Elegant store, very unique collections and carries anything you could possibly need in the kitchen, and more! Staff is really nice, Amy in particular was very friendly and helpful in the store. Lots of nifty seasonal items: Halloween themed, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, theyve got it all! Extremely cool store, most of their products you will not see in any other stores around this area, or southeast Michigan in general.

A great higher end kitchen store! The staff is friendly & knowledgeable if you need any help, but theyre equally happy to just let you browse & do your own thing. They have a great selection of anything kitchen related :)

I was just attacked by a man in the parking lot in front of Sur La Table. I just dropped someone off and I was pulling away from the building and a man walked up along the driver’s side of my vehicle and then jumped out in front of me. He began pounding on the hood of my car and started shouting obscenities at me. I exited my vehicle to confront him and pulled a knife of me! Then the owner came out and started yelling at me. WTH? Didn’t he see that a man was threatening me with a knife? I guess when you see a Mexican and a causation having a disagreement one just automatically assumes it’s the Mexican who’s causing the problem. That’s ok. It’s been that way my entire life. The owner be hearing from the authorities and my attorney tomorrow.

Usually my go-to for upscale kitchen wares, supply has been somewhat reduced due to lack of inventory. The workers are helpful, and are apologetic for not having a lot to choose from. I was still able to get most of what I went there for.

If youre going to upgrade your knifes come here! They have everything you could ever hope for at reasonable prices. They blow williams and Sonoma out of the water every time. Plus, they have customer service who are always super chill when Ive been there. Happy to shop there.

We registered for an in-store cooking class, drove 40miles and while getting there, we were told the class has been cancelled, and there was no calling or previous notice. They could at least inform us via email that the class will be canceled due to bad weather conditions, or at least they could call and ask whether we can participate in this weather. I am truly disappointed since I had changed my plans to participate to this class. They should value our time and plans.

The cooking class was disorganized, dull and the instructors did not let explain their process clearly. Just reading off a recipe and with little confidence. There is also no place to really sit comfortably and eat afterwards.

Store is pretty small so selection is limited. Their sales section is always super messy and doesnt have too much good stuff. There is a parking lot so thats really nice. They also offer cooking classes and sometimes they will run promos for half off.

Had great help from Sara and Melissa when coming in to purchase a cookware set. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and provided excellent service. While the store features high end products, the staff is friendly and unpretentious.

My girlfriend and I took one of the Date Night cooking classes here. Not only was it a blast, but the food was delicious too! Chef Joanna a great teacher, but her assistants were great as well! It was really engaging and I learned quite a bit. Unfortunately there was some horrible weather and we lost power during part of it, but our chef just kept going and it turned into a wonderful class. Highly recommended!! Definitely bring a bottle of wine with if you are doing a Date Night.

Went for a cooking class. Though the people we were with were great, the class itself left much to be desired. Specifically: nearly rotten/ already sprouting onions, soft wilted greens, and improperly sized cooking pots / utensils. Weve been to cooking classes elsewhere before, and know better than to visit Sur La Table again.

Decent selection of goods, though the showroom floor is a little cramped compared to other locations Ive frequented, and lacks a little bit in terms of variety compared to those other locations. For instance - Ive been keeping an eye out for new carbon steel pans - only found two practically hidden on the lowest shelf in the cookware section. The real disappointment though was the cooking class I took here. It was practically chaos compared to classes Ive taken at other Sur La Table locations. Very little introduction offered to the topic at hand; recipes were approached haphazardly, with the instructor generally failing to give an overview of what the general process and goals for each dish were before diving in to execution. The instructor also had a habit of rushing my group along when we clearly were not quite ready to proceed (e.g. oil for sautéing was clearly still coming up to an appropriate temperature, but the instructor insisted we were ready to move along without making a close inspection). Some questions raised by my fellow attendees were sometimes responded to in a notably condescending manner, and in some cases answered with information that was, frankly, embarrassingly incorrect and at odds with food science and practical experience.

Underwhelming cooking classes. Gave my dad a knife skills class and it was embarrassing how poor the instructor was, he still jokes about it months later. I did a macaron class twice and did not think it was worth full price - glad I did it during a sale. You do not get to take home your exact creations but rather a combination of everyone’s.
