We attended a bachelorette party this weekend which included the Intro to Pole class. It was amazing! Shawna was a great teacher, encouraging and helpful throughout. The space was set up in such a fun way and our group had an amazing time. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for bachelorette events or someone looking to boost self confidence and get a bit of a workout!

Took the Fun with Burlesque 101 for a bachelorette party and it was amazing! The instructor was so nice, encouraging, and super patient with us as no one in the party had every done a dance class like this before. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for bachelorette activities, or just want to learn a fun dance and break a little sweat!

The Fast Track pole program has honestly been one of the best parts of my entire year! Having consistent training in my busy schedule has been game changing for my pole progress and happiness. Kathleen is an amazing teacher and having the other students on the same training schedule has both pushed me and encouraged me to do new tricks that I thought would take years to perfect! On top of that, Ive gotten so freaking strong. If you are considering Fast Track dont even consider, just go for it!

The Fast Track Pole Program with Kathleen is one of the best decisions I made for myself in the past year. What you can expect from this program is consistency, support, joy, struggle and growth.I had the benefit of doing two back-to-back sessions of Fast Track, and definitely have seen myself build skills that I imagine would take me much longer to develop if I had just been coming to the studio classes. With the ability to really ask questions, problem solve, cheer each other on, and come back to skills to work on, I have seen myself get tricks that eluded me, see growth in strength and endurance, and more deeply connect with the art form and the fabulous humans that practice it.Kathleen is supportive, and WILL challenge you. There are lots of times when my body shape or flexibility make moves seem impossible for me – and often they are at that time - but she will take time to investigate what might work for my body that day. She is great about keeping track of the skills we are learning and helping get more nuanced movement out of flow and tricks.To have a small group where we could express, celebrate, learn and move together is something I am so SO grateful to have experienced. It allowed me to take class when I normally wouldn’t be able to because of my schedule. I would sign up again tomorrow.

Despite having 0 background in dance, I allowed my friend to persuade me to try a pole class here in March and I have been HOOKED on coming ever since. DCA employs the sweetest crew of uplifting teachers who really care about getting to know their students and helping them grow. Its been a boost to my self esteem to learn to dance here and has allowed me to get in touch with my sensual side that, as a woman, society tells me to supress. There is never any shame in DCA, only love!! Ive been dancing for sixth months and I just cant get enough!!

We absolutely LOVED DanceClub Ashville and our instructor, Ash was amazing!! We visited on a bachelorette weekend and everyone said this was their favorite part of the weekend! We are currently looking to do another class closer to our hometown because we had so much fun at DanceClub!

We went for pole dancing lessons during a Bachelorette weekend and had THE! BEST! TIME! While some of the moves were a little challenging for us, this was probably the most fun we had all weekend! Let me just say, i’ve done a pole class before but definitely not like this one! The customer service was so good from the time I booked, until it was time for arrival. The class itself was definitely a workout, a good one though! The instructor took her time and had a lot of patience with my group lol The choreography in heels definitely made the class memorable for my birthday. I would recommend this class to anyone, especially a group of girls looking for a bonding event! 5/5 stars!

This was the best thing for my 21st Birthday! The whole group left wanting to come back the next weekend, even the ones that were terrified to begin with. The instructor was SUPER friendly, understanding, outgoing and easy to work with. She was amazing. 10/10 recommend Danceclub Ashville!

EDITED May2021: Just started my SECOND 16-week Fast Track Program with Kathleen! 1-on-1 sessions 3 times per week for 16 weeks, focusing on my specific goals and needs. I did it last summer and it was a game changer so Im planning to make it an annual thing. We make so much progress very quickly with the focused and individual attention on my personal goals. Shes helped me master more difficult tricks as well nailing the finer details of form and style that bring my dancing to the next level.ORIGINAL REVIEW 2017: Dance Club has been truly life changing. I tried a class thinking it might be a good way to exercise that I could actually stick to. Boy was it ever. I was hooked right away. More than a year later and Im still a regular, going 2-3 times per week. Ive never stuck with a gym membership or any exercise routine for more than a couple of months.Beyond just the fitness, Dance Club is FUN! Classes are always a unique challenge, and Kathleen does a great job of breaking things down and helping each of us to not only learn cool dance moves but to find our own unique style and strengths.Dance Club has become a community of friends who encourage and support each other. I cant imagine ever leaving this community.

I booked a class with Kathleen for a bachelorette party and we had so much fun! Kathleen was very responsive, flexible with scheduling and even took song requests. The location is great, too. It’s 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and was very easy to fit it in our day. Would highly recommend!

I visited DanceClub Asheville for a pole dancing class for my sister’s bachelorette this past weekend and what an amazing experience it was! Kathleen was so fun and personable and made sure our group had the best time - even included some bubbly with our package which is always a plus.Her class was very beginner friendly while also teaching alternative ways to do certain moves to enhance the routine if comfortable doing so. We had men/women in the class. Many from our group were very nervous at first but were actually so surprised at how much they enjoyed it and how much they loved Kathleen and the studio. It was also QUITE the workout. We had an absolute blast! DanceClub Asheville is a MUST if you’re looking for a fun activity, especially during the pandemic. Poles appropriately spaced apart and COVID conscious! 10/10 recommend & can’t wait to come back!!

Danceclub Asheville has changed my life. I was shy and self conscious when I started going. The instructors and the students are so supportive, loving and talented. I take 7 classes a week and I love every minute of it. I highly recommend Danceclub! I feel a sense Of community there, And was pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t a clique atmosphere among all the girls there. Very friendly and welcoming environment. The beginners classes are structured so that you build your skills each week. I can’t say enough good things about it!

Danceclub Asheville is an amazing studio with a wide variety of classes, including​ pole, hip-hop, twerk, belly dancing, sexy chair dance, and more. I have been taking pole classes here for about 5 months now and couldnt be happier with my experience. For pole classes, they have a curriculum you can follow, so if you are brand new to pole dancing like I was, you start with intro to pole, then move on to beginner one, then beginner two, and so on. The curriculum classes are taken once a week and you continue through each of the levels with the same group you started with, making this a great way to get to know people in the community, in addition to learning how to pole dance.In addition to the curriculum classes, you can take specialty​ classes such as beginner pole tricks, beginner spinning pole, beginner pole flow, beginner poleography, floor play, and the list goes on. There are options for intermediate and advanced dancers, too, but Im a beginner and havent tried those.The instructors are great at accommodating​ people of all fitness levels and will make sure no one​ gets left behind in class. There is no reason to be intimidated because everyone is super warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental. I highly recommended checking Danceclub Asheville out!

Danceclub has changed my life! This is the most supportive and uplifting environment. It’s a safe place for women to express themselves and be free. The studio is lovely, the teachers are incredible, and the classes are so much fun! If you come, you’ll be hooked!!

I don’t even know where to begin. I have been taking classes for over a year now. I have learned so much and look forward to my time there every week. It is my therapy. The instructors rule. I am much more confident after trying all these new classes. DO IT!

Pole dancing at Danceclub Asheville was so much fun!!! We went for my sister’s bachelorette weekend and my sister had an absolute blast. Ash was an amazing instructor who did a great job teaching us our routine and tricks and she was very encouraging! The champagne, fun music, and chocolates were also a great touch! Highly recommend!

In November our group had surprised the birthday girl celebrating her 70th birthday with a private burlesque lesson. Oh what fun! Kathleen did a fabulous job teaching and made everyone feel very comfortable. We all laughed and had wonderful time. The birthday girl and myself had so much fun that we attended the Christmas striptease workshop for my birthday! I would highly recommend having your special event or attending a workshop with Kathleen. She is just simply amazing!

Going to a class at Danceclub seriously makes you feel like a glass of champagne-- light, sparkly and full of life. Everyone at this studio is so warm, accepting and welcoming, you will end up feeling like family. Love it!

The environment Kathleen and her teachers have cultivated here is incredible. I love coming to class and always leave feeling happier than when I arrived! The facility itself is awesome--the poles are in great condition and the sound system is always bumping. If youre hesitant about taking a pole class--dont be! Kathleen is more than a great teacher, choreographer, performer and all around good person - she is a healer. When I was ready to connect with my sensuality through dance I knew just the person to call (and it wasnt the lady Ghost-busters, it was Kathleen). I explained that I wanted to learn to express my sexual self through a sexy dance, something to do privately for a lover. The hour we spent transformed the way I saw myself. As an older adult, she helped me connect with my body in a youthful, playful, sensual way. I cant thank her enough.

Dance Club Asheville is not only a wonderful dance studio with amazing instructors but also a strong community of supportive individuals. I love my Danceclub family, and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning to pole dance, belly dance, chair/heel dance, etc. or even just feel sexier AND stronger. Im a plus sized dancer, and I still feel like I can be part of the group. They also work hard to provide modifications if my body is not ready to do certain moves. It works great with my after work schedule, and they offer at least 1 class every day of the week, so no excuses not to go! If you are brand new there is a drop in intro class on Saturday, or I would recommend signing up for an intro to pole class series. It is a good way to get an introduction and learn more about Danceclub.

Kathleen choreographed our first dance remotely as we live in Australia. She listened to our ideas and brief and created a dance that exceeded our expectations. Our guests loved it and we have something truly unique to treasure. Kathleens instructional videos were excellent and we would highly recommend.

We came for a bachelorette with a group of about ten girls. We had so much fun during the 90 minutes we spent there. We learned a new “burlesque dance” and we all still watch the videos and laugh at the good memories and times there. Highly recommend!

I may be a little biased, but I’m also really picky about my dance atmosphere. I need it to feel safe, supportive, comfortable, warm & authentic. Apart from those most important aspects, I crave a big open space with room to roll around, or flail around or be in my own dance bubble. Danceclub Asheville is perfectly warm & inviting, with two beautiful studios, one for pole and one for anything your dancing heart desires. It has two gorgeous mandala murals by a local artist & fellow teacher, a disco ball, a Kathleen Hahn, high ceilings, good vibes, and incredibly talented down-to-earth humans walking in and out of its doors. So yes, DCA gets 5 stars from me. It’s my home away from home and if you want to dance, even if you’ve never taken a single class, it could be yours too. :)

I booked a pole dancing class for my friends bachelorette party here and we had such an amazing time! Kathleen was fantastic and may have actually taught this group of nerdy engineers how to twerk and slide gracefully down a pole!! At first we felt awkward going in, but she really helped us feel confident and amazing with her constant encouragement, despite especially my inability to turn the correct way during the routine she taught us haha! Danceclub has been such a beautiful addition to my life throughout the last year. Prior to Kathleen’s dance classes, I had no training whatsoever. As an adult dancer, I crave different movement and ways to increase my strength and flexibility, I love the mental and physical challenge of learning new moves and pushing my body, and I love sweating, laughing, and growing with this most beautiful community of dancers. Owner Kathleen (pole) is a wonderful instructor, as is Charlotte (bellydance), Illysa (hip hop fitness), Ash, Tricia, I could go on and on... I am in love with Danceclub and the people there.

DanceClub Asheville was an excellent stop for my sisters Bachelorette weekend. We participated in the Burlesque 101, and it was fantastic. Kathleen was an excellent instructor! I found this wonderful experience randomly on google. I am from PA, but attended a bachelorette party in Asheville, NC that I was in charge of planning. I had no idea what to expect when I booked this, but from the start the owner, Kathleen was quick to respond to my emails and extremely helpful when it came to planning our class with her. I had booked a strip tease class, but upon arrival we asked if we could do a pole dancing class instead, Kathleen was very accomadating and so much fun ! We all had an absolute blast and highly recommend this for a bachelorette party or girls night out! You will not regret it!

Edited again, 2019 -I started pole here over 3 years ago and have enjoyed every minute. During that time, I’ve made friends, competed, performed for strangers, shed some inhibitions, and lost some clumsiness I thought was mine forever. I can do splits now, and have greater flexibility than when I was in my 20s (I’m in my 50s now). I love this place so much.2017 -I took a class at danceclub with a friend last year as a lark, kind of a bucket list thing for her. Here I am, more than a year later, still taking classes. At 50, there are some moves I’ll probably never be able to do and if one person is out of step, it’s me. And that’s ok. Kathleen has built a welcoming environment and encourages us all to keep playing and improving, whatever the skill level. I love this place and the folks I’ve met here.Edited to make current - sooo, last year, I did a student show and also competed in Atlanta. In pole! It was such a rush, so much fun. Here I am at 52, still poling at Danceclub, still learning, and still having more fun than I thought possible. I can hang upside down, climb, all kinds of crazy circus tricks. I love this place so much, and all the folks here. ❤️

I had a weekend in Asheville booked for a friends bachelorette party. We had a group of 16 girls and were looking for something fun and festive to do but we were having a hard time finding a place that could accommodate our large group. I stumbled across Danceclub Asheville and sent an e-mail on a weeknight and got a call back from Kathleen within a few hours. I was able to book that night. The prices are very affordable especially considering what you get. We had a 90 minute class. There was plenty of champagne and chocolate to share with our big group and we love our champagne. We started the class with getting blinged out with glitter and diamonds and picking our burlesque name. It was a very cute way to break the ice. Then we learned a fun, sexy and flirty routine. She put up with our inability to keep a straight face and our silliness. The class was so much fun!! The location is VERY close to downtown Asheville but not IN downtown Asheville so parking was not a problem. I would definitely recommend booking a class with Kathleen. All 16 of us really enjoyed the day.

Kathleen was awesome! She made time for us to have a class late at night since we were in a time crunch, and we all had a blast!!
