Excellent Karate school ! Thankful my daughter has the opportunity to learn under the guidance of Sensei Dula.

Dula Sensei is a wonderful instructor who tailors the experience to fit the individual. It’s a great place to learn respect and life lessons. He likes to have a good time and laugh, but he keeps on the task of training body and mind and heart.

Jerry is amazingly dedicated to his students. He cares about, encourages, inspires and teaches them with expertise and wit.

As a young man of 9, I needed direction in my life. I had played sports since I could remember, and I had down time when the seasons ended. My dad decided to call upon an old friend of his that had a karate school on Tunnel Road, and thus my career in the martial arts began. I remember meeting Sensei Dula for the first time in his office, and distinctly remember a picture of him made in Vietnam when he was in the Air Force. This picture showed me that this man was a teacher, and would be strict and organized. I started lessons with the school, going 2 nights a week, but quickly realized how much I liked it, and with the best instruction around, I was excelling in it. Sensei Dula was very careful with his teachings, and never gave anyone anything that they did not earn. If he thought that you werent ready, you werent ready, but he made sure that he taught you why, and you were better for it. Now, 30 years later, I still admire this man, and recommend anyone that is looking for the way to go see this man, and listen to what he has to say. My life is still impacted by his instruction from 30 years ago, and without that instruction, I would not be where I am today.

Here, students learn to face and control fear in a disciplined and structured environment ; That discipline and structure manifests in the leadership qualities and character of the students.

I have been going to this school for about four years now and have deeply enjoyed it. Sensi Dula is strict, disciplined, and does a great job with all of his students. He is fair and really enjoys being apart of all of his kids lives, not just inside the dojo but personally as well. I have learned a lot under Sensi Dula and have nothing but the upmost respect for him and his school.

In 1998, I started my long and fateful journey down the path of Martial Arts. I had no idea, when I walked through the doors of Jerry Dula Karate that I would find my true passion in life.
