The things that makes this cooking school so great: the chefs are warm, funny guys who really know what they are doing in the kitchen and how to make cooking fun, the location is on the belt line and there is a great people watching patio to enjoy your food and wine, the kitchen feels like a comfortable home environment and the whole experience is like an awesome dinner party. If you didnt come with friends, youll leave with them here because the setting and experience just brought everyone together, talking and hanging out until pretty late in the evening. I recommend it as a date night or with a group. We will be back for sure!

Highly recommend!! This class was so much fun and Jake was amazing at energizing the room and working with us to prepare a great meal! Our entire group left wanting to do more of his cooking classes. Jake also threw in ice cream from his shop as a surprise dessert for us. Will be a returning customer for sure!

The food was decent, and it can be fun with a group. However, our group booked an experience to learn to make pasta. If you guessed that I didn’t actually get to learn to make pasta, you guessed correctly! To me, this was a fatal flaw for the class, and the only reason I’m not scoring the class lower is because the instructor was otherwise personable enough and the group generally had a good time. The instructor was also very late, which he did attempt to make amends for. It had the potential to be a lot more fun (for me) if he’d delivered what he promised when the class started, which was for everyone to get to experience making the pasta. At the very end, just before it was time for us to eat (when everyone else was finishing), the instructor noted to me that he “hadn’t forgotten” that I hadn’t had the opportunity to make pasta yet. However, when you’re with a group, who wants to have the experience alone? No one wants to be made to feel like they matter least.

ABSULUTELY DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!! PLEASE READ THISI reached to to the school and chef on Friday September 5 to see if they would be available for the next day - Saturday, Sep 6 to have a private cooking class. Chef Jake Rothschild responded to me at 4:15 pm saying that he would be able to do it the next day at 7:30 pm. I agreed we went over the menu and he sent me a bill to pay of $399 at 5:45 I confirmed the receipt and paid in full. 2 hours later a very unfortunate and unplanned situation happened in my family that would absolutely changed everything for the next day. Right away I emailed him and was honest about what happened. To which he replied that he had cancelled plans and already done shopping (in the short 2 hours window, but ok) and that cancellation policy is 48 hours. I suggested that I pay for groceries and asked him to please have an exception to the policy since I couldnt have physically have 48 hours since this was planned 24 ahead (which he was given). He was very rude and told me that I didnt care about other peoples plans. Which is absolutely not true. Plans change. Unfortunately mine did.. And with all the curtesy and respect I reached out to him right away 24 hours ahead so that he could adjust his as well. But since that time he stopped responding to me!!!!! I thought maybe he already went to sleep and waited till morning. Still had no answer. I emailed one more time, but still got no response. This company just STOLE my money and disappeared!!! If you have such strict policy with 48 hour cancelation and not willing to work with people than you shouldnt even entertain an idea of booking people less time ahead! Within given situation I given my notice of cancelation almost right away! within couple hours!!

What a fabulous night! A group of 7 of us booked this for a friends 30th b-day party (we searched for something special yet something that offered social distancing/ outside space). The Cooking School at Irwin Street was perfect! Jake (the chef) was GREAT to work with. He answered all of my questions leading up to the class (and I had a ton of them)! He was great planning the menu (including a boozy cocktail). We learned a lot of helpful hints when cooking in general, and made Paella!!! The location on the beltline offers a lively outdoor space (yet private). The fire pit was the perfect way to end the evening- a glass of wine, good friends and stuffed with delicious food that we made! Our group is already talking about going back!

We had a great time with Chef Jake in the Eggplant Parm/Fettuccine class. We lucked out with a very small class size (only 4 of us!) and got extremely personalized instruction and a ton of interaction with Jake. His style is welcoming and conversational, and he made us feel right at home in the kitchen. Everything was totally hands-on--In addition to giving us solid instruction, he made sure to get everyone involved in every step of the process. The class was a great fit for all skill levels (a little background: Im a culinary school dropout; my girlfriend knows her way around the kitchen, but is no expert; the other couple had some at-home cooking experience, but not a ton), and neither of us found ourselves bored nor overwhelmed. The environment was great, the food was great, and Jakes a really fascinating and friendly guy. It certainly doesnt hurt that he shared some of his amazing ice cream with us after the meal. I would absolutely recommend taking a class with Jake, and will probably look into taking another one sometime down the road--especially if he decides to offer that matzah ball soup class :)Thanks for showing us a great time, Jake!

I attended the Creole Dinner Party on Friday 7/26/19.I am constructing this review to express how disappointed I was with the experience. Ive participated in several cooking classes in the past, and do not feel this one met expectations. I do not feel we received $85 per person worth of culinary education nor dining experience.Id like to start by stating that Chef Eboni was a delight, and the food that was prepared was fine. One of my grievances is that we came to a cooking school to essentially watch five other couples cook. The contributions and learning that we made included molding a store bought pie crust into a foil pan, dicing an onion, and hand crushing pecans. Meanwhile other couples were preparing various ingredients or stirring a pan. The majority of class time was spent watching 10 people crowd around two stoves while only two participants stirred. I felt as though we were a part of an assembly line rather than a school. My second complaint is that the class did not match the description of what was marketed online:This class is highly interactive, as you will learn about “The Holy Trinity” – the base of New Orlean’s Cooking, how to make a roux and make your own seasoning mixes for your recipes…yeah, no prepackaged jar stuff in this class!Ive already stated my point on the interactiveness of this class. We didnt learned anything about The Holy Trinity. We did not prepare any roux. We did not make our own seasoning mixes. We used plenty of prepackaged jar stuff.Lastly I believe Eboni mentioned the class was supposed to teach us how to prepare three dishes, but we were only taught two.You have sent an email containing a link to provide feedback and suggestions, but the link only directs me to the scheduling section of your webpage. I cannot find a location on your webpage to provide feedback.I understand that we paid for an experience and an opportunity to learn how to cook dishes. I wish to reiterate that I do not feel we received $85 per person worth of culinary education nor dining experience.

He responds very quickly when trying to set things up and added to the fun of our day!
