This is absolutely the worst and nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Roach πŸͺ³ infestation, rooms are the size of a bathroom closet, water in the shower did not work for hours, the staff is ignorant and rude, and the owner is a shiesty greaseball. Please do not support this hotel. I stayed here actually 3 years ago and never forgot my experience. Please permanently shut this establishment down. 0/5 stars

This is the worst place Ive ever stayed, was greeted by concierge roach (whom no longer has a job). Its 6 minutes away from downtown. Which is like a world away. Bums sleeping on luggage carts in the lobby. Pictures on the website are definitely from a better time in this establishments history. You cant fart in the room with out knocking someone over. 100$ incidental deposit and the room is just hideous. Floors are weak, soft spots all around the closest (the room). Spray foam to close holes in the wall.. The list could go on and on..

Do not stay here. Something very shady is going on here. There are holes in the walls and ceilings everywhere and the broken dry wall continues to cover the hallway floors. The glass in many of the windows is broken with out any attempt to repair it. It looks as if there have been multiple struggles here causing all of these damages to the property. The staff was not rude, however, I could not help but feel as if they somehow were involved in dangerous activity around and through the hotel. Homeless everywhere in and out of the hotel. I had 911 ready on my phone at all times walking through the building, as well as a knife. I moved the side table in front of my door in order to feel more safe, however, this was still not enough. A few hours later. I took my 80 dollar loss and slept in my car all alone far away from this place because I felt more safe doing that then in this hotel room with locked doors and a desk pushed against the door. I do not know what is going on here but I can tell you that if you are alone and staying here, your safety is at risk. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. I would not have felt safe here even If were a fully armed grown man.

I wasn’t impressed upon checking in. Customer service was poor due to the young lady’s attitude. The door was hard to open to the room. The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. I can say that matchbox is a good way to describe the size of the shower. Roaches were crawling around like crazy. I wish that I could post the videos to show you. When I booked this hotel in the summer I was just looking for somewhere close to where we were going to be visiting and I didn’t read the reviews until the morning of the trip. I thought well it can’t be that bad, but upon my arrival I found out that it was. I won’t d staying her again. Then they charge a$100 security deposit when you check in. This is after they charge your card the day of you checking in.

I stayed here last year after looking online and it seemed half decent. As a tourist from the UK and a single female alone I arrived at the hotel feeling very vulnerable, the neighbourhood was unsettling too. I got checked in, noticed a few locals coming in and out waiting around reception and then walked up to my room through corridors that smelt of cannabis. My room was horrendous, everytime someone closed their door my whole room would shake, I ended up moving a dresser up against the door to at least have a rest and a little security. I was supposed to stay there two nights, I lasted one. Word of advice, DO YOUR RESEARCH.

I thought we were going to be robbed just driving through to get to the hotel. 2nd. The staff looked like they hated their life and didnt even tell us to enjoy the stay. So we get up to the room and the room is absolutely tiny and the pillows were so flat. The bed was uneven and when I laid down, I could feel the springs. So it had no cushion whatsoever. It is too expensive for what it is...Horribly tiny rooms with the sink in your bed room.At 6 am the fire alarm went on for no reason madam, everything is OK!No way to open a window in my room in this tiny building and if youre as lucky as me you could actually have the view over the dumpster...They had to take me through 3 rooms to be able to find one ready or puddle of water free... When they finally did find one, the cleaning lady tried to get in and broke my door lock...So spend a little more but dont be a fool like me if you want to have a good night of sleep...The only good thing was the room was really clean!

I didnt think the lodging situation could get any worse after staying a couple of nights at the Travel Inn, another pet friendly hotel in Atlanta. The Ponce Hotel, previously the Red Roof Inn, in the 4th Ward neighborhood of Atlanta strays beyond the pale as the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. The $100 deposit is refundable but seems even more unusual when you walk into the tiny dingy space you are already paying $95 per night to stay in. I was staying there with my wife who was showering when a knock came on the door, water will be off for four hours. She had less than three minutes to rinse off. We were also disappointed that when we called to book the room we were not warned that a massive remodeling job was being done on the hotel and that starting at 8A.M. jack hammers and power tools were on full blast and would remain at that volume for six hours. When we spoke to management about the issues of having no water and no peace for half the day it was dismissed as being just the way things are. We had already made arrangements to stay for four nights and it seemed to us that some compensation was in order as no warning was given to these renovations. Instead, we were treated as if not having running water or functioning toilets for half of each day is not a big deal. Beyond remodeling, the management was unfriendly and the parking lot will leave most anyone feeling unsafe for both their vehicle and for their person. As a couple who travels regularly, staying in no less than 50 hotels per year, we are accustomed to varied levels of comfort and quality. That said, I must stress, AVOID THIS LOCATION!

We were enjoying a couple of weeks in Florida at the theme parks, until Hurricane Irma interrupted our vacation. After a couple of days in Tampa/Busch Gardens, we decided to cut things short and head north to home base in East Tennessee and made plans to stop over in Atlanta for the night. We left on the 9th of September and booked a room at this place. We didnt get into Atlanta until around 1:30AM. We called the Ponce (It was downtown.) and I had to deal with one of the surliest humans Ive encountered in some time. I started to explain that we were on our way and she cut me off, snapped at me to get to the point. I was infuriated. Long story short: Im not given to fits of anger but that degenerate could have provoked Job. She should not be at the desk of any business or put in any capacity deal with the public. We simply bypassed that place as a bad deal___ AND YOU SHOULD TOO.We were lucky to get a Holiday Inn Express right outside of Atlanta. Never trust a place like the Ponce unless you, like we were, forced to do so. That desk person should not be allowed to roam among us much less be placed in a position to deal with the public.

Even if the price is good, I recommend finding another hotel unless you dont mind sharing your room with roaches and dont mind a hotel that hasnt had a major renovation in several decades. The staff is friendly and helpful, but that doesnt make up for the state of of this hotel. And the $100 security deposit is absurd when you see that pretty much every amenity in the room you are given is worn down and/or broken due to overuse.

For someone who is visiting and does not have a car, you wont have a problem. The inside of the hotel itself is safe. They are remodeling so hopefully much of this I’ll change in the future. We were put in the incorrect room ( this was quickly resolved). When we made it to the correct room we encountered a room in need of a ton of maintenance. The flooring was coming up in some places. The air conditioner in the main part of the room is not working. When I investigated further it appeared the outlet had shorted out and partially melted. There was a door in the bedroom that was screwed closed. The bathroom was so small my shoulders touched the wall on both sides of the toilet (I am 5’3” and Mya shoulders are not wide). I had a second reservation for later this week when we come back through Atlanta on our way home which I have cancelled. We would have gone to a different hotel last night but it was 3am when we arrived. The front desk clerk was extremely polite, personable, and welcoming!(Tl;dr) We felt like we were the white women in a horror movie making the decision that put them in the same room as the murderer.

This hotel is deplorable. They didnt say anything on the website about the fact that they are supposedly renovating the building, they only have a few rooms on the first floor, the wood floor is buckled to the point that you almost break your arm trying to open it, the heater is making all kinds of noise, the smoke detector was constantly beeping, the woman at the desk finally came and took the batteries out, but had her cellphone on speaker so we had to listen to the screaming kid on the other end, and said she couldnt guarantee the cover wouldnt fall off. Then I found black mold on the shower ceiling, and they told us we would still have to pay for the night if we left. They said we would have to wait till morning to talk to the General Manager to see if we can get a partial refund. I plan to find a way to notify the fire department about the safety issues. They are charging ti much money for this mess. I would rather risk freezing to death in the car for the night in the 30 degree weather.

Before I review, let me just say this has nothing to do with the staff. They have been nothing but friendly, professional, and great. If I had to rate the staff separately Id give them five stars. That being said, this has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First off they said they are undergoing renovations and that itd be done by fall 2018. Either completion is way off or they have done a poor job because everything still looks run down. The elevator felt unsafe, and the halls were dirty and the floors were uneven. Then theres the rooms. Theyre super small. Not terribly uncomfortable but youd expect something better. The mattress was really uncomfortable you can feel every spring coil on your back and the sheets are thin. The bathroom are also really small. The A/C runs on a random on/off cycle. There are also roaches. Then theres the time the secondary turn lock that, I dont know how, but when I left the room became engaged and I couldnt get back in the room. The maintenance man had to come in and unscrew it from the door. The only two positive things about the hotel is the free parking, in a city where parking, free or not, is scarce and that youre near fast eateries like Mcdonalds, Ihop, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Cook Out and the Ponce City Market. Only stay at the Ponce Hotel out of necessity. If youre here on holiday, Id spend the money on a more reputable hotel downtown or midtown.

There was an exceeding amount of character to this establishment. Im telling you if you want a quality hotel at a VERY reasonable price then go to the Ponce. There was not a single roach, or paved hole in the wall. The sheets are so comfortable after an adventourus day in the beautiful city of Atlanta, GA. I honestly think I would have rated four stars if I didnt have the charming and lovable Diangelo working at the front desk. There is NO WAY that he is being paid enough. He helped me and my friends in every way he could and then some, with no doubts about it. He brought a nice welcome with not complaining once about other customers needs. The hotel is close to everything you would ever need and comes with great parking that is on security camera. This place was as amazing as my stay in the incredible city of Atlanta. I’ve traveled a lot and I know how to adjust expectations based on price, but this place was fascinating bad. There was what appears to be a homeless guy in the lobby (didn’t mind him so much but I know everyone’s different). He told me he could get me anything I needed wink wink and followed me almost to my door. The room cost $103 dollars, and for that you get a mismatched and cramped room. I laughed out loud when I saw how bad it was, turned to shut the door and saw an actual roach crawling on a water damaged paper sign taped up.I’m from the south and I know you cant help bugs at times, but this room has many other cosmetic issues and appeared to have water damage in the floor. The walls were crazy thin and I could here a beeping from some kind of door all night. Thank god I was too tired to care. All of this I can just shrug off and deal with but a charge was placed on my card for an additional $100 dollars. The owner assured me that everyone does this but this is my first time in decades of travel that they debuted actual money from my account as security. This was not communicated to me in the check in process and if that was my last $100 dollars I would be unbelievably angry about this. Also, the owner wasn’t too concerned by the roach issue, seemed like he had heard this before.I have to wait 3-5 days to see if my money is refunded, if it isn’t, I’ll be pursuing legal action.Spend $40 more bucks and don’t stay here.

Just no.... Blood on the wall, barely a walking path in the room between bathroom wall and the bed. Its beat up and worn down. Its just awful. Had a single double bed room. This place needs Anthony Melchiorri like yesterday.... Only 20 years ago yesterday lol RUNAWAY!!!

There are roaches in here and saw some crawling on the bed, no refrigerator, microwave, and hell of people banging upstairs. This is bad. Please dont book!!!! Garbage. Absolute garbage. This was not So much a hotel as it was a halfway house/ Bates motel. Firstly the location... its tucked down a sketchy street with a questionable crowd congregating out front, the homeless guy in the lobby was polite, the front desk woman wasnt entirely rude, the snacks offered by the management, tho a nice gesture, were expired by a month, pretty sure they were from a food pantry. The quaint sitting area in the entrance foyer was nice, it gave you the impression it would be a nice place to stay.... misleading... you need a keycard to access the elevator to even get to your floor, it was like getting through the wait door at a medium security prison facility, the ride up the elevator was uneventful, traversering the corridor was a lengthy hike around 75% of the building, one way in, one way out, fire hazard waiting to happen.... The carpeting in the hall was old, dated from the 70s at best and it was filthy, there was a friendly roach on the wall greeting guests as they arrive. The room.... it was set up like a jail cell... the sheets looked clean but the mattress smelled of soluble bodily fluids, sweat, drugs and urine and musty lady bits. We slept in our clothes so as not to have skin contact with the bedding, *side note* We left our bags in the car to not take home any roaches, I got dressed outside next to a dumpster, behind my car on the parking lot... also Not the place for you if you sleep with your mouth open... roaches.... well it was a fire hazard with extension cords running everywhere for the appliances in the room. On the plus side there was a set up for a hot plate if you intended to cook your own food in the room, there was a tiny dirty microwave and a filthy mini fridge which Im certain was teeming with e.coli, salmonella and bacillius subtilus. I wouldnt store my leftovers here. The walls were so thin and It so was loud, you could hear every single vehicle that drove by, *there was drag racing up and down the street every 20 minutes or so* you could hear the fighting in the parking lot, Im certain it was a pimp and a hooker getting into it about pay and illegitimate children. The bathroom was the size of a postage stamp, tiny, I almost needed a back-scratcher just to wipe my myself, you can barely reach around. The shower was tiny, with the coldest water straight from the artic, the towels were dirty and the toilet made noise all night. There were toiletries offered. We only stayed a night, I will never return. On the bright side my new jeep was still intact when we checked out.

This place is not a nice hotel. I wouldnt recommend parking a vehicle here so if you get dropped off it is okay. The floors in the rooms are warped seems like from water damage they just didnt want to fix. Floors are sticky and the bed cover had cigarette burns in it. Only reason I stayed here was because all the hotels were over booked due to 1000 canceled flights because of weather.

There was no warm comforter, the room had a bad smell for a nonsmoking room, the other guests had no regard for guests that might be sleeping, and there were roaches. If I had seen them before I fell asleep I would not have stayed there. This place was not worth the money paid. 2 thumbs down

We checked in for the Falcon vs Saints game..the place was located within minutes of the Dome! The room was bigger online because once we entered the room it was very tiny..the bathroom shower had mold and discolored tiles..there were roaches crawling everywhere..the workers were smoking weed because the reception area reeked of the odor! The room attendants didnt put towels in our room! You could hear people working upstairs..it was a really bad stay!! You couldnt leave your food down for a second because of Roaches!! Dont Book!!

WOW. Walked into our tiny room only to discover a 6” knife hiding under our bed within the first five minutes of staying here. Needless to say we noped out immediatly and are staying elsewhere. Don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon.Side Note: the place looks and smells post apocalyptical. Do yourself a favor and just say no πŸ‘

Gave it 1 star couse you cant give it less, Terrible service by upper management, There is no reasoning with these ppl, Came to Atl For the v103 show and did not do my homework on this hotel, upper management wanted us to leave 3 40,000 dollar show cars in the street with only a suppose camera to watch them and would not take responsibility if something happened tried to plea with them but they got arrogant, and refuses to give a refund at all, very nasty ppl, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

What was advertised wasnt what we placed our deposit as for as the room size; we selected two double/ beds- however, only one was in the room and no bedding; and the bathroom very small, no bathtub but very small shower. My wife and I is so upset about this Ponce Hotel. We traveled from Minnesota to Atlanta and will shall not return to this organization. We are trying to get our money back.
