Pros:I chose this school over others in the area because of the time the Director took to answer all of my questions on the phone. She took a half hour and never made me feel silly or rushed. After seeing what she juggles in person, I was even more impressed.I got all the help and training I needed to pass my tests on the first try.I thoroughly enjoyed the staff at the Auburn campus.Instructors were invested in my success. I was extremely grateful for that!Cons:Communication about what to expect and how the class would be structured was lacking. I like to know how things will flow so I don’t feel lost in the process.Lacked a bit of consistency or organization. Again, a personal preference of mine.Not very PC. It was a good intro into what real-world trucking would likely be like though.

Auburn Campus office staff Paula and Roni were great. They were always there to assist and answer any questions, even after I completed the course. Very helpful in assisting with job leads. Quality training and Instructors Guy and Mike provided great insight on techniques for driving and backing. Hired 3 days after passing drivers exam.

Enjoyed my experience at CDS.I went from never driving a 10 speed let alone manual to being able to do it comfortably. I highly recommend this school over others.They were pretty patient and got me enough training to be comfortable to drive all the time. The training was enough for me to land a job as well.Their reputation makes it so that you get bumped up in the employment list when applying to jobs. Lots of people know of them and know the students that come out are high quality.

Just graduated from this school, honestly couldnt be happier with my experience here. The ladies in the office Ronnie and Paula are so kind and helpful. I was worried in the beginning about being a female going into a male dominated field but the instructors treated me just the same, all a great group of guys.

They are very understanding and helpful on what you want to accomplish. Al and Thomas are awesome. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to get there CDL..

We had training before, and we had really good experience with the school. Paula are absolutely a great professional placement specialist! Also we really appreciate all of them, and also all instructors are professional and experienced! Especially Chris is the best! Thank you for all you guys!

Attended CDS through my work, the office staff was very professional and very quick when it came to information and documentation that was needed. the instructors were knowledgeable and worked on a one on one. Mike has many years of experience and any little detail he gave was for success. i’d recommend anyone looking to better their career with a CDL to attend auburn.

I enrolled in the school and graduated last year, and I know I choose the best school for my CDL A training. all the staff is nice, professional, friendly, and so welcome! Even now I have a question they still reply back to me and help me to provide information of job replacement if you wanna be a professional driver, come here to get your training!

Wonderful school, great instructors. Doing night shift was a blast with the best instructor.(Chris) Throughout the whole thing, classroom and yard the instructors keep it light. Really cool that they actually care. The front desk is also nice (Ronnie and Paula) even though they’re always busy, are still very friendly. Also good working with the Awesome Campus Director: Ashlee. And of coarse can’t forget Matt. Wink wink :)

Good school. They teach you what you need to know for the difficult driving test/pre trip/ and backing exercises. The reason Im marking 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because my first instructor I had was rather rude and immature and yelled at me. But when I talked to the office staff they got me away from him. And also we had staff members quit on us mid training. That being said I did get everything I needed to pass and I did.

Really great experience. Everyone is really professional and knowledgeable. They teach you everything you need to know to get your CDL and help you every step of the way. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in getting their CDL.

Learn to drive, drive to learn.

This has been one of the most enlightening challenges Ive come across in my life. Im 54 years old and tired of the same old. This school has backed me up, taught me everything I need to know. Stood beside me, taught, tutored me along the whole way. Now that Im a graduate there are still beside me helping me with resume and getting me job interviews My future looks bright. Life changing experience and probably one of the best moves Ive made so far. I wish I wouldve did this long time ago.I highly recommend this school for anyone that is looking to get their Class A or any other commercial driving license. The instructors and office personnel are all great. The entire staff was very helpful and willing to give you the best learning experience. Even after I completed my course they called to make sure I was lined up for jobs.All the instructors are very knowledgeable and always made sure we were learning and getting the proper amount of hours in. I had even fallen behind in hours logged, but the instructor (Mike) was willing to come in on his day off just to help me get my drive hours up to speed. Mike is an excellent teacher. He explains the whole process very clearly. If you have a chance to work with him take advantage of it. If not, as I stated earlier, theyre all awesome and you wont be disappointed. The staff here made sure I was gonna graduate with everything I needed for the next big venture. Matt went above and beyond to make sure I was confident. I recommend anyone to this school who wants to be in this field!

This school is amazing. Tom and Chris(night instructors) are very knowledgeable and do everything they can to help you out. Cant forget about Matt though he is great at helping people with their resumes and getting people jobs. I would highly recommend coming here for your cdl.

I signed up for this CDL school and the guy that helped me named Matt, had a very hard time communicating with me after he secured my deposit. I talked with Ashley the manager about this issue and after, he was very rude and unprofessional.  I ended up changing my mind about this school and got my money back. Ashley didn’t do much beyond offer a lame apology on his behalf and was more concerned about a bad review than the fact that her employe was the one damaging her company not me. I am going to a different school where they value the thousands of dollars i plan to Drop. I believe race was a big factor.Also The whole time we sat filling out paperwork, he was not wearing a mask.Overall very disappointed and Dissatisfied

Just graduated from here today actually. This school is good at what they do. I highly recommend. They took a wet behind the ears kid like me and taught me to drive a truck. Thanks to the crew there I now have a job driving.

Going into the school i was very hesitant because i did not know if this was the right thing that i wanted to do. After the first day in the classroom i knew i was in the right place. All the staff here is outstanding and they want you to pass your drive test!! I had an amazing time while i attended this school and i would recommend it to anyone that wants their CDL.

This is by far one of the best training experiences I have received. The instructors take the time to make sure you are comfortable and ready to to test for your CDL. So far the experience I have had with their trucks when they take them on the road.1. Coming to a complete stop to do a right turn onto a street when there was no other vehicle on the road they were turning onto.2. Driving 20 miles under the speed limit. The posted limit was 35 and they could not drive the truck faster than 15.Even driving behind a person with a learners permit who has never drove a day in their life was better than driving behind a person from this company.

UPDATE: CDS contacted me shortly after this initial review and got me squared away with the DOL. They were very apologetic and respectful handling this situation and assured me this was not the normal operations for them which I truly believe. Although my initial experience with CDS was not great they handled the situation with absolute professionalism and were very sincere in their apology. This response along with the quality of the classroom portion they taught deserves 4/5 stars.I took the Hazmat Course here and had two big problems with this school. The communication and organization is terrible. When I initially signed up over the phone with Matt Chambers he charged my card for $700 and said he would send an email to me with a receipt and documents to sign immediately after. After an hour I got nothing and called back but I was bounced around for the next 3 days saying Matt wasnt available each time I called. After three days I spoke with one of Matts bosses who was able to get him to call me back and send me the receipt and paperwork to fill out. The actual classroom portion with Andrew McNeeley was excellent and I passed the DOL test no problem. HOWEVER the DOL told me the school never input me as having taken or completed the course and was unable to give me the HAZMAT endorsement until after the school input me correctly. Im still waiting for the school to do this as I am writing this review the same day. Additionally the school and Andrew McNeeley both told me that they would input students with the DOL the same day we finished the course; I tested two days after completing the course. Overall the material they teach is great but in my experience they made me jump through too many unnecessary hoops which should have been taken care of on their end such as getting a receipt, receiving documents which needed to be filled out and signed for proper enrollment, and not informing the DOL of my completion of the course. Because of these reasons and the fact I dont have my hazmat endorsement yet despite doing everything on my end correctly I am giving CDS 2/5 stars.

My experience at CDS Auburn has been one of the funnest, most enjoyable times of my life. The instructors are very patient and relaxed and make you feel comfortable. The ladys in the office are very welcoming and always make sure to set out cookies for me 😁😎 I would recomend this campus above most because the instructors are some of the funnest people to be around. SIDE NOTE: Marlow is the funniest.

I was skeptical when starting out, even though I’ve had experience in a truck. The classroom instructor was very nice, funny and made all of us feel comfortable in class. The school director Ashley enrolled me in class and got me all setup in such a short notice. The driving instructors are calm and very informative and have the patience of a saint. If I had to do it all over again I would in a heart beat!

The shut downs due to Covid-19 only made my job search more challenging.Paula Cherkasova not only made sure I had the hot job list promptly whenever I asked, but Paula also made sure to send me any new leads that came across her desk for the area I was targeting.It was that extra effort on Paula’s part that landed the perfect job for me! Incredible place with staff who are dedicated to your success. Everyone is willing to go the extra mile to make sure you are ready to test. Scheduling is very flexible for work hours, classes cover every point beginning to end for the DOL test. So my experience was fantastic starting with Tom, Chris, and Trish taught me so much they each compliment each other in different areas of drive styles Trish really made it simple learning to shift I had bad habits but she made it easier. The yard time with backing was taught by Chris and Tom and they explained it well and I learned quite a bit Chris helped with a couple of bad habits while drive, all of them communicate well... The office ladies were helpful every time I needed anything... The pre-trip was lacking but they fixed the problem so over all I recommend CDS OF AUBURN great experience Thanks guys for everything...........

The instructors were amazing, but the school lied about how once u go to their school you will be a part of the family for life. Thats a lie, I got my license and asked the school to help me look for a job and they never once helped me. I was sitting at home for 2 months looking for a job but no one wants to hire a nun experience driver out of school. I keeper texting them and asking them to help but no response. But whenever I got a question about the school they are quick to respond but when its time to ask if they can help me with a job, no response. Honestly they just need new staff that care about the students. Nothing against you matt and chris yall made my experience alot better.

I was scared at first but extremely excited to be apart of the class. Once I met the instructors and talked with them I felt at ease .they really work with you until you feel comfortable being in and around the Vehicles . It was also comforting to know that most of the instructors were graduates and in the same spot as I was at one time . Rule number one they thought me was go at your on Pace . When your comfortable enough to yesterday go for it .

I went to CDL class A training here over the past month. I had a great experience the staff in the office was friendly and always helpful. I did the day time class and all the driving and pretrip instructors are awesome. They are patient and teach everyone as an individual they would often stay after class for extra 30 minutes to an hour to help students who are getting ready to take DOL test or to help students falling behind . Also the instructors are thrilled once you pass your test and receive your license! Big thanks to Mike who helped me most of all. I would definitely recommend going to this CDL school Auburn location. Thanks CDS!

Its a great place and a great instructors. I had a week training with Vince great guy sence of humor and come to the practical training I had a difficulty backing the track thanks to Al he showed me and persuaded me, but I had bad experience with one instructor who was using all kinds of bad words. Words of discouragement such us saying I shouldnt have left the city after he have that I have missed to put couple gears. Also I was doing straight backing and I didnt stop at the last corn so I put the track on top of a little hill and then the trailer got stuck in the hill so they have to pull the track to get it out and the instructor was so mad as if I killed someone and saying words I cant even write them here. He said I have been training for two years and I havent seen student like this. Thanks to Al and Larry and two chris of their encouragement. I cant thank enough.

I highly recommend this school if you are thinking of getting into the trucking industry. The instructors and staff help you with anything you have questions on and are willing to work with you and guide you through everything.

Class A CDL graduate! Its about a 4-5 week training experience. They get you ready for your test and future employment. Super cool and friendly staff (shout out to Matt)! I graduated in May of 2016. It was a great school to attend and the instructors are awesome. They promise that if you go to their school that you can come back for more training at any time and they will assist you in getting a job if you ever become displaced.

The instructors at CDS great. They are truly invested in your success. They are attentive to the smallest details of instruction and safety. They are also easy to work with, friendly and approachable.The office staff are all knowledgeable about truck driving as well and everyone takes part in making sure that you are prepared to pass the tests.Once you get your license they are still there to help you get a job. They helped me to polish my resume and gave me leads on jobs advice on interviews. They also set a a practice drive for me going in to do a check ride for a prospective employer.I also liked that many of the instructors are Veterans and I was honored to work with them. Each instructor brings there own perspective to the table and should be able to click at least 1 or 2 them. Daniel and Al were particularly helpful to me.This school is first class! They get my highest possible praise.

I just graduated from cds. I feel that this school sets the standard for cdl training. From the instructors to the office staff. Everybody was extremely professional and knowledgeable. It was a great experience that prepared me for the trucking industry.

Matthew chambers did a phenomenal job on helping me sign up for class and good old Graig helped me with my driving and did a great job.

I graduated from CDS (Commercial Driver School) last year and got my Class A CDL. The training program was topnotch - from the classroom work, transitioning to the field training, practice times, and additionally, the instructors were very knowledgeable and understanding. It didnt stop there, as CDS frequently checked with me regarding job placements. I was able to secure both the TWIC and HAZMAT credentials as CDS was able to provide directions for those especialized requirements/endorsement. To date, I have moved up job-wise at the same employment due to my CDL. I will keep recommending CDS to my peers!
