I had a great experience here learning and getting the help I needed, they really pushed me to be successful and were all over me to push me to succeed! I was stressed working a full time job and doing my classes during the pandemic, but when you really want something nothing should be able to stop you, there should not be any excuses of not being able to succeed, a lot of people are scared and haven’t even tried it! You always have to try before you say you can’t accomplish something. Drive and positivity is what drove me to graduate. Me myself and I did this.

I was very excited about going back to school, but I feel like I just wasted my money with this school. They have poor communication. I was not given any notice that the Career Coordinator and her supervisor were no longer with the company. It was important for me to know who I would be communicating with because I was working on the exiting part of the program. Just like any graduate, I was hoping for a ceremony. I even spent $300.00 dollars on a package for my cap, grown and accessories and they tell me that due to funds there is not going to be a ceremony. What in the world? I am paying $10,000 plus and you cant afford a ceremony. I took my classes online, I was paying for own my utilities and internet. I have yet to receive my diploma. I would advise those of you that would like to further your education to go to a school that values who you are. Dont be just another paycheck.

Absolutely love this college! Im very impressed, to say the least. Took a 27-week course, was taught 1 subject (module) at a time over a period of 3 weeks, each class was only held twice a week, 1hr and 30 minutes long, and the professors all knew what they were talking about and made sure everyone understood before moving on to another subject. I started January 4 and completed the course on July 18 and it seems like this all went by in no time, and now Im just waiting on my certificate in the mail. Would I do this again? Yes, I probably would. Would I recommend it to friends and family? Most definitely. Keep up the good work!

I went to SCI for training to receive my CDL. I have never driven a semi truck before so this was a new experience for me never the less I went in with an open mind and listened to instructions given. At first there was a bit of confusion and back and forth with the former instructor but then came Elly and Alex who worked hard to get course back on track.Alex is an excellent instructor he used his pass military training to drill in how to do the maneuvers and it helped me a lot.I got my CDL and I am very happy and thankful for the help from these guys.NB: I would recommend the course include more in classroom time. This will give the students the opportunity to get their questions and concerns answered and voiced.Thank you SCI.

I attended SCI for a Welding Certification. The Office staff was always welcoming and willing to help students. The Welding department Houses Experienced welders as Instructors with the knowledge to teach their students. The Welding Instructors were always entertaining and understanding of student mistakes. The welding department (depending on instructor) has a open door policy for previous students to come in and practice for potential jobs or advise.I enjoyed my time at SCI, and learned so much. I recommend it for Welding.

I did an online program powered by Woz U via Southern Careers Institute. I did not receive any services from SCI once I was in the program. Additionally, I did not receive any career services or any kind of support with finding a job, or even throughout the program. I am super unhappy and disappointed as SCI got paid tuition for nothing. Even the certificate is printed out on a cheap paper which looks fake. In addition, they could just have sent a digital copy rather than wasting a paper and putting an effort to even mail one which I cannot even frame.I suggest signing up with the program directly on Woz U website, or other institute such Bethel Tech which is opposite to SCI.

When I did get ahold of someone they asked for the addresses because they do not email them. I provided the addresses and asked for confirmation and have been ghosted. It is embarrassing that these school want to consider me for the program and I cant even provided them with the transcripts they are requesting. I used online option as well since early January and nothing. I even have a copy of a letter they gave my current college and sent it via email and asked them if they would send it. I thought I was helping with the search since it was so long ago and the registrar who sent it still works at SCI. I get that it was so long ago but am I suppose to miss out on the opportunity of acceptance for a Masters program because of it. I guess I will keep trying. I have never gotten a voicemail and or voicemail full so much before. Only when I call the number provided below from the person who response to this rating. I have so many damn numbers and an email and only got responded to once ! and STILL nothing. MY GOODNESS!

Welding program is decent. ALOT of room for improvement. I’ve only been welding 7 months and it’s that obvious even to me. But I guess you get what you pay for. Instructors are cool and very knowledgeable based on pure experience. I honestly learned a lot. It’s more of a you get out what you put in as far hands on lab goes. Which is good. Journeymen welders are the instructors. But curriculum and time in the lab should more based around weld tests and increasing students ability. I’ll be honest YouTube will be your best friend. Weld.com has very good lab instructors and examples, to apply what’s in the books to hands on experience. Not just, ok go weld. More hands on experience should be applied shoulder to shoulder after a certain point in the program. I get you got to learn the basics first. But eventually it shouldn’t be about filling a coupon with stringer beads but applying knowledge to passing weld tests where as you’ll be doing that the rest of your welding career. I expected more tbh. Contacted career services dept. 2 weeks before i graduated on next steps after graduation. Resume building, job opportunities, where to apply etc. Filled out a form, emailed them my resume. Never heard back from them. Doing everything on my own. The school sells it to you very prestigiously. But this is the very basic of welding schools. You’ll get an NCCER cert. and 7 months experience if your lucky. COVID took a lot of welding time away from a lot of students. Nobody’s fault. Just unfortunate.

Edit: I graduated from SCI in February 2018, two years ago next month. I did recieve a call to enroll to finish my class a few months ago. I explained I graduated and have NOT received my diploma still to this date after asking 4 different times. She gave me the new directors name and number, I called and never got a call back. I have interviewed at pharmacies that told me if I was not certified they would not have called me because of the school and low pass rate of PTCB. As you can see the school left a message but still has not fixed anything. So I wrote a review on SCI and it seems to be deleted....so heres a picture showing my review. VETERANS BEWARE. 12 year veteran here with 100% education benefits and SCI has not refunded my PELL Grant. Also I graduated from here several months ago and have yet to receive any certificate showing the fact. The learning environment as well as the teaching methods are very effective. Overall the environment is very professional in a sense that it sets you up to strive for success as well as provide ways of showing how you should present yourself for the specific job field you are striving for. The institute has a good balance of teaching methods, fun, and an overall friendly environment which really helps bring people into the program as well as mold them in ways other schools wouldnt. I like how there seems to be a perfect balance between the ways of learning what you need to know in a short period of time. Do not enroll in the Medical Billing Program. You need a CPC certification to find a job that you can get online from AAPC for $3500 vs the $10k from SCI. Only job I found was working for someone that defrauded the government & they went bankrupt. Anything else was as an office assistant answering phones, scheduling appts & verifying insurance. Did not learn anything about billing or dealing with insurance companies, processing denials. Do not waste your time or money. They should prepared you for the specific certifications needed for hire and for everything you need to know. SCI taught me bylaws but not about the work. So extremely disappointed.

This place is a joke. When I first signed up, I was told I would have all the resources I need to know everything there is to know about accounting. I talked to Edna, one of the counselors from the San Antonio location. She conveniently failed to mention that the core accounting classes would be completely online and there would be no instructors. All of the students taking the class with me have asked the school why they dont have instructors for the main class were getting our trade for. They claim its because there are not enough students to have a teacher for the accounting class, but they had no problem giving us a teacher for customer service, which shouldnt even be a class because a monkey could do it. This school is so unorganized and they dont know the top from the bottom. They leech upon people who work full time and want to go back to school, knowing full well that they dont have the resources the students need to succeed. To put it bluntly, they are liars. They will not help you, and they couldnt care less whether or not you graduate from the school, Im sure theyll charge me double the interest either way though.

Beware. You are going to be sold things are that just not real. The Southern Careers institute engages in willful and deliberate fraud and deception. The first people you meet are commission paid sales representatives that will bend the truth however they need to get you enrolled. This includes promising certifications that they do not provide and not exactly being clear about what they will actually provide. They are understaffed on instructors and there is a high turnover in there admin departments. They do not actually help you find a job afterward, they just show you the ads you can find yourself by going online.I started in the welding classes in December 2018. I had a newborn baby at home, and thought that adding welding to my business would be great. Instead I was lied to and put into debt but their deceptive practices. I was scammed right after my daughter was born.My salesperson, Nikki, told me I would receive certifications in all 3 styles of welding. (Stick, MIG, and TIG) It wasnt until a few months later that I learned YOU DO NOT GET ANY CERTIFICATIONS. You are taught to weld but you have to go get certified on your own time and pay for that on your own as well. The welding department had twice as many students as the shop could handle. That means you had to share a welding booth. There are no actual classes or lecturing, so when someone is in the booth, you just have to do busy work like sweep or clean or just sit around. 50% of your time there is being spent doing absolutely nothing. Before I got there, they had gone through 5 different instructors in as many months. The staff can be pretty unprofessional as well. The Director of Education once told a story about how much she hates her husbands ex-wife.The person, Wendy, that is in financial aid, intentionally, and self admittedly does not answer her phone or return calls.I was lied to in order to get me to sign up. I took out loans to pay for the school and the school did not follow through on the promises they made. I am a father, husband, and business owner. I went to them because I was sold on them having the same program as a community college, just condensed into 7 months. This is patently false. The positive reviews you are reading have been the product of an incentive or reward. Most of the people I have spoken with that did graduate from the school said attending the school had no bearing on them finding a job. Some of them actually failed the welding tests that the jobs required, meaning that the training was not adequate. I spoke with a few welding and fabrication shops and they told me that going to this school means nothing to them when hiring someone. They said the only reason they will hire someone from a school like this is because they know they can pay them a very low wage. Beware, do not send your self or your children to this place.

I regret wasting my time and resources going to this school. After struggling to make payment over $2500, only to find out that I still owe about $3000, because of interest rate. What their exact interest rate charge?
