Stepping stone is absolutely perfect. Ms. Mary is incredible with the kids, and they provide a nurturing, loving, and enriching environment. Parents get daily updates with photos or videos. I highly recommend this school!!

Stepping Stone is the perfect choice for our son and our family. As a first time mom, I was really nervous about leaving my brand new baby. The staff and teachers quickly put my mind at ease with how genuine and caring they are. After only 4 months, my son shows enthusiasm when I tell him where we’re going, and even more excitement when he sees his teachers in the morning. I am very grateful for Stepping Stone and so happy with our decision to attend.

Thankfully Erica and her hand-picked staff from Stepping Stone-Capitol came over to the Hyde Park location earlier this year, when the Capitol site closed down when the new hospital opened. To re-iterate my previous SS-Capitol review, Erica is to be commended for the operation she runs. Her teachers provide an incredible learning environment for every class, at every phase of the childs development. The food they prepared is nutritious and the children love it. Erica and the staff are open, friendly, and professional.

When my family moved to Austin in January 2016, I looked all over for a nursery school for my three sons.  Before I found Stepping Stone, I had settled on a new nursery school 5 minutes from our house that promised loving teachers, a STEM focus, and a low student-teacher ratio.  However, each time I visited with checkbook in hand, I just couldnt give them a deposit.  Something just seemed off.  The third time I left that school without writing a check, I decided to follow my gut and look for another school.  I found Stepping Stone and immediately called them.  Within 15 minutes, I was talking with Erica, the director, in her office, and before we finished our meeting, I had written her a deposit check for all three of my boys.  That one meeting with Erica gave me the peace of mind that three meetings with the other school couldnt.  Erica and the teachers at Stepping Stone have been integral in helping my family transition from New York City to Austin.

My son has been at Stepping Stones Hyde Park since he was 5 months old and we absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this school. Every teacher is so attentive, loving and caring and I never worry about leaving him there and feel so completely reassured that hes being cared for and loved while i am at work! I couldnt ask for anyone better to look after him and cant recommend the school enough.

Absolutely amazing daycare! Words cannot describe how wonderful they have been for my family and I. I can see how much my son is growing and learning while there - not to mention how much my he loves being there! The staff there are incredible and I cannot say thanks enough for all they do!

Let me start off by saying that the wait to get into Stepping Stone School at Hyde Park was well worth it. This was my husband’s and my first choice for childcare for our son. Of course all of the infant spots at the time were taken and so we were put on a wait list for almost a year. Yikes! I was determined to get him in to this school plus we were really not all that happy with the childcare that he was currently receiving. I called every couple of months just to check and see where we were on the wait list. Kim, the schools Principal, was so helpful, kind, patient, and prompt when communicating with us. She tried helping us get connected with other campuses until we could get into her campus fortunately we did not need to put him anywhere else. Kim called us immediately when there was space available for our son. Happy, happy, joy, joy! We did a second tour with her before our son started so that my husband could see the school. Kim made us feel so comfortable as well as all of the teachers. We really got a chance to see the teachers in action with the babies and the kids. We are also lucky that we took a tour of the school on “splash day”, which was super fun to watch kids and babies splash in water. Our son is super happy at school. Hes excited when I drop him off and he sometimes is a little sad when I pick him up because he wants to continue playing with his friends. He is learning, growing, and just thriving. The teachers care for your child as if it was their own child, which was our number one priority when looking for a school. The communication between parent, teacher, and principal is excellent! We also get an electronic daily report, which tells us exactly what he did for the day. I really like this because you can see what foundations he is working on, what new skills, and what foreign language skills he is working on. The former teacher in me recognizes that these are best practices for kids and their development. We also receive pictures during the day of what our son is doing and the different activities he is participating in. I really could not have asked for a better place for our son to be than Stepping Stone School Hyde Park. Thank you Kim and all of the teachers for making the transition for our son phenomenal. I highly recommend this school!!!

So amazing I wish we could give them 10 stars! I am truly amazed at how much our daughter learned there and how much she bonded with her teachers. From sign language to learning how to count before she was 2! All the teachers there were incredible and the director, Erica, is very experinced. The teachers genuinely seem to enjoy working there and love and know all the kids, not just the ones in their class. Our daughter started when she was 3 months and was there for 2 years until we had to move. On her last day there, her favorite teacher, Miss Margo, got her a present and wrote a super sweet card that really touched us! Overall, Stepping Stone program is just the perfect balance and what an incredible value!! You will not find a better quality daycare at this price!

This is the best place ever. The principal practices hire right theory and the staff really are all great. Their focus is on the kids, no cell phones allowed, and no silly misplaced priorities - like art on the walls being more important than kids. These teachers are allowed and supported in keeping the kids the main focus. The academics are so amazing. Kids are having so much fun, they dont know theyre learning. My little one loves books, can identify all the letters, and is reablly focused on making words. (And she still has another year before kindergarten.) She totally loves her teacher and also knows and loves almost all of them in her building. (So if her teacher ever has to be out, she doesnt feel like shes being thrown in with a stranger.)They also prepare amazing food, which totally helped my little one transaction from the bottle to self feeding. And seeing her peers eat well encouraged her to eat, too. Now she eats a variety of foods and cheers when I offer her salad. So well rounded with all that they do, physical activity that encourages jumping, number matching like a game around the room, working out problems by talking with the other students involved, peer cooperation and really connecting with friends, science experiments, building charts... and the list just keeps going on.

Both boys have attended and benefitted from their time here. There used to be a lot of teacher turnover, but its settled down. The teachers are loving and attentive and they enjoy going to school to see their friends. Get on the list!
