Chris is extremely knowledgeable and an expert at primitive skills, nature and wilderness connection. I highly recommend him as an instructor. I originally met him as my lead instructor for a spring foraging class. I have seen him with children and adults, and he has talents working with people of all ages. This is not just his business, but his passion. He walks the walk and is enjoying these skills even on his free time. Chris is the type of person you want instructing you! He is trustworthy and experienced. I highly recommend any program, class, or workshop with him!

Took the pottery class and it was exhilerating! Came home with some unique home made pieces that were hand crafted with locally harvested clay. The instructor really knows his subject and keeps you tuned in with his passion. Wish more educators knew how to make a class so fun and interesting! Definitely going to take more classes and tell my friends about my great experience! Wow!

Ive know Chris Hyde for nearly five years and have had the great honor of working side by side with him as well as being taught directly from him. He is both knowledgeable and engaging. Some of the topics we have covered include natural pigments, and primitive weapons -- atlatl, spears and bows. I would definitely recommend taking classes with Natureversity, you wont be disappointed!

We’ve hiked McKinney Falls a dozen times or more, but it felt like seeing an old friend for the first time when we went yesterday with the Buzz Mill Lumber Society crew and had the gift of Chris showing us around. His knowledge across so many fields and irrepressible enthusiasm for the outdoors and nature made it a riveting, captivating experience. If you’re reading this and weren’t there, I’m sorry, but luckily for all of us, he does these things regularly. See you at one of them. 👍

Chris program is amazing! Our son and daughter have been in many of Chris Hydes programs over the past 7 years. He makes everything fun, interactive, and memorable. The skills they have learned have included shelter-building, cooking, camouflage, tracking, plant and animal identification, wilderness awareness, fire-making, outdoor safety, first aid, water purification, archery, primitive tool making, and so much more.Chris is constantly improving his own education, and passing that cutting-edge and primitive knowledge onto his students. He makes being outside a positive and amazing experience in all types of weather.I trust Chris with my kids. He is smart, kind, and a natural teacher! He keeps education fun and age-appropriate for all ages from young children through adults. I cant recommend him and Natureversity enough!

Our son always looks forward to the time he spends with his monthly Natureversity group. At the end of their afternoons together, he is frequently filthy, excited, and filled with tales of their adventures and his new discoveries about edible plants, run-ins with creatures, climbing trees, cooking over the fire, fort construction and games they played. He says he feels so free when he is outdoors and we are grateful for the mentor he has found in Chris, as well as the comraderie and teamwork with the other boys. Chris guidance and appreciation of nature inspires our family. He truly cares about the children and takes time to affirm their unique abilities and character.

I took classes from Chris and they were not just educational, they were FUN! Chris has such a passion for what he does, the environment, the earth, nature (of course!), and people too. I learned so much from Natureversity and I had already considered myself an outdoorsy person. I look forward to every single class I take with Chris, he is so excited about life and our connection with our planet! I became a believer of my own influence on the environment after attending his classes; I always blew it off because I didnt think one person, like me, could actually make a difference. If you ever have a chance, you HAVE to go to Natureversity!! Recommended 100%!!!

My son has been in Mr. Chris program for 2 years and counting. Out of all our activities this is his favorite! He has learned about wild edibles, shelter building, plant identification, fire building, water filtering and many team building skills through meaningful games. I highly recommend this program!

My family has taken classes with Chris Hyde for 6 years now. I have 2 children ages 10 and 11 who love natureversity! They have acquired so many different skills from making bow drills, animal traps, plant identification, animal tracking to tincture making and fire and shelter building. Not only has Chris helped my kids learn and appreciate the natural world around them, he has instilled a sense of confidence in them that is apparent when they are outdoors. Natureversitys adult classes are also very cool. I have taken a basket weaving class and it was very fun. I will be taking more classes in the near future. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is looking to expand their knowledge for the natural world.

Mom of two boys, that have been so lucky to have the nature and survival guidance from these programs for the past 5 years. From coming home with primitive tools, to being able to point out and identify plant edibles vs. medicinals, not to mention the joy they have from just being kids in nature submerged in play & teambuilding, my boys have been so enriched to be in Natureversity’s programs. The learning doesn’t stop there, it follows them in how they are inspired to craft their own projects at home, or how they take a nature walks and see, hear, smell the surroundings and are so absorbed in it.These programs are confidence building and really root a child into the earth and their sense of being.
