I attend the adult beginner classes, and they are a highlight of my week! I did not dance growing up and was nervous about feeling out-of-place and too inexperienced, but the staff (and especially the adult instructor, Ms. Emily) and other students are so kind and encouraging. I have learned so much, and gained such a deep appreciation for ballet.

My daughter became a student at Slavin Nadal a few months ago and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her progress from then until now. Ms. Emily is so wonderful and was patient with her even when she started mid-semester. She was able to participate in the Spring recital, which was our first experience at that kind of event and WOW! I was blown away at their performances. What incredible talent! We are moving to Cedar Park next month so we have decided to discontinue due to distance, which makes us sad, but because of this wonderful experience at Slavin Nadal, my daughter plans to continue ballet in the future. Mr. & Mrs. Cox have a fantastic establishment here that I highly recommend.

There are few dance studios in Austin that are seriously dedicated to teaching the art of classical ballet. Add to that the lack of teachers truly qualified to teach such an art. As another Yelper mentioned- this studio is solely ballet. The new directors came to carry on the tradition of the Slavin Nadal studio after they were chosen by Mrs. Slavin Nadal to continue her school. As a parent, I appreciate and honor the choice of bringing such a highly accomplished teacher and equally accomplished his spouse. I want a traditional classical ballet education for my child and this school seems qualified to provide that. The beauty of the technique taught by the Slavin school will be continued with the new directors. A lifelong student and friend of the Slavin studio, a professional dancing career at a highly esteemed level, Masters in dance, and then teacher of dance at the university level...these are the things the new director brings and I believe this level of accomplishment added with the uniqueness of being with a studio that has become an icon in the Austin arts scene makes this studio the only logical choice for parents and students alike looking for a truly quality program. This level of qualifications is not found in the Austin area standard dance school and this is what parents shouldlook for when choosing to invest the time and money in a ballet education.

A wonderful ballet studio with terrific new directors. Ive enjoyed adult classes here for over twenty years with Eugene Slavin, Alexandra Nadal and other instructors. My daughter also loved her years taking class with Mrs. Nadal. They were exquisite teachers offering fine classical training in an inclusive atmosphere. The Slavins chose new directors to take over the studio and in January, Joseph Cox, who trained and danced with the Slavins, began running the studio with his wife, Kimberly. These talented former professional dancers are carrying on the tradition of providing excellent training in a welcoming environment. It continues to be a privilege to study ballet at the Slavin Nadal studio.

I studied with Mrs. Slavin as an adult and my daughter studied with her as well. The new directors Mr. and Mrs. Cox were sought out by the Mrs. Slavin when she knew she decided to pass the studio on to a new generation. The Coxs studied under the Slavin for many years and went on to have exceptional careers as professional dancers and later as accomplished teachers and professors.I am confident that my daughter is getting the best ballet education to be found in the Austin area. Watching them teach anyone can see that they are passionate, not only about ballet, but about teaching ballet. Mr. and Mrs. Cox give individual attention to each and every student meeting that student where he or she is physically and mentally.I believe the Slavins knew what they wanted for their dancers and sought out the ideal successors to continue their vision.

I have danced at Slavin-Nadal since the age of four (a little over 10 years). The classes are kept small enough to allow one on one interaction between the teacher and student. Although I have never danced anywhere else, I have friends who have danced at other studios and I know how much of a impact this one on one teaching makes upon the student. The small classes also allow a very tight bond to form between you and your classmates and your teachers. In addition to being taught the beautiful Russian technique of ballet, I have been taught to have discipline which I have been able to carry into other areas of my life, and which will benefit me no matter what I do in my life.

I love it at Slavin-Nadal! The studio feels like a second home to me, and the students and teachers are like family. At Slavin-Nadal, you get to learn the Vaganova style ballet, where you learn that the teachers are always right (as many of the older students constantly state). The teachers never focus on just one student. They walk around the room, correcting each of the girls in the class. The class is small enough that the instructor can focus on each student yet big enough to use at least three barres during barre work. You receive a certain level of discipline that can be used in everyday life. I think this is one of the best studios Ive been to and know that I will support it for years.

One of the few Vaganova method schools in Austin. Top notch instruction with the former directors of Ballet Austin, Eugene and Alexandra Slavin.Ive been attending Slavin-Nadal School of Ballet for 4 years now and feel of all the ballet studios in town, this place has pushed me the most technically and artistically. The facilities are easily accessible via bus and theres ample free parking.
