Great teachers and style of Kung Fu to learn. My two boys love the lessons and have become much stronger and more coordinated and confident.Just realized my review is one year old and we still love Austin Kung Fu Academy! The school keeps growing and they have been able to add a lot of more advanced opportunities for training for the kids who have been there a while. They are going to tournaments and training with weapons now. Its kept my two sons interested and excited in their sport and its really helped them both grow as people. My older son is getting experience now as an assistant, and my younger one is trying hard to improve his focus in class.

Aaron is my Sidai (younger Kung Fu brother) under Grandmaster Moy Tung, and his Kung Fu is solid. Hes been training under Moy Tung since the early 90s and has also done a great deal of training in NY under Grandmaster Moy Yat. Whatever you want to do with Ving Tsun, he can show you how to do it - basic self-defense or the complete Moy Yat Ving Tsun system. Hes also a master and teacher of Kettlebell training.

My kid has been taking classes for over two years. It is so great to see him use kung fu when hes dancing (for example)! Kung fu becomes part of life.

My daughter loves Kung Fu and Mr. Rick. She is very proud of the skills she has learned, the sash level she has achieved and this program has really boosted her confidence. I would highly recommend Austin Kung Fu Academy.

My 10 year old son really enjoys the classes. His instructor is great with young kids with high energy.

Ive enjoyed the cardio kickboxing classes so far. Rick is a great instructor and changes it up a little each time we meet with him (classes are Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). They have two different rates: paying by the class which is 8 dollars per class and a 10 class pack for 60 dollars. The latter in my opinion is a better deal. In addition, you can choose the days you want to use the class for. Sometimes I cant make it a certain week but its not counted against me (balla!).Expect to get a good workout. Different techniques are taught so dont expect to only learn kickboxing techniques. I felt like some of the exercises that we do in the beginning of class ties more with tai chi/karate. Another plus? My classes have never exceeded three people. I do wish though more attention was paid on technique. If youre here to lose calories and have a good time, its worth checking this place out.
