I was never a fan of group classes until I joined fit and fearless!! I wanted a gym to learn self defense and found fit and fearless on google. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and classes! Its an all women owned gym, which is awesome! If you want a good workout or to learn a new skill, fit and fearless is the place to do it!

Fit and Fearless is AWESOME!!! I have always struggled to find a form of exercise that speaks to me and motivates me to continue going after those first couple weeks of excitement wear off. F&F not only kicks your butt, it teaches you how to kick butt!! It is such a wonderful community to be a part of AND it’s women owned!! BONUS!

I had some limited experience with F&F a couple of years ago with the previous owners and old location - enough that I remembered the fun I had and wanted to do it again. Ive been going to the new F&F location for about 6 months now and the fun is still there :) The new owners, Amie, Amelia, and Ana are badasses; all the staff are so knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. Everyone, including the members are genuinely interested in seeing and accepting folks as they are while reminding them that they are stronger than they think.

Did the 6 week challenge a few months ago, and it really paid off! I exceeded my target body fat percentage after just 3 weeks (4% loss target, I was at 4.3% loss), and continued to improve my body for the remained til I ended at a whopping 6.1% loss! The meal program is easy to follow, and not did not cost me anymore than what I was already paying for groceries (less even)! The workouts are intense, and so fun. Anyone can meet their goals here!

This place is awesome! They specialize in the Isrealy Armys martial art, Krav Maga. They also put some fitness emphasis on it too. They have classes for ages 4 - adult. My 8 year old son has been going twice a week for about 6 months now, and he loves it! I notice a huge difference after about a month in. His hand/eye coordination has greatly improved, and he has a lot more confidence! We will be enrolling my 4 year old this year. If I can free up some time, Im going to start too.

Navigating covid was near impossible for a lot of businesses, and with some changes, FnF was able to thrive. I have found my sanctuary here in Austin, Fit and Fearless has so much to offer its members. In the past four years I have advanced in kickboxing, sparring and grappling at this gym and I feel much more confident out in public. I feel I can protect myself better and defend against unwanted attention, especially persons bigger than myself. To walk without fear is our motto! Besides the challenging workouts, I have made family here, and I dont know where I would be without them. We support one another to the fullest, and always plan get-togethers outside of the gym. They gym is something that brought us all together, and we continue to strive for more success whether it be competing against one another, or having each others back. No matter if youre in a good mood or a bad one, you will leave this gym smiling. The community is no joke. I love it here more than any other gym in Austin. XOXOXO

I wanted to wait a full year before I gave a review for FnF, but now seems to be the best time! I joined in January of 2020 after I was harassed in a parking lot by two giant men. FnF has really been a second home for me this year, and Anna, Amie, and Amelia have all encouraged and supported me. Through Covid quarantine and exercising on Zoom to reopening this fall, Fit and Fearless has always been there, supporting me and pushing me to reach my goals. Its almost my one year anniversary, and Im so glad that joined a wonderful gym full of wonderful people! I NEVER thought that Id truly enjoy exercise, but this has been the only great part of 2020.

I signed up for the 6 week challenge and havent looked back. FnF is a gem of mom and pop gyms. Brandon and Jessica do an amazing job organizing incredible instructors and programming to keep you challenged and feeling great. Regardless of your work schedule you can find something that works for you. No matter what level you are, instructors and class mates are always helpful. Whether technique or accountability, there is always a balance to keep you on track. Thank you Brandon, Jessica and all of FnF!

I participated in a virtual Self Defense Class and it was AMAZING! I had never taken a class like that before, so was definitely a beginner by all definitions. Ana took the time to clearly communicate the stances, hand movements and methods to make sure all defensive moves were done properly, which was very impressive since this was done virtually. She encouraged me to step out of my female shell and embrace the if you mess with me, I will defend myself till the end mindset. Little did I know how badly I needed to learn how to tap into that. We punched pillows, imagined burglars, fought them off and yelled from deep within. I have since taught these techniques to friends and family members who were not in the class and each time I do, I feel like a total badass!! I HIGHLY recommend Fit and Fearless. Hopefully I can attend a class in person soon!

Fit and Fearless is the best for self defense! Ive been to 3 other self defense gyms in Austin and this is by far the best structured, most practical, and absolutely the best workout. They focus on technique as well as endurance.Ive been a member here for about 1.5 years and have seen my endurance increase dramatically. Ive learned some great skills and am continually challenged to improve. The beginning of class is an intense warm up, followed by some basic skills, and then a real life scenario drill. You really never know when youll need these skills, so the practical real life drills really bring everything home.Robins level 1 classes are amazing. She focuses on technique and makes sure we all have fun while we are there. She spends a lot of time one-on-one with the students to ensure any questions they have get answered and they are continuously improving.

Outstanding workout, outstanding self defense training, outstanding instructors and facility, and a great group of people to train with. No one is not fit enough or too fit to get the most out of a workout, whether the work out takes the form of krav fit, which seems to be fairly similar to cross fit, or one of their self defense classes, which primarily focus on krav maga (a definite contender for the best modern day self defense martial art of self defence is your goal), but they do not limit their instructors to krav, so you can work on ju jitsu skills, mma attack combos, or attend active shooter seminars and the like.A perfect fit for Austin, the instructors and staff are personable and open minded, and host regular meet and greets where students and instructors can enjoy their new familys company at a theme park, a lake side bbq, playing laser tag, or any number of other frequently scheduled activities.

I get unsure about things really quickly. Having never done any kind of martial arts or crossfit training before, I never had second thoughts or felt unsure about coming to class the next day. Krav Maga has given me a lot of freedom. I have a past of coping with anxiety and trauma—so I wondered if self defense might help. I tried out Fit and Fearless’ Women’s self defense class and I’ve been hooked ever since. The instructors are consistent, clear, and caring—acknowledging and encouraging progress throughout training. They are also exceptional at responding to needs and respecting boundaries. The gym has so many options for every level of training and they promote community over competition. Before I started training, I’d have nightmares about being attacked or targeted—I’d try to hit back and just feel powerless. Now, as cheesy as it sounds, I barely have nightmares. And on the rare occasion that I do, I can finally put up a good fight. I highly recommend F&F if you’re looking for a safe environment to learn self defense or if you want to challenge yourself with a new skill. A popular reason people choose Krav Maga can be defined by the founder of the technique, Imi Lichtenfield: “so that one may walk in peace.” F&F’s community ensures that you will always walk in peace, and that you’ll never walk alone.

I love Fit and Fearless! I started here with some nervousness because I wasnt in great shape, and I dont like typical gyms with a bunch of machines and one size fits all instruction. I was so happy to find a safe, encouraging environment with people of every size, shape, weight and age, all working to find their best self. At Fit and Fearless, we can learn self-defense Krav Maga, ground fighting Jju Jitsu techniques, and kickboxing. There are lots of opportunities for sparring and even one-on-one training available. There are fitness classes--Heavy Bag, Combatives Conditioning, and Krav Fit--that are aimed at getting you to your goals. AND what I love most is the staff who are here to motivate, teach, and applaud you along the way! Making friends in class and at monthly Meet & Greet events, participating in team and individual challenges, and getting to know our amazing instructors...this is what makes Fit and Fearless THE BEST! I joined Fit and Fearless in January 2013 after a friend recommended trying Krav Maga and from the first lesson I loved it! Its a great combination of exercise and self-defense techniques, and there is no ceremony to it. Its purely about how to defend yourself in the most efficient way possible (which is usually to be aggressive right back). Fit and Fearless have always been friendly and welcoming. Ive visited other studios and the machismo is overwhelming - F&F are like an extended family. Youll quickly get to know the staff and instructors on a first name basis -and theyll know you - and youll have fun at their social events too. Highly recommend this place! Why?In Short: Training is awesome, Instructors are awesome and your partners are awesome. The lengthy version:A couple of weeks ago I was looking for something challenging and fun at the same time. I went to the gym in Germany but here I couldn’t get used to it - and I got one around the corner within my apartment complex. So different ideas came up but the most promising was Krav Maga. I haven’t done self-defence or martial arts since I was a little kid but I still remember how demanding it could be.Since I got a bigger frame, I was not sure if this was the right way to go or not so the first visit was a 50/50 thing. Should I stay or should I go? I mean, I’m new to this and so on…Luckily I went over there and the whole experience from checking in, getting the tour and taking the first class was awesome. First I thought everyone is a Master in the class and I’m the new guy who looks like a turtle on the ground. But fear not, you are joining others in class 1 which are probably just as new as you are. We got all the different ages and sizes here so no excuse or worries. The instructors are so helpful and always ready to show you how to do certain things, they really take care of the class and thats what got me signing up for a membership.Stop by, don’t be afraid and you’ll see what I mean - thats all I can say and the 1 session is free!Really, the biggest selling point for me was the group in the class and the instructors I had so far. Shout out to Francisco, Liz and Brad - you guys are awesome! It’s fun and its demanding - but thats what you are looking for anyways! See you this week!

I grew up training Jeet Kune Do and then a few years ago a friend of mine introduced me to Krav Maga.I loved it. It felt like the perfect compliment to my JKD training. So I decided to start looking for gyms.My #1 priority was to find a place that taught effective Krav Maga (as opposed to just a fitness version) while also being full of friendly, down to earth training partners without a lot of ego going on.From the moment I started training at Fit & Fearless it felt great. I work in the evenings, so the fact that it has noon classes was perfect for me. And the instructors give you a lot of attention. Plus, several of them have other martial arts styles under their belts as well. So theres a good amount of knowledge to pull from.I recently tested to become a Level 2 student. The test was hard but this place is no McDojo either. You know you earned it.Even though I grew up training in martial arts, Krav Maga is great for beginners. So even if youve never done it before, you should come in and try it.

Fit & Fearless is a community. One pillar of it, in particular, is Parker Westbrook -- my favorite instructor. All of the instructors are fantastic in terms of their technique and teaching ability, but Parker provides stories. Shes able to make a technique or drill make sense and become relevant. She embodies the first principle of Krav Maga and thats to avoid a fight in the first place. Everything becomes a game in her class and she always has a new trick up her sleeve. Her classes are far more tactical and teach you self-possession and craftiness. She encourages us to run like crazy and cheat our way through any drill, wherever possible, because there is no such thing as cheating in Krav. The brain never goes autopilot in her classes and her workouts rarely ever feels like exercise because of that. She is as kind as she is powerful; always making herself available to students and is very supportive for problems happening outside the classroom as well. The confidence and reassurance you walk away with is much more salient.

Ive been a member at Fit & Fearless for about a year now & it has been a transformative experience. I was looking for way to get a good workout with real world practicality and self-defense seemed like a useful skill to have on hand. The staff and members are very welcoming and helpful to beginners. That made it easy to keep coming back for another intense hour of Krav. The group lesson format allows for everyone, regardless of experience, to push themselves beyond their personal limit. All of the instructors are skilled at explaining technique and drilling us to perform under stress and fatigue to develop a fighting spirit. Every instructor has their own teaching style and its helpful to get different perspectives on the system. One instructor Id like to spotlight is Robin. In Level 1 class, her method of teaching combatives and defenses is easy to understand and repeat. In Combatives Conditioning, her tabatas and functional exercises will totally wipe you out and get your endorphins flowing. Her music selection is motivational, too. Anyway, if you are considering learning self-defense, this is the place to do it. After a trial session, youll know if its for you.

I cannot say enough about how much I love Fit & Fearless. I joined in June 2012 with an objective to lose weight and get fit. What I got was that and so much more. I lost over 100 pounds in 6 months and gained an incredible life skill and some wonderful friendships. I have done boxing and kickboxing classes in the past but was looking for something different. I love the practical application of Krav Maga. Classes are split between a cardio warm-up, high intensity skill work and drills, and self-defense techniques. Each class is different - learning to protect against strikes, kicks, chokes, headlocks, knives, guns, and group attacks. In addition to Krav Maga, Fit and Fearless offers Combatives Conditioning, KO Bag, Yoga, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Crossfit. I typically go to F&F twice a day (morning and night) and often do a double hitter in the evenings. This is so much more than a gym - they do such a great job of creating a community where everyone knows each other and enjoys special events at the gym and around Austin. Everyone - the owners, program managers, instructors, and classmates are absolutely wonderful, supportive, and encouraging and will push you to work hard and continually improve. I work in far NW Austin, and chose where I live to allow me to be within a reasonable distance of this gym because I love it that much. You will love it too!
