My son started going to this daycare when he was 1 and every single day after his first he has loves being there. I absolutely adore everyone there and enjoy seeing the videos and picture updates everyday. Laura, Lauren, Mindy, Jessica, Staci, and Shonda are always so helpful and relieve any anxiety I may have when I drop off my son. They know him and he knows them and it just gives me so much joy to know he’s safe and that people are there to care for him if I can be there.

Our family started at Bright Horizons (BH) Braker Lane back in November of 2018 with our daughter, Eila. Eila fell in love with her teachers in the infant program, and we felt like the teachers fell in love with her as well! She stayed at BH into their 2s program, until we had our 2nd child, Rhys. When Rhys was born, we pulled the kids out to try and save some money by sending them to a cheaper school. We quickly discovered that, as with most things in life, you really do get what you pay for...after about 3 weeks, we decided to enroll both of our kids back at BH. We made the decision to cut back in other areas of our lives because when it comes to childcare, it is impossible to settle for less once youve had your kids at a place like this. The teachers at BH are a giant stride ahead of the teachers at the other daycare that we tried. BH teachers foster relationships between the children so that the classroom is a place where the kids are happy to be (so much so that our daughter asks to go on the weekends). They send pictures and notes regularly so you can talk to your children about their day and be more involved with the kids at home. The teachers are encouraged by BH to pursue a higher education through a tuition-reimbursement program, so they are generally happier (keeping the turnover rates lower) and becoming better at what they do every day. Everything from the intellectual activities and programs to the creative activities and the teacher-child relationships are unmatched in our experience and we are tremendously happy and grateful to be back!

My 4 year old son has attended Bright Horizons Braker since he was 7 months old. My husband and I visited a few other schools in the area but we knew when we met school Director Michelle and Asst Dir Lily we had found the right school! We have been through all classes (infant, toddler, twos, preschool and are now in kinder prep) Over the years the staff has become like family. Weve also made friends with several of the parents outside of school which has been great! Weve never had an issue with any of our sons teachers (they are all very qualified and have extensive experience with young children) and feel the children receive exemplary care and guidance during their time at Bright Horizons. The teachers, along with Center Director Michelle and Asst Dir Lily are always available to talk about anything, they really get to know all of the children very well as well as the parents. We enjoy the parent/teacher conferences which allow undivided time to discuss your childs growth and development. The center is always very clean, classrooms are well appointed and regular activities are planned (Chinese New Year parade, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Splash Days in summertime, etc.) Weve also always felt the children eat very well. The school menu is fresh, delicious and varied including organic milk and vegetarian options. Many mornings the whole center smells so good I want to come back at lunch and eat :) Bright Horizons Braker is conveniently located close to all major roads and employers in the area. Weve been very happy with our sons time at Bright Horizons Braker and will be sad to leave when he starts elementary school in the fall

Lovely, compassionate teachers. My daughter has blossomed and loves the STEM based curriculum. We have seen such growth in her language and affect in just a few months and are grateful to the team at Bright Horizons Braker Lane for running such an exemplary facility.

Great place. Very friendly staff. I have met several teachers and they are very patient and caring. That is very important with the little kids and babies. The app is a plus, it’s a good way keep parents updated throughout the day.

My kid has been enrolled at Bright horizon Braker Ln since 2017, and his last day was two weeks ago. Weve been very disappointed with this school ...and have on multiple occasions considered withdrawing him. This day-care has been going in bad direction in every aspect. Important to mention that Bright Horizon tuition is one of the most expensive in north Austin. The straw that broke the camel’s back was that no one from Bright Horizon management/staff bothered to let us know that our kid started the transition process to preschool, nobody told us who is the teacher. We just found out accidentally after his first day at preschool. The teacher turnover is huge. In theory, every classroom is supposed to have two teachers and a ratio of 1:8. In reality, there was only a single lead teacher and a different assistant every 2-3 day, the management is struggling to maintain the ration because they don’t have enough teachers and their solution for that is to move children from their permanent class to another class or to move a lead teacher from her permanent class to another class to replace another teacher. In addition, the quality of the teachers seems to have declined as well. Feels that they will hire anyone – with no skills or experience for this job what so ever. When the lead teacher was on vacation or sick, the class was in complete chaos. The substitute teachers failed to control the situation, they put diaper on my kid even though he was potty trained for months, one of the mothers helped the staff to serve breakfast because it was getting late, many kids cried hysterically because the lead teacher was out and they don’t know the substitute teachers. I talked with the assistant manager about this and she said they are trying to hire new teachers, but they don’t even have candidates. Why they don’t have candidates?! (these teachers are under paid. Maybe they would have candidates if the salary was better). I told the assistant manager that we pay a lot of money and still they can’t find teachers, so maybe I should move my kid out, she reply that maybe I should..The lead teacher that was relatively good resigned, and her assistant became the lead teacher. We got a lead teacher that didn’t say hello to our kid in the morning and didn’t say goodbye at the pickup. On drop off she didn’t even look at my kid, she used to stand with her back to us and didn’t even bothered to turn. My kid and I used to stand in the class for along time and wait for her to say something or look at us but nothing, like we dont exist . Every drop off my kid was crying, didn’t want to stay with her. Not a big surprise.Management. I had a lot of conversations with the assistant manager, the manager and the regional manager, brought up all the problems, they didn’t do anything, only gave me excuses and dishonesty. This is an outrage, we paid the highest tuition at least in north Austin and got bad treatment. Very bad experience and bad value for money.

The My Bright Day app they use keeps me updated all day on my son’s meals, naps, diaper changes, and learning activities. It’s expensive but quite worth it to know what he’s up to all day and to be able to drop in any time. Though my son doesn’t eat solids yet, I find the lunch menu impressive and I’ll be happy to let him eat what they serve when that time comes. The teachers and directors really get to know every single child. Highly recommended!

My son attended this facility for almost two years and we loved his experience here. He had a great time, learned a lot of things but the most important is that they seemed to really care about the kids. The menu is great and everything is cooked in their kitchen for their Chef. Very satisfied and looking forward to enroll our daughter soon.

Updating my review now that my daughter has been at BH on Braker for over a year. We’ve had an amazing experience at this daycare from the infant classroom since my daughter was 7 months with Ms.Qaisar to her current classroom with Toddlers with Ms.Crystal and Ms.Nicole. There was a period of time where there was teacher turnover, but every teacher we’ve had we’ve loved and genuinely felt that they loved our little girl. The center Director Michelle and assistant Director Lily are both engaged with every child and know each of their names (kids I don’t know or see regularly) and help out in each of the classrooms when needed. I get informative and timely emails from them on the latest activities as well as things like the water ban recently in Austin where the center laid out their exact plans for handling each circumstance and made me feel at peace. We were initially wanting to send our daughter to another program before we found BH and we’re so thankful we ended up here. The cost being higher is made up by covering lunch and snacks for the kids and us not having to worry about packing food each day, thanks Mr. Juan! Also agree with other parents that I love the app! Wish it were updated more in real-time but understand the teachers are handling toddlers after all. Thank you everyone at BH Braker Lane, keep up the good work 👍🏼

Ive had two kiddos at BH spanning the last 7 years. We moved to this location after a bad experience at a non BH daycare, and we fell in love immediately. Every single person there seemed genuinely invested in every child there. We kept thinking our boys were every ones favorite, but I think they made every parent feel that way.Slowly (mainly over the last 2 or so years) things have begun to slide down hill. The teachers just dont seem to care as much, management is nearly non existent. We used to get such regular, clear and concise emails from the front office and teachers anytime something was going on, changing or needed to be shared. Now we feel like we never really know what is going on there. One of the teachers we currently have is so uninvolved she barely says hello to us or even the kids. There have been several instances where Id be in the room with just her and my child and not a single word was exchanged. Not a hello, how are you, how is you kiddo, have a great day...nothing. And when I would instigate a conversation it was like I was talking to someone else. Then I hear that she has informed my son NOT to wear shoes with laces...she does not want to tie his shoes. You work with 5 yr olds...you tie shoes, wipe up snot and help out in the bathroom sometimes. My boys used to come home daily and tell us all about the great things they learned...now they usually just tell us they colored, pasted and cut things out. This is a kindergarten prep class! There are still great teachers there, but the amazing service and feeling we used to have is way gone.Im not saying dont send your kiddos there, its still a good place, the kids are safe, nothing going on is harmful, but you will not be wowed, you will not be impressed and I can no longer sing their praises like I used to. This location was a 6 star review before recent downward trends.AND, weve spoken to several parents (at least 3-4) who all had identical feedback. Perhaps we were all spoiled, but dont expect to be spoiled anymore.
