We have been thrilled with Saint Austin since our child entered there 7 years ago. The curriculum is excellent and the community is welcoming and involved. The children are also taught the importance of personal values and community service. Our child loves the environment and has thrived at the school.

We have had 4 wonderful years at St Austin. The sense of community is strong among the families, which supports the goals of the school in educating the whole student. The teachers have been wonderful and the administration has been doing great work to keep this school with a long heritage fresh with curriculum and facilities.

We have two children in the school and think this is the best parenting decision we have made in our house. Its perfect for us. The teachers are focused on fundamentals and the community is encouraging.

Our two children have been attending Austin for 8 and 5 years. The school has been wonderful for their growth in so many ways--academically, spiritually, community support, leadership, and building strong friendships. The entire community is so supportive, with the teachers and principal giving our children a wonderful place to develop and succeed. Our children adore their teachers, the principal, the community, and their friends.

We have two children in the school and couldnt be happier. There is no community that compares to St. Austin. My husband and I are continuously impressed with the students and staff. They are some of the most polite, well rounded and supportive kids. There is a relentless focus on curriculum, special learning opportunities and the benefit of the downtown location which extends the campus to UT, the State Capitol, Blanton Museum and more.

Loved our 1st year experience there, left after the 2nd year. The school has a very lax attitude toward safety, supervision, and enforcing rules.Safety locks on doors were frequently not working, and remained so for weeks.Kids in younger grades were frequently given movies to watch that had nothing to do with classroom material (almost daily toward the end of school). With the lights out, one teacher would supervise at the back of the room while grading papers. Really horrible stuff I cant even put on-line occurred during these times. When brought to the attention of administration, little to nothing was done. The Eagles Nest (after-care) program was frequently full-on chaos. Too few people supervising a large number of kids, the person in charge was always yelling to get kids to behave, which was hopeless, and they had NO IDEA what some of the kids were doing.Older kids frequently had electronics that, per the rules, they were not suppose to have...not to mention the mature content they were viewing.

I am an alumna of St. Austins Catholic School. From kindergarten all the way to 8th grade, I made lifelong friends, learned valuable life lessons, and gained the skills necessary to succeed in high school, as well as college. I would recommend this school to parents looking to send their children to a small learning environment with caring leaders, role models, and a welcoming environment for all.
