I am an Austin area physician, and over the years, my kids have attended multiple private Christian schools in Austin. Some Ive liked a lot, others not so much. Strickland is by far my favorite. Both the teachers and principal are kind and have sweet spirits. They are very caring. The education is both affordable and excellent. It is as good as at schools where Ive paid $20,000+, at a fraction of the price. Unlike most public and some private schools, Strickland provides a very safe environment. Im unaware of any incidents of drug or alcohol use, or any incidents of bullying. There is strong camaraderie amongst the students. The school is racially diverse, and there are many students of mixed races(including my children), allowing kids from different backgrounds to easily fit in. I would highly encourage anybody who is looking for an affordable Christ-centered school to consider Strickland Christian School.

Great school, my son is going into the second grade. He can do math up to and including multiplication and writes in cursive. They also have a nice music and Spanish language curriculum. The discipline was tough at first but my sons attitude and work ethic continue to improve. The teachers are very communicative and know their subjects well. In addition the principal is open and pleasant. As well as being honest about the childrens progress. I would and do recommend Strickland Christian Academy to everyone I can.

This school is truly a gem! I have three children attending there and I am so glad we found this amazing school. Their curriculum is top notch and the teachers are kind and caring. All of my children have scored 2-3 grades higher then most children their age in standardized tests! Although my kids are intelligent, I must give most of the credit to Stricklands knowledgeable and engaging teachers! Another reason why we love this school is because its Christ centered; something that was at the top of our list when searching for schools. The school does a fine job at teaching kids discipline and structure, some may view this as strict; however, there is a good balance. There are activities for the kids and a great community of families.

My son started at Strickland in kindergarten (K5) when he was 5. He only knew his alphabets and knew the sounds of most of his alphabets. To my amazement in March, during his Spring break, merely six months later, I heard him read the Newspaper. Strickland is one of the cheapest private schools in Austin. If you ask high school students that have left Strickland to go to public schools, they would tell you that Strickland definitely prepared them academically. My child is loved and cared for. The teachers at Strickland love to teach and seem like they never have a bad day. He is part of a small classroom where he is getting individual attention. Above all, he is learning Biblical values that will stay with him for a lifetime. I am not constantly worrying about my child since I know he is in a safe place. I would recommend Strickland to anyone who is looking for a private school that is affordable, excels in academics and fosters Christian values.

Couldn’t have asked for more in a school. Teachers are no-nonsense and run a tight ship, but kids learn at high speed and know they are loved and well taken care of... Well done Strickland!

So very happy that our daughter is in this school. The classroom sizes are small which allows for more one on one attention. The academics are more advance than most schools due to the teaching methods. The methods are important because your child will be more advanced in their education, without being pushed too hard to attain that level. My daughter memorizes scripture, is already starting to read short words and shes only in K4. The teachers are nice and supportive and really care for the kids.

While public schools are busy paying for advertising because enrollment is declining (somehow in the midst of Austins astronomical growth?!), renaming schools, and dealing with drugs, the debate on transgender bathrooms, and other things -- Strickland Christian School is educating young boys and girls. Strickland is consistent. Strickland has educational demands that stretch the kids to work and grow their minds, while also being a caring, nurturing environment for both those who may struggle and those who may excel. Our son attended public school through 7th grade and was always near top in his class...but lacked significant fundamentals in learning and most especially in self-responsibility and work ethic. In one year at Strickland he was faced with demands he had not previously faced, but also had teachers who applied themselves to helping him through it and it has worked wonders in both grounding him and building his confidence.Camaraderie in the kids is high, as is parental involvement. Strickland is humble, yet with high standards. Hard working, doing more with less. It is also one of the most fun, friendly environments for our children.I cannot say enough about the dedication of the teachers and administrators. They truly love the work and the kids, and it shows in the way they apply themselves to challenge, grow and nurture smart, capable young citizens, both for the life in the world, and life in the service Gods kingdom for the betterment of those around them. I have more joy seeing my kids grow in Strickland than many years in public school.Do you want your kids to be challenged to excel above public school standards? To learn behaviors for all of life? To receive one on one attention from teachers? To engage with multi-ethnic kids their age in a wholesome environment? To actually be the change that the public schools seek? Send them to Strickland!

My son has been attending this school for 3 years. We absolutely love this school and the care and attention each individual child gets here. My son is in 1st grade and he can solve 3rd grade math. Its like a small loving and caring community of teachers and parents who work really hard to provide the best learning environment to the kids. Another great thing is that tuition is very affordable considering that it is private school which provides better level of education than comparable schools in the area. This is a great Christian school with great teachers!! I would recommend everyone with young kids to at least visit them and check their curriculum.

Strickland Christian School has been one of the best decisions weve made for our child!!! We fell in love with the school the moment we walked in. The teachers love the children and are there to teach and mentor them. The phonics they teach is amazing; I never thought my child would be reading at age 4!! My daughter has learned so much in the couple months shes been there. It is a very affordable place!Best of all though; it is a Christian school!! All the teachers are Christian and they are taught bible verses, taught morales and values according the the bible. It is such a joy to have my daughter go there. I have two younger children who will also be attending as soon as they are of age!! I would recommend this school to everyone! oh and what I also enjoy is that this is a community school and everyone is close knit.

Our daughter went to Strickland many years ago when it was located in North Austin. She attended kindergarten and 1st grade. We were very impressed with the education she received at Strickland and thrilled they used the Bible as one of their textbooks. Shortly, after she completed the 1st grade we moved to California. Her 2nd grade teacher was very surprised as well as impressed that our daughter could read so well and incursive write at such a young age. Later that year she tested out for their accelerated program. For this we owe to the excellence of Strickland School. She graduated from college with 2 degrees and an MBA!!

Our oldest daughter went here through 2nd grade and now my youngest daughter is here and will likely be here through 2nd grade as well. It is a great foundation building school and as mentioned in the other review they are loved and learning. They are all about the phonics and start reading by the end of pre-K (K4). They also build a strong Christian foundation which is extremely important. We are blessed to have this school as an option to us.
