I as a student i will say this school is far the worst i have attended, most teachers let kids run wild and do not teach the material, but settle to give them busy work. The only things that come out of this school are: criminals, substance abusers, and flat out trash. With the occasional good student that goes into a great scholars program or struggles through normal classes with the other students stealing their education through childishness.

Experienced horribly low self-esteem, and many other problems at this school. Second It is a psychologically damaging environment that no undeserving child should have to endure! Third HORRIBLE Bullying in the school and a discrace

This high school has an alarming rate of the school administrators Beating high school students.This place is the very reason why we need National legislation to put a stop to these people and this abuse. When an educator has to pick up a wooden board to try to teach he/she ceases to educate and has failed. This is outrageous legalized abuse by the Principal and Assistant principal and all those involved including those witnesses they get that like to watch.

Since Principal Stevens was hired WHS has become a much more stable and safe learning environment for teachers and students. A previous poster mentioned WHS didnt have many students, and that comment is totally false because WHS has 1,100 students. A previous poster compared the school to his 2006 experience most logical people understand schools change over 12 years. Like all large public schools with students from many diverse backgrounds the school has its challenges, but overall it is making progress. Here are a few of Woodlawn High Schools recent achievements.-Jazz Band 3 straight years of Superior ratings at Loyola Jazz festival (arguably toughest Jazz competition in America).-Prostart cooking/cuisine National teacher of the year Chef Oubre.-FCS club (Fellowship of Christian Students) fundraised $7,000 to build a fresh water well for a needy village in Swaziland Africa-Boys Soccer two straight State semifinals appearances-Football 5 straight playoff appearances

I am going there in 3 years and that is a good school

Terrible! One of the kids over heard that one of the children was going to bring a gun to school and shoot people up. This was reported to the office and never did we get a follow up phone call. Later we found out the child was caught on school grounds with a weapon of some sort. One of the worst schools in terms of safety. If you value your childs life find another school.
