Comparing to the other driving school it’s the GREAT driving school ever! The instructor teaches you the tricks for the parking and gives more than one tries (adjust) during the exam such as the parking part! Other school, they only let you have one try and if you can’t make it, they just move on.Go to this school for a lesson, exams and take the warm up lesson before the exam!

10/10 would recommend IDA! I took both my permit written exam and my driving test here.I took 10 hours class and it was just perfect. I learned how to parallel park, back around the corner, drive on the highway (merge, enter, exit, switch lane) in no time.Joyce is a true natural when it comes to teaching. She’s very patient, knowledgeable, and attentive. She would never yell at you. Each lesson, she would introduce a new challenge!I will really really miss driving with Her! Seriously, stop looking for other driving test locations - this is the one you want.I booked a quick review lesson followed immediately by a driving test. In total, I spent two hours behind the wheel next to Joyce, who, although was a complete stranger, made me feel perfectly comfortable the whole entire time. She shared her vast knowledge of Washington driving laws and nuances, taught me new tips and tricks for mastering some trickier maneuvers, and then proceeded to professionally and fairly evaluate my driving during the test.Weve all heard the horror stories about awful driving instructors and driving test evaluators. Joyce is the complete opposite, to the point where she decided to give me a second chance on my test when a weird encounter with another driver ruined my ability to pass. She saved me weeks of time in doing so, and Im very grateful for it.PS. When paying her after your lesson/test, be sure to tip her. The application she uses to process payments doesnt make it clear that this is an option, and a glare on the screen caused me to miss it entirely. She deserves the tip!

Joyce is a really great tester. I came in only to take the driving test and was somewhat nervous, but she made the whole experience very enjoyable. If youre confused at any point or with any instruction, you can just ask her to clarify and she will gladly do so. Her directions are always anticipated and given with time, so you never have to do any crazy maneuvers. No trick questions; concise and straight to the point. At the end of the test, we went over the results, what I did well, and what could be improved. Got my license a couple of weeks later. 10/10 would test again.

I booked a lesson with Joyce and she taught me a lot of the skills that I cant learn on my own. On my testing date she helped me calm my nerves during the warmup so I was able to pass the road test. Joyce is very skilled and patient. Definitely recommend doing lessons and testing here. It is also easy to schedule an appointment too.

I have never posted a review but Joyces teaching made me want to write one. Shes a fantastic instructor. I have went through 3 different driving schools and Joyce is by far the most patient and professional instructor. She really wants you to not only pass the test but also learn to drive safely and defensively.

The best driving school out there. I never rode a bicycle as a child, so you can image how terrifying a vehicle is to me. Joyce is super patient, she teaches not only the basic but what you need to do to be safe on the road. My covid driving experience with her was the best. I failed the test on my first try, with my lack of confidence Joyce persisted and got me to where she wanted on my second try. She will warn you, that you will learn on the road one day.🤣 so getting it now will be better than on the road. She made me not afraid of the freeway, now I drive everywhere now. And I understand the importance of checking all the mirrors. When Im alone on the road I can feel safe, because of the training I received from her.

First thing first, I would highly recommend IDA and Joyce if you have any needs in driving!I took my knowledge test, driving lessons as well as road test all at IDA and I was super impressed by how helpful Joyce was throughout the process. Instead of throwing you to the road directly, she started with detailed explanations of the vehicle, sharing tips and tricks, emphasizing the importance to be a defensive driver. All these notes stay in my mind even after my lessons.During driving, Joyce always made the experience fantastic. After a very bad experience with another driving school, this was a real refreshing experience. Joyce is very professional, consciousness and really passionate about what she does. Highly recommend the warm up if you want to get some specific practice in before the test. If youre worried about parallel parking shell teach you how to do it in no time. Would highly recommend!

Joyce was a great instructor. In just two lessons she really improved my confidence in driving. She taught me easy methods that I think I can remember in the longterm. Yes, she cares about you passing the test, which I did, but she also cares about you becoming a safe driver. I really enjoyed meeting Joyce and Im glad to have had her as my teacher.

The DOL makes you jump through hoops to get a WA drivers license, even if you have a valid drivers license from another country + an expired license from another state... But despite all this nonsense, Joyce is there to make it a worthwhile experience. Whether you are and experienced driver or not, there is still something Joyce can teach you... So if you have no choice but to take the exams, you might as make it worth your time and money. She is extremely good at what she does.

IDA made getting my WA license easy! The DOL here has so many unclear hoops to jump through that Joyce was able to clear up for me. Finding the entrance is a little weird, Its in a somewhat shared office with a daycare on the north side of the building.

Hey a great experience with Joyce! In total, I drove 10 hours and had my licensing exam with her. She was a fantastic teacher in that she was attentive, supportive, and thoughtful. She would notice when I was feeling stressed, and helped me get comfortable with driving. When some concepts were hard to understand, like parallel parking, she took the time to think of a way to get me to fully understand. Moreover, Joyce helped me get reading for a licensing exam in a week! She was kind in booking lessons through the Thanksgiving holidays. Highly recommend her as an instructor!

I took 15 hours lessons and both knowledge test and driving test here. Joyce is literally the best. I am glad that I found this academy. Before I took the lessons I even didn’t know what the car buttons are for and how cars move. She taught me driving from the basics. I took my knowledge test and driving test here within the last month.Scheduling was easy with quick response times by email. Weekend scheduling is a great option to have for people that work during the normal hours and I took advantage of that.I just took the tests and do not have much insight into the instruction/lessons, but Joyce is very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. We had a great conversation after my road test about driving habits and defensive driving in general.I had a high quality experience during my short time with IDA and would recommend them to anyone trying to decide where to take their tests.

This is a great driving school for anyone new to the USA or from out of state. Joyce is a patient and understanding instructor who has an excellent understanding of international traffic rules and how things differ (what to watch out for) in Washington. I took my test in a relatively new Kia saloon which was easy to drive safely and smoothly. Recommended.

I was looking for a road test , got the appointment within 2 days.They explained me about the test properly , like what are the things they are going to note during test and explained me the procedure properly.It was a test of apprx 30 minutes , During the test they asked to perform all the actions and at the end of road test shared the result with me , and uploaded the same to website. It was really a nice experience.I recommend the driving school to everyone.

When I went to IDA, Joyce was such a kind instructor who was very familiar with the driving process and the learning process behind driving. Highly recommend this place over the big driving schools!! Joyce is an excellent instructor. She provided very specific tips to improve instead of providing vague instructions. Since she takes all classes, she can see your progress and focus on areas of improvement. Her two hour class format is helpful. She can also relate to foreign drivers who already have driving experience. Had a lot of fun learning with her and passed my test within a week. IDA can be pricer than other schools specially if youre taking lessons on non office hours but it is totally worth it. She is mostly booked and needs to be reached out in advance. Although she kindly does try to accommodate urgent requests for classes.

I recently relocated back to the U.S. from Europe and needed to get a new drivers license in Washington State. I took both the knowledge and driving tests (on different days) at IDA. Even though Ive been driving for over 20 years, I decided to do an hour-long refresher course right before taking the driving test to make sure I passed. We practiced parallel parking, driving in reverse around a corner, and all of the skills needed to pass the exam - which I did on the first try. Make sure you pre-apply for your license before going to take any tests (on License eXpress), as youll need to provide a WA driver ID# when you arrive for the tests (this will become your new drivers license number). I highly recommend working with Joyce at IDA. She was friendly, easy to communicate with, and follows COVID-19 protocols.

International School is a perfect place for mandarin -speaking people to get the license. Joyce can deliver the instructions both in English and Mandarin. Although I had 20+ years driving experiences before I came to this school,Joyce gave me a lot of skills I had never heard before. She also gave specific instructions to correct my old wrong unsafe habits, and clarify all different rules between countries.

I had a fantastic experience here. I am an experienced driver who moved from overseas, and needed to get a license. I did the knowledge and driving test on the same day (on a Sunday no less), with a half hour warm-up lesson beforehand. The warm-up was great as I learnt a few Washington specific things, and got comfortable driving with the examiner. All up, they were very professional, super convenient and an absolute pleasure doing business with. I definitely recommend.

Joyce is a great teacher. I took the 35 min warmup before the driving test and it was really helpful for me. Even if you have been driving for a long time, you might not realize the bad habits that you picked up along the years. Joyce is great in explaining the differences between driving in Asia and the US and you would still benefit from it even if you have been driving for some time.

I moved to the U.S. last year for the first time and had to get a new driving license. Joyce was a great instructor for someone like me who knew how to drive but wasnt familiar with the U.S. driving culture and the minor differences in rules. She is very knowledgeable and knows how to taylor the instruction based on your needs. She is also very patient, on-point and humorous. I had a great experience and Id recommend her for anyone who either wants to get a license for the first time, or just wants to refresh their memory.

Joyce is an ideal instructor who helps you build your confidence behind the wheel. She gives very thorough instructions regarding best driving practices and also scenarios that you should avoid in traffic.Shes a really funny and open-minded person who makes you enjoy driving. I really recommend her if you want to become a good defensive driver.

While I had driven earlier in life it had been nearly 20 years since I had my drivers license and I was having a lot of anxiety about my return to the road. I wanted to make sure that I was ready to be a safe and defensive driver in the craziness that is Seattle driving these days. I looked around for quite a while, but many of the driving schools came with poor reviews. I was so happy to find IDA had such good reviews, so I decided to contact them . Communication was quick and responsive and the scheduling was easy to fit with mine.Joyce of IDA puts Safety first! While she is preparing you for the test, its always most important to teach you how to be aware, always thinking, safe and courteous while you are on the road. I thought I knew most of the basics and tactics of driving, but Joyce taught me SO MUCH. I would share my lessons with some friends who are experienced drivers, and they always learned something they didnt know previously.Beyond the great skills lessons, she is also an incredibly friendly and fun teacher who treats you like family. Everything about my time with IDA exceeded my expectations. I HIGHLY recommend IDA as you will not find a better teacher or experience. I was actually a little sad when I passed my test as I knew my time driving with Joyce had ended.

Joyce is the best driving instructor Ive ever seen. Shes very knowledgeable about driving, and she has a developed a very efficient methodological approach to teach the nitty gritty details about driving which are very important to road safety yet a lot of ppl with years of experience dont know about. Shes also very patient in teaching and a delightful person to spend time with. Only someone truly passionate about driving and teaching driving could accomplish what she has been providing to her students.Im absolutely happy to choose her as my driving instructor and would recommend her to anyone whos interested in learning to drive.
