I’ve been training here in the adult classes for a few months now. Mike Agoff is the real deal, the material is practical, the training will get you into shape. The others that train here have always been friendly and helpful to me. No nonsense, just a solid place to train. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderful instructor and community. All the skills learned are focused on being useful in real world situations which will help everyone feel safer, more comfortable and confident when out in the world in these uncertain times. The physical training component are a great work out and remain challenging regardless your fitness level. I recommend this school for both children and adults who want a well rounded core to their martial arts practice. Classes are now hybrid zoom and in person since COVID.

Always a great time at Bay Area Martial Arts! Its a clean and cozy family-run gym. The adult class is an awesome workout and great way to learn technical and practical fighting and self defense skills. Not only are the Agoffs friendly and knowledgable, but the whole gym really feels like a community - the people who work out or have kids taking classes are very kind, and watching the kids in their uniforms after class is always adorable.

We have been taking my 5-year-old son to Bay Area Martial Arts for around 6 months. He loves the classes and teachers. And it is amazing how much progress he has made in discipline, fitness, and striking.

This is an exceptional martial arts studio. Our seven year old son is thriving with the structure and teaching style. I give this my highest recommendation for children looking to learn a new skill. Mr. Agoff is a great influence on our son.

The best self defense martial arts classes in the bay area. Period. If you are looking for flashy sport martial arts, you should go to a MMA gym. This place will teach you street fighting techniques that are not allowed in MMA or boxing, or Jiu Jitsu because those are sports, not self defense techniques. The instructor has been a martial artist his entire life and combines the best techniques from a multitude of styles for street application. There are no top dogs in the classes, no egos, just friendly people from many different backgrounds that love martial arts. The zoom classes during COVID are really great, you still get personalized instruction, and its actually better for honing your skills. Highly recommend for people interested in combining fitness and self defense.

Wonderful school of martial arts! I Mike and Sarah are outstanding teachers and truly care about the kids! They teach life lessons, respect and hard work as well as excellent martial arts skills and fitness. These skills carry over into other areas of life and sports. The repetitive teaching and practice of the shoulder roll alone has probably saved one of my sons from potentially bad falls in sports. If you are considering enrolling your child or yourself in one of their programs, just do it! You will be happy that you did.
