We recently enrolled our son in the youth program because we were having a lot of issues with him at home and we thought that some structure would be good. Right from the beginning our communications with Tony were excellent. We brought our son in for a free trial class to see how he liked it and even though it was really confusing for him he absolutely begged us to take him back again. We have already noticed an improvement in his attitude and his emotional health. Coach Tony and all the helpers are absolutely top notch when working with kids, especially ours who has a processing disorder. I would highly recommend Mathers especially for children to help them build and learn some very valuable life traits.

Update Oct 2021: They pride themselves on helping with accountability, but at the first sign of you shying away, they no longer want to help you. They use money as a blackmail and the programs are very restrictive. Did not help my relationship with food and led me down a dark path. I would not recommend.I just finished my 6 week challenge and it was definitely challenging but the results are paying off! I can definitely see a difference in my body composition and I feel a lot better too. I have so much more energy!

Professor Tony is an excellent instructor. He is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about your success. The Academy is very open and inviting to new people who join or those who just want to drop in and give it a try. You are never too old or too out of shape to start. So stop reading this already and give it a shot. You will be glad you did.

Dont fall for their Boot camp scam they run, unfortunately my wife fell for it and didnt tell me all the details in this contract. What program makes you do all this work then at the end of it if you dont get the results your supposed to get, you owe them money or you can use an in-store credit to go to there classes! Should be the other way around if you dont get the results class should be free.

I love the bootcamp class! I’m not motivated enough to workout on my own at home so I really like that I can go to the class and always get a great workout. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and this place is great for beginners or those with experience.

Excellent and professional instruction is what you will receive from Tony and crew. He is very detailed and thorough with his instruction, and always starts with the basics and the why. Every technique taught has a well thought out and articulated reason behind it, what its good for, and where it falls short. We have plenty of opportunity to practice under his watchful eye, and he is an excellent coach and motivator! Love the BJJ classes here!

READ THE CONTRACTMy husband and I were very interested in doing the “free” boot camp class, and I have no doubt they could have earned a lifelong customer, we both like to excercise and this seemed like it might be a fun chance to change things up a little bit. We went in for the scheduled consultation only to find out we would have to pay a total of $1000 which had to be paid in full prior to beginning the classes. So we were pressured into putting down a deposit that day, then made to sign a contract stating that if we did not meet the goal of 25lbs lost in 6 weeks or lose like 15% body fat, plus checking in on Facebook every single session, plus doing some kind of group chat we would be required to send proof of the groceries/meals that we bought out of pocket to follow the cook book that would be provided for us to follow, plus attend every single session which were only offered at very limited times/days of the week (we both work full time jobs and have children), PLUS we would be required to give a 5 star review about how wonderful of a program it is! and if we didn’t meet the requirements stated in the contract, they would keep the total of $1000 paid for the so called “free” boot camp class. Good thing I actually read the contract... After a day or two of consideration we decided this was just way too much for a couple free group workouts and a cook book. To each their own and I’m hoping some of these reviews are genuine and people really did get what they signed up for, but I was extremely disappointed with how they went about advertising this and tricking people into coming to their gym.Constructive criticism- Maybe offer an actual free class one day a week/month even if you’re needing to gain clientele that badly. Don’t try to trick good people into unrealistic scams to “earn” their money back for something originally advertised as free. 👎🏼

Excellent academy ran by a legit black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu. Professor Tonys technique is excellent and he teaches in a way that even beginners can understand. The adult class is excellent and it comes with an ego free environment. The kids bjj class is hands down the best this area has to offer. If you are looking for a fun way to get in shape and learn self defense, be sure to check this place out. Also there are no contracts to sign, sign up fees, or testing fees whatsoever!

For those that dont know, it takes many many years to get a BJJ black belt. It takes ultra discipline and sacrifice for the art. This explains Tony and his character. He is also a Navy veteran, one of the best guys you could meet. Highly recommend his classes if you truly want to learn BJJ!

My two sons and I have been training at Mathers Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness for close to two years now, and we love it! I have lost 30 pounds since starting BJJ and Muay Thai, and my sons confidence and fitness levels have increased greatly. We love the atmosphere, and the cost to train there is very reasonable.

Bentonville is so luck to have this new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym. Anthony Mathers the owner and head coach has his black belt in BJJ and it is his passion to teach his skills. The benefit of this gym is that it is small which allows you to get more personalized lessons unlike other gyms that are overly crowded. This gym has another bonus, a fitness side. Amy Mathers, an ACE Certified Trainer teaches some heart pumping classes making you want to come back for more.
