Amanda Owens has done my hair twice and given me 2 facials. She takes her time and really helps me get to the end result I’m looking to have! I have been to salons in the city where I live and I can’t find anyone who actually takes the time to make sure y lines are even, I’m faded correctly,& I can style my hair. She really goes above and beyond!

3/16/21 Hope B. gave me a spectacular facial today! It was my first time getting a real facial at a spa and she helped me to feel comfortable and relaxed. Given the price of the signature facial, I was amazed at the quality and length of time dedicated to it. I’m glowing rn I swear. I will definitely be going back soon to taste test each of their services. Hope B. will only be at Tricocci for 2 more months so anyone reading this review should make haste!

A student did this to my hair after I asked for a trim. The worst part is the SUPERVISOR (who has been there a long time) checked me off and let me leave like this. I didnt know anything was wrong with my hair until class the next day where my college art professor told me and fixed it herself. I ended up having to take off almost 4 more inches when all I wanted was a trim. When I called to ask why they let me leave and PAY for my failed haircut the supervisor admitted she saw all the mistakes but could have cared less.

I was hesitant to get my hair done at a school. Let me tell you I regret not doing it sooner. I absolutely love this place. The vibe is amazing everyone is extremely friendly and professional. I think since it is a school you get treated better than a typical salon. My boys love going to get their hair cuts now! Oh and the prices are amazing!! I started with a cut came back for coloring and a pedicure!! This is my new favorite place!!

I dont know what corona did to this place, but PLEASE teach your students that women color their hair so that they dont walk around with Grey hair. My first visit there last year was amazing! Cheap, and my hair was revitalized! Friday could not have been more different. I walked in and asked for a trim and my roots to be blended into my BLONDE hair. I dont care if my hair is salon quality, thats why I do it myself and that wont change after yesterday. I made it clear that my hair needed to stay the same color and just my roots needed work. 4 HOURS LATER I leave after being charged double my last visit (and what I was quoted) to have a full head of GREY HAIR. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I gave simple instructions, only to have them completely ignored like I was another doll to be practiced on. I cannot estimate the amount of damage that will be done to my hair to Attempt to get it back to blonde. Im walking around looking like an 80 year old woman. I even told her that I only had to come in bc my sister usually cuts my hair and she just DIED and I still get my hair completely ruined. She even kept me turned away from the mirror like she knew she wasnt doing what I asked. Ive learned my lesson, thats for sure. Some girls just dont deserve pretty hair, I guess 😭

Actually this is a school where students learning and practice also on customers ,poor learning and poor result on you , students try to do in right way not professional

Courtney did a fantastic job on my hair. She did a highlight, toner, cut, and style and was thoroughly impressed with her skills. I would recommend her & the school to anyone. Very professional and great at what she does. Almost forgot she was a student and not a pro!Thanks Court!!!

Initially when I walked in, I got a very warm greeting and was offered coffee. All of the workers were super helpful. Lindsay, my hair stylist, talked with me for a couple minutes about my goals for my hair and what she wants to do in order to achieve those goals. The location itself is very relaxing and cute inside. Would definitely recommend, especially with Lindsay!

Every time I go to Tricoci to get my hair done, I always ask for Lindsey Wilson! She does an amazing job on my color and cut! She always takes the time to listen to what I’m asking for as well as gives me her professional input in on what’s best for my hair! I would highly recommend her to anyone that is wanting to go to Tricoci! I will definitely be following her once she graduates!!

I got my hair lightened for the first time ever at Tricoci, and they did a great job! They were really good about telling me upfront that it would cost a bit more due to the dark box color on it, and they did a shampoo cap while lightening it to make it healthier. Destiny and Ashley were awesome!

I used Tricoci for wedding hair and makeup for myself and 5 bridesmaids. Our experience was great! The students were very professional and did an amazing job. All of the bridesmaids looked beautiful! The student that did my hair and makeup, Savannah, was wonderful and I would certainly recommend her to others. I looked and felt beautiful thanks to her!

My husband and I walked in today to treat ourselves to a pedicure. The salon was very busy but the lovely folks at the front desk fit us in, and we were quickly taken back to clean, cheerful facility. Kaylee was upbeat, pleasant to chat with, and took great care of my winter worm feet. I feel like a new woman!

The Staff, Students, and Teachers all did a great job making sure we accomplished our hair color goal. They communicated well with myself and each other about the process, step by step and informed me on how to maintain the color and health of our hair. Thank you Ashley for doing a great job!

Its a learning process for the students and customers. I was told at the very beginning by an instructor that I was not allowed to be on the floor while my daughter had her hair retouched. Because of this and many other mistakes made through out the process my daughters hair is not what she wanted. We spent 5 hours there and I watched as 4 different students switched off doing her hair. Because of miscommunication the student at the end was trying her best to achieve something we never asked for. Im concerned about the health of my daughters hair and she is not at all happy with the end result. However Im not sure if Im comfortable with returning for a fix. The students tried their best but I feel I should have able to be on the floor to help communicate my minors wants about her hair. And switching stylists during the treatment did nothing but worsen the issue.

First time visit for a facial while my son was getting his hair colored. The facial was a nice treat but made my eyes sting (which they still do 4 hours later- may be an unknown allergy to one of the products). My son has super dense black hair and the color didnt take well but hes okay with it and it shows up better in the sun. Cost was reasonable and well probably return to try other services. Staff was pleasant.

I was scared to get my hair done here, but my friend recommended me to. The prices are so good! I got a balyage done by Abbie, she took so much time on it, making sure my hair was in good shape after the dye :) She did a super good job!!

Third time here and it was just as wonderful as my last visits. The students are very nice and willing to help you if the color/cut isnt what you had in mind. I always recommend this place to my friends are anyone whos looking for a good hair transformation for a low price!

The students and teachers are excellent at Tricoci in Bloomington, always offering a depth of explanation for what they recommend for my hair! I got a trim, scalp treatment and chem-shot to revive my dry/damaged-by-winter hair, and left with it feeling much healthier! Theyre very friendly and creative, being open about what is best for my hair re: new styles!

I’ve been going to Tricoci every since I moved to Bloomington a few years ago. They are cost effective while still staying professional. I always have a good stylist willing to learn and ask questions and I have never left with a bad haircut or color. They all have fun with each other and it really relaxes the environment. I love it here!

I overall enjoyed my experience here for the first time. Everyone is very nice! And a huge thanks to Calab Long for doing my hair, it turned out great!

I have never felt compelled to write a review for anything online until today. I was browsing to see what their hours of operation were (You need to include that on your website, more obviously if it is there.) and I stumbled upon these reviews.Being the MOST recent review, as if that mattered, I want to express how much I appreciate the services provided by the academy. The students have varying experience levels of course, but with a good articulation of what you expect they always deliver. Additionally, I have only had positive experiences with their attitudes. What on earth people complain about when they are in there is beyond me, if a mistake is recognized they will address it immediately. For the price you pay compared to the quality of the service there is nowhere better in town.I could pay 30 dollars for a haircut of a lesser quality by someone who genuinely doesnt care what I think. Or, I can pay 7 and help a student learn and afterwards have their teacher correct anything I feel needs to be changed. Perhaps the misunderstandings come from people who are used to not making decision themselves and depend on their beautician to decide how they ought to look. If you know what you want and know how to politely communicate, the academy is a Godsend in a market that is universally overpriced.

Excellent service! I highly recommend that you give these aspiring hair dressers and aestheticians a chance! Reasonably price with a professional job!

Great price and the students are supervised by excellent teachers.There was a little miscommunication about what I wanted for my hair color, but Lauren was phenomenal. She worked for 4.5 hours straight without a break or lunch. Due to the confusion, the color was a little messed up. They had my come back in 2 days later, at no charge, and I absolutely love it. These ladies work so hard and do an amazing job!

Kaylee was wonderful and very conversational! She did a great job with a simple clear coat and made my eyebrows on fleek! Lindsay, at the front desk, was also super nice and helpful making sure I was taken care of. 7 out of 5

I decided to get my hair cut at the last minute and came as a walk-in. I didnt have to wait more than a minute or two. Miranda cut my hair. I showed her a picture, and she described everything it would take, then called over the instructor/supervisor to make sure. She was really thorough and did a fantastic job! Definitely coming back--cant beat the service, especially at the price they charge!

I will start by saying I am one of those people who like to do drastic, almost impossible color changes to my hair. Savannah was up for the challenge for me today and blew me away. She totally got my vision and exceeded my expectations. If you ever need someone to color your hair, highly recommend her.

Hair arts is the best school! The instructors really work with you and make sure you understand what your doing! I was scared to start school there but once I did I loved it! All the students are very helpful and just good energy!

Went in to get my nails gel painted. Not kidding, two hours later and I had to get the gel removed because it looked so bad. My five year old could have done better. Didnt get charge thankfully, I should have been paid for the two hours I wasted. Also, my cuticles are still bleeding from the lack of skill. Might need to still need a doctor because of the warmth and redness. Will be calling them if I have an infection. Terrible service .Will never return.

Got hair colored and highlighted and cut extremely short. Hairdresser was super personable and fantastic and diligent.

Great prices for good service. They may still be learning but they do an excellent job and take their time making sure that you are happy with the result.

I went to get a trim of two inches and layers ended up with over 5 cut off and layers so sort on top I have to have my hair in a ponytail all the time and not all of it even stays in. I had beautiful long hair now I have half a mullet and uneven cut, if you have long hair or value your hair I would call somewhere else Im beyond upset and had to pay for it. The girl even told me they dont teach anything and all she used was thinning shears most of the time 😱 my hair is destroyed!

I went there on the 2 of august at 230 pm ..i went there for s hair cut an wanted to die my hair .,,never got a hair cut was told we stop cuting st 330 ..can you stop by on saturday we open at 10 went back at 1030 was told cant cut your hair today even though a lot of students standing around ..,come back on tuesday ..i dont have time to keep going back an forth .why it was not cut on fri

Terrible my 11 year old could have done better.I went for a balayage and it looks so bad. My color is orange like leporad spots and you can clearly see where she did and didn’t put bleach in my hair. It looks like someone took a paint brush and just started to fling it on my hair. She also was so sloppy I had dye everywhere including my clothes, face, etc. even dropped the dye brush on me. Thank God I didn’t get the haircut like I thought about. I know they are just learning but my God anyone could have done better. I’ll go back for other things but definitely not my hair.

Savanah was great at the pedicure. I got a foot mask included too which is so cool! The only reason I took off a star is because they didn’t have time to do my mani with my pedi that was scheduled in advanced. But overall, I love the staff and energy here. Front desk lady was funny too.

Ive gone to Sara Friedman multiple times. She has tons of experience with haircuts and color. She can even do manicures and massages! I would recommend her to anyone coming to the Hair Arts Academy!

I have went here regularly for years. The last time I went in I asked for a trim. The student cutting my hair did a great job, she gave me a trim. However, the teacher who checked her work then came over to give me a new hair cut. I walked out with random, uneven layers and I lost so much hair that it will take me over a year to grow my hair back out to the length it was. I will never go back neither will I recommend that anyone who is not White get a trim. Stick to the basics, deep conditioning treatments.

I attended the Hair Arts Academy 24 years ago and Im proud to say since then Ive done platform work, taught in salon classes and m a salon owner. I really appreciated how great this school was was I began teaching and hiring myself. THANK YOU :)

Dont be afraid to recieved services from students, because they are not only talented, but closely supervised by their instructors. My stylist is Austin Brown- who is currently studying here and he is sooooo curteous and conscience of his clients needs and does an incredible job with my blonde upkeep. Love him! And the value is unbeatable of course. My color process with ALL of the extras is always under $70!
