As the coaches says we do hard things. My son was not always as confident as I would have liked him to be. He was scared to try new things, especially ones he perceived to be difficult. Since he started training at frequency martial arts, I have watched him take on hard things both in class and outside of class. I couldnt be happier as a parent with the confidence Coach Ed and the rest of the coaches have instilled in my child. He walks into and out of class with a smile on his face, knowing he is succeeding. You have given my son the best gift I could have ever asked for! Thank you frequency martial arts!

My two young kids (five and six) have trained here for about a month and absolutely love it. The coaches are wonderful. They do a great job of demonstrating the moves for the kids each class, and carefully watch to ensure the kids are doing things correctly and safely. Coach Ed is very communicative, and is quick to respond when a question pops up. Aside from the actual Jiu Jitsu moves, the coaches and classes have really helped my kids improve their listening skills, and have helped them to understand teamwork, responsibility, and commitment a bit better. Classes here have been a very positive experience for my kids, and we’re looking forward to continued work here!

I was looking for a great place to have my boys train martial arts. I did a bunch of research and read reviews for all the local places. When I came across Frequency Martial arts I set up a free class. I could not have been more impressed the facility is excellent the coaches are great with the kids. They teach in such a positive professional way. They make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. Coach Ed does a great job of taking the fear and intimidation from trying something new away. The boys absolutely loved it and we signed up for the year after the first class.I don’t think you could get a better foundation than BJJ. Frequency is hands down the best place around. The reviews speak for themselves.

Instructors are very polite, personable, and well-versed. Skills are taught in a way that sticks, especially if you choose to stay and roll after lessons. Premises are professionally arranged, very clean, and has a good atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, so if you have plenty of free time to really practice and let the teachings stick, you cant go wrong with a membership here.

This is a great place to learn self defense and stay in shape. Ed and Doug are excellent teachers. They sincerely care about your progress. It is also a very safe, friendly, and comfortable place for people of color. I felt very welcomed and was able to get a partner. This is not a “Kobra Kai” cult gym. They are normal, kind, and humble people. No one was ever hesitant to work with me, which was a good sign. I would recommend this martial arts gym to anyone, especially minorities. You will feel safe, welcomed, and supported here.

Making the decision to train here was one of the best decisions I made this year. There’s a great and welcoming group of individuals that train during the 5:30am sessions on Tue/Th and this was really the only time I could fit into my schedule. Jiu Jitsu, and Frequency, helped kickstart a healthy lifestyle change for me that positively affected all areas of my life. I would recommend anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu, someone looking for a hobby, way to relieve stress, or looking to learn something new, to check out this gym!

I’ve been wanting to train BJJ for years but never had the guts to try it before finding Frequency Martial Arts. I was really impressed by the facilities, variety of class times offered, and felt instantly welcomed into the camaraderie of the team. Returning to physical activity after having two kids I was probably in the worst shape of my life but I already feel so much more physically fit and confident. Every coach brings something unique to the school and the atmosphere is always inclusive and supportive. I can’t wait for my kiddos to be old enough to join!

I dropped in for open mat on a Wednesday night and could not have had a more welcoming or positive experience. The gym was extremely clean, the instructor was extremely nice and professional, and I had some challenging rolls. For someone living in the area or passing through town I would definitely recommend this academy!

Frequency Martial Arts is a great place to learn BJJ.  The facility is clean and spacious, and there are more classes on the schedule than any other school in town.  The coaches are knowledgeable and helpful, but Coach Ed in particular has made FMA a safe and inclusive environment where learning and working hard can be fun.The best part is the team. We’re a diverse group of men and women from all age groups with a wide range of experience levels, body types/size, and rank. We’re all invested in each other’s improvement, and we are always happy to welcome new teammates onto the mats.

Our son Walker was having difficulty in school with discipline issues. We were at a loss, so we thought martial arts would be a potential solution as they always advertise discipline. After walkers first class he had his first positive behavior report in weeks. We were surprised by the immediate results. Walker has been going to classes about 4 days a week for about 3 weeks now. Only once has he had a poor behavior report the day after he went to a class. This is an extreme contrast with his previous daily bad reports. I cant say this would work for everyone, but it seems like we found something that works for our son. He has made great improvements and now were just trying to build on this new foundation.

Its intimidating as an adult to learn something completely new and put yourself out there to be a beginner at something again. Everyone at Frequency has been in that same spot before, so they understand the feeling, and Ive experienced nothing but kindness and respect since Ive been on the mats. Personally I was worried about being one of the only women in a mostly all-male environment, and that was a big hesitation I had before deciding to schedule my trial class. I am treated just like every other teammate, and I completely trust all of the coaches and the positive environment they foster. I cant recommend Frequency enough. If youve been thinking about trying BJJ, SCHEDULE YOUR TRIAL CLASS and give this place a try.

My son has been training at Frequency Martial Arts for almost 2 years now. He has grown so much since we started. No longer is he afraid to talk to kids, especially ones older in age. He has made some great friends in class. I love how each class is not solely focused on BJJ but also incorporates how to handle bully situations.. At FMA, kids respect each other and encourage one another to try their best and work their hardest. This comes from the great coaching of Ed and Mike. You wont be disappointed if you enroll your child or even yourself!

Ive been training her about 10 months. And I can say it is an upstanding facility. Its clean, the new location is just amazing, theres a shower now which is incredible and the staff are so nice. Ed Lemonier and Mike Donnovan teach the childrens classes and they have an obvious patience for the kids that I envy. Ed, Mike Lavazza, Doug Kimball, and Coach Ben are all exceptional teachers. They are kind, patient and always willing to to take time out and help you during and after class. One thing I respect is that they always make sure everyone is safe and that no one is going to get injured. They also make sure all the students are respectful and never let them get too aggressive on the mats. I started my BJJ journey as a way to express my obvious aggression. Now its become something more for me because of FMA. I have serious goals and ambitions I working towards and I wouldnt be able to reach them with out FMA and all their staff and students

Frequency Martial Arts is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy that I highly recommend to anyone interested in learning a martial art. Even though I live almost an hour away and there are other gyms closer to where I live that offer BJJ, I choose to go to FMA for the following reasons: (1) the people - everyone is friendly and supportive...there are no jerks or over-inflated egos; (2) the instructors - all are knowledgeable, remarkably patient, and genuinely interested in making sure that you are learning and making progress; (3) the class schedule - classes are offered Monday through Saturday, and theres usually open mat on Sunday, so theres always a class available for you to attend; and (4) the affiliation - FMA is an affiliate of Robson Moura, 8X world champion...having access to his knowledge and experience is invaluable.

Frequency Martial Arts is a great place to learn jiu jitsu. Its clean, affordable, and has great coaches. My daughter has trained here over a year now and has learned so much not only about jiu jitsu but respect and accountability for herself and others. The kids classes not only focus on jiu jitsu, but they talk to them about bullies, helping others, good manners, being respectful, personal responsibility, ect. All the coaches are great with the kids and are patient and willing to help them learn. When you train at Frequency Martial Arts, you are not just a member of a team, you are part of a family!!

I was lucky enough to be able to train at Henry BJJ for over a year. Bill is a super guy, and a superb instructor. It was quite a long drive for me....over an hour and a half round trip. It was totally worth it! The Henry BJJ team is a really great group of guys and they are experienced BJJ competitors. It was a pleasure to train there.

I had been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2007 and under the Robson Moura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association since 2009.Jiu Jitsu helped me improve my health that when the local instructor decided to close the school in late 2014, I purchased his mats to keep training with the 9 teammates that we had.The team of instructors at Frequency Martial Arts are excellent as they break down the movements and watch the students to ensure that they are doing it properly. In addition, Frequency Martial Arts and the RMNU Association do an amazing job of bringing in RMNU various Black Belts to the school from time to time to teach classes, including the head of the association: 6th Degree Black Belt and 8X BJJ World Champion, Robson Moura.
