Mrs. Morgan is Amazing with her skills and talent.Today I came in as a Demo and all of her students watched from beginning until the end. Mrs. Morgan explained steps and tips as she danced around the crown of my head. That’s what it seemed like she is just so flawless. Very professional and to the point. The service that was provided was as if so was in a five star salon not a school!I should have taken a photo once done. But I got distracted because she wanted to make sure she wrapped my hair . I am soooooo thankful that Boston’s Empire Beauty Salon is finally open again!!! I have not had a decent keratin treatment since it closed due to the pandemic!I have hair again today thanks to the wonderful and talented hands of student Shayla, and the always expert instruction from her amazing instructor Mrs Morgan!This place is the best kept secret around. My hair always looks and feels gorgeous after a visit to this salon. Because students are learning, it may take slightly longer, but you are insured under the eagle eyes and very competent hands of instructors, that students produce perfect results as they learn. I have really missed this place!! I highly recommend you give it a try!!

This whole school is great! With the help of mrs. morgan, lizmary did my hair color and shadow roots and it was absolutely wonderful! Leonela did my curls (blow out) and it was out of this world. Everything about this place, the teacher and students--- they are all good and professional! :))

Mrs Morgan is an awesome Salon Educator. She makes sure that everyone is comfortable and on top of their work. She communicates very well with her students and clients. Working under her wings you are most definitely likely to graduate at your best and with the knowledge of Cosmetology. I love her and she is like a second mom.

I had a wash/blowout/silk press/trim appointment with Aida C today. I have 4C hair and this was one of the best salon experiences Ive ever had. She was gentle with my natural hair and also gave me a lot of tips on how to care for my hair at home as Im trying to grow it out. The teachers and other students were very friendly and professional as well. Such a relaxing environment. I have never been more happy with a trim and would highly reccomend booking with Aida C. I know Ill be going back atleast monthly.

Expectations from a beauty school were not high, but I soon became impressed with the caliber and professionalism of the student (Leah) and her “mentor” (Mrs Morgan). I want to shout out Jessica, who just braided my hair earlier this week. I came in knowing I wanted to get braids but with 0 vision or reference pics (bad client) and Jessica was SO PATIENT and HELPFUL in talking through what kind of design I wanted for my desired look. She thoroughly washed my hair, checked in frequently, braided quickly but not too tight and offered a lovely balance of conversation while also letting me relax/chill. Love my new look & so grateful to her. Overall, excellent braider & stylist- highly recommend her. FIVE STARS!!!

I had a WONDERFUL perm experience with hairstylist Daniela Bernard! I’ve gone to multiple different beauty schools under different companies and have seen many hairdressers struggle with putting in rods and the overall process of a perm. But, Daniel was SO detail oriented, kind, and made sure every last strand of hair was perfectly in its place. There were hairs some even I thought were impossible but she did them! Good job Empire, I hope everyone at the school follows Daniel’s fantastic example!

I recently got my hair dyed here and it was awesome! My stylist was Tashayla and she did an amazing job and my hair turned out beautiful. All the staff were super sweet and helpful, even so early in the morning. Definitely a hidden gem and would highly recommend! :)

Empire is a great place to get started with a career in the beauty industry. The school prides itself on diversity and puts emphasis on professionalism. Students are held accountable to a high level of performance. The staff is knowledgeable, understanding and most importantly, it is very clear that they love what they do. The program works in developing skills in as many facets of cosmetology as possible. Students are given resources for employment while in school and the staff really make themselves available, even after graduating. It’s an investment I am really happy that I made, I only regret not doing it sooner.

Rasanjah Bradford and her instructors did a great job with my hair. I showed them a photo of the haircut that I had in mind and they took care of the rest. Before starting they did an assessment of my hair and made sure I wasnt allergic to any products. Then, Rasanjahy did my haircut and hair style with guidance of her instructors. They all were very kind, professional, and attentive to my needs at all times. I highly recommend the services at Empite Beauty School.

I just graduated from empire beauty school and I had the best experience. The educators are caring and never give up on you and they definitely make sure u learn the material you need to. For the education, you learn the basics they say, but I feel like I learn a lot more and have never felt more prepared to go out and start my career. I recommend this school to anyone looking to go into cosmotology. Also the prices are amazing for services so when they open to the public again I definitely recommend going!!

It was good and the prices arent bad $21 for trim wash and blowout oh and flat iron that was great. I just forget its a school but a lot of girls know how to do him just go early because they are students and they get tired bye the end of the day.

Mrs Morgan and her apprentice was so patient and professional. I feel listened to and their services were very efficient. My only wish is that the school will bring back GOLDWELL products. I am disappointed the color products got switched. GOLDWELL products are one of the main reasons why I support this school.

This was my first time to Empire and I will definitely be back! The stylist I worked with, Tashayla was amazing! I went for a haircut and eyebrow wax and was so impressed with how professional all the student stylists were (especially considering the majority of their education happened during COVID lockdowns). Tashayla’s scalp massage during the shampoo was one of the best I’ve ever had, I nearly fell asleep in the chair! The educator salon manager, Mrs. Morgan was just the right level of attentive and available to assist the stylists when needed. I felt well cared for and love my new look!

At first i thought it was gonna be hard but it just a matter of time that you learn that everywhere you go at first it’s scary but then it become your real home! I attended Empire Beauty Boston 2017-2018. I was a part time student doing the night program Monday to Thursday 530-10pm, I loved that I had this option for school as a full time mother of 2 this worked best for me. While there I was able to secure a job at a Salon in Brookline where I started as an assistant and have been a stylist there for almost 3 years now.My time at Empire is something I cherish to this day. They taught me the fundamentals I needed to pass my state board exam and practical, they allowed my creativity to bloom, and when I was stuck they pushed me to be more creative. My night time teacher was Mr. Legge, that man is the most wonderful teacher I have ever had. He knew his stuff front and back, was able to keep us intrigued and wanting more and pushed us to but give up if we couldn’t get something.Overall the school is a great place to get the education you need to pass your state boards, get liscense and start your career as a hairdresser!

As a student who has graduated from this school, I have to say first and foremost... This school has became my family. My educators, the staff, the director, the students..... all family. I never wanted to leave once it came closer to time for me to graduate. I loved my experience here, and learned so much from my Pre-salon Educator Ms. Laurenco and Salon Level Educator Ms. Neely. They’re both very intelligent with all courses and explained them all very well in their own ways. If you’re looking for diverse learning, this school is all for you! Hair, Makeup, Nails, Skincare!! I wouldn’t have the confidence in these subjects if it wasn’t for this school.

I got a great haircut for only $11! I dont mind going to schools at all (everyone has to learn sometime!), and Empire was great. Francesca was professional and took her time to make sure my cut was right. The instructors were courteous and encouraging of the student (I have been other places where instructors are nice to customers and horrible to students). Beauty schools do take a bit longer than standard salons because the students need to make sure they are doing everything right, so Im not sure what all the comments on here are about them being too slow. I would rather them take their time and do a great job, like they did!

I mean.... you get what you pay for. The students were really nice and I ended up getting a decent hair cut, especially considering the price. Main con is you can’t make an appointment in advance if you don’t know one of the students and if you are a walk-in you can expect to wait about an hour to be seen. Also, my haircut took forever (1.5 hours to get my hair washed and trimmed). If you’ve got the time to kill then it’s worth it.

My experience at Empire Beauty School was awesome. Delores Cox washed and roller set my hair, and the results were wonderful. She did an excellent job and she talked to me through everything she was doing or going to do. I would definitely go back there for such great services. The place was very clean, and everyone was so nice and well dressed and prepared to do whatever I wished to be done. I will give Empire Beauty School 10 stars.

I was a walk in appointment in a rush to have hair and make up done and met Dreanna who was warm, kind and polite, she had an lovely manner and strived to achieve the perfect look that I wanted . Meticulously and Conscientiously transforming my hair into luscious locks which attracted many compliments . My make up was done by Caitlin, very professional and dedicated attitude. Both lovely girls who made me feel so amazing and very pampered . Amazing staff who Empire should be really proud of! Well done girls !

Front desk staff was awesome. They were friendly and honest. It took a bit longer than at a normal salon (I got a longer bob with layers), but the stylist was very precise. The product she used on my hair was so amazing I bought it. Very reasonable price for shampoo, cut, dry and product. I will definitely go back.

Its only $9 for a cut and a blow dry here and its in the middle of downtown Boston! I received a great hair cut. It did take a lot of time for the hair cut and the blow dry so just make sure you plan for that when coming here. Really impressed with the service.

Students close to graduating are rude, no longer interested in customer service or taking clients that are not their friends. Management has no supervisory control. Students are walking around socializing while clients wait to be seen. Waited over an hour and a half before staff acknowledged and apologized for the lack of professionalism. The soon to be graduate assigned to do my hair stood outside talking the entire time. Intermittently looking at me through the window and he was in that same spot as I walked by him on my way out!! I will never come back!!!!

I didnt end up booking an appointment because of the customer service over the phone. I asked how long an appointment would take and the man said I dont know it depends and I asked for an estimates and he raised his voice and said the same thing. Then I asked if it would take maybe 30 minutes to an hour and he yelled Well of course it wouldnt take that long! Such a weird experience. I was excited to come in and try them out but I wont do that anymore. Ill go to paul mitchell.

I went in for TWO cornrows today and was charged $40!!!! I asked before I got my hair done but nobody knew how much it cost until it came time to pay. I go to supercuts and get this SAME STYLE with a wash for half the price!!! Ican understand if it was more than 2 braids but COME ON!

I had a trim here. the student was awesome. very smart and well educated. my haircut looked like a major improvement. my intention is to return in 3 or 4 weeks to hone in on style. i want to compare blow dry versus airdry. i want to change my hairstyle only slightly. i want to ask more questions about hair coloring and perms. i want to discuss style with my stylist. i like discussions about my stylists future plans following graduation from the program.

Ms Morgan was mean. All she did all morning was complain and act angry. She did not care about my like for the cut. It is all about her. She would not let the student do my hair. unprofessional all the way. She deserves a 0 in stars.

Its a very professional beauty salon. My stylist gave me a haircut that I adored, adding layers to give my curls volume. The outcome was lovely.

So dissapointed. I was one of the first people here and suddenly this white chick gets put before me! I waited from 9am to 1am and they decided to treat her first! Then they tell me they won’t have time to do my hair. PISSED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Never coming back here again. Racist and unfair. Too bad there’s no option for negative stars.

I hadnt such a great experience here! I hadnt had my hair cut in two years before coming, and my stylist Yleida put new life into my hair! She did exactly what I asked, gave me a trim (didnt cut off extra like so many other places end up doing) and gave me a gorgeous blow dry. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming, and they write down the products they used on you so if you liked it you can go out and buy it yourself! I am going back next week for a deep conditioning treatment. 5/5 for Empire Beauty School and Yleida Silva!

Last time - never again. Every time I come here, I think its going to improve, instead it gets worse. The instructors are hardly ever with the students, which is very disappointing - these students need guidance, motivation and mentoring and yet these teachers are happy to sit behind a front desk and greet customers. I was here yesterday - the girl took 2 hours to wash and blow dry my hair - two hours, are you serious? The lady behind me came in after me - had a cut and blow dry and she finished before me and the blow dry was better! The other lady next to me asked for a haircut - showed the student the photo - got the teacher to come over and guide her - the teacher said just cut here and here and youll be fine. Didnt stand there and watch what she was doing - you could see the customer was getting annoyed - this student had to try and do a hair cut she had no idea about. Empire - you need to step up your game - your instructors are there to instruct - not accept clients. Very disappointing!

This is the absolute worst beauty school ive ever come across. The staff is very unprofessional & rude. They do not help the students to their full potential. Teachers dont spend enough time on a module. Everything they teach you comes straight from youtube, which is EXACTLY what i was doing before i applied. NO DIVERSITY when it comes to hair types. This school has no organization or plans for students who are having a rough time. So quick to kick you out but still take your money. Which i am very disappointed about because when you sign up they seem like they are really for you and helping you as much as possible. I attempted to go to this school 2 TIMES! and both times i regret . Now i have this huge student loan to pay back with no knowledge of anything beauty related, or no direction in which i can go to further my career. I will try another beauty school hopefully i have better luck and get my moneys worth. Thank you empire... you suck

I got great highlights and coloring back in 2014. Professional level service for lower prices than cheapo chain salons.

If we talk about money yes its cheap . But the service is not good , I understand trainees are learning and practicing so we cant expect too much . My sons hair cut was only $ 5 . Its really good .

It’s hard to get a walk-in because they close up early a lot. The first time I went, it took three hours to get a 2 inch trim, then next time I went I left in tears because the cut was so bad.

I’ve been in this place several times and I always bring my toddler with me I always keep him in his stroller. Today I was told he’s not allowed in here!!! So I’m a type a person that respect rules and regulations but I’m upset the fact that I always bring him with me and today because this RUDE lady I can’t have my son with me... this regulations should always be implemented not when they feel like it!!!!!

Quick and cheap.

I called before coming in, and they told me it was walk in only, and to come in. So when I came in, their salon was closed for the day! Why would you tell someone to come in if you are closed?!I wasted 2 hours to come downtown and go back home for nothing.

Marie gave me my first perm here under the guidance of her wonderful teachers. I absolutely love how it looks, and just the experience given by the friendly staff alone is worth the experience!
