My wife and I have been so blessed to have the Village as the place that cared for, taught and and provided an exceptional foundation for our two boys. My wife - a School Psychologist, and me - a Principal (and a former Kindergarten teacher) of an Elementary School in the Hillsborough County Public Schools have high standards and expectations when we sought a place for our babies starting in 2014, and again in 2017. After a thorough search - there was only one place we could entrust our children: It was the Village Early Learning Center. Miss Susan and her staff loved our boys. The curriculum was fun, engaging, hands-on and helped develop our sons into avid learners. They have both made life-long friends and connections and always feel like they are part of this Village Family. If you care about your child being with the best, if you want you children love going to school, if you want your child to be in a safe, clean, respectful and loving environment - the Village Early Learning Center is the ONLY place to send you child. We are forever grateful for Miss Susan and her Village Family. :) Scott Valdez

I am very disappointed a “school” would tell children to openly ostracize other children from playing with them because they aren’t apart of that school when they bring their students to a public playground. The Village brought their group to Rotary’s playground where their children are told to not play with any other child that isn’t in their blue shirts. I watched as twenty kids told my daughter they wouldn’t play with her (when they were the only kids there around her age) and as her heart sank further with each rejection. Other children will have no idea why or really be able to understand the reasoning (I as an adult even don’t understand as it’s ridiculously moronic) why the children aren’t allowed to play with others. Not only does this teach a hive mentality and teach them to form cliques that will ostracize others but it makes the children act rudely (one girl was very snotty about it) to others. It is hurtful to other children. Instead of enjoying the fresh air and playing at the park with kids, my daughter left in tears feeling rejected and left out. All she wanted was to play with someone her age. When asked, their supervisor/teacher rambled off a derisive excuse about if their students hurt anyone they were responsible. Yeah, just as if your student hurt each other you would take corrective action. It’s not a massive legal issue. It’s a PUBLIC playground. People bring their children there knowing their kids will play with others and sometimes get hurt. They are responsible for their kids. You are responsible for your own. So why bring children to a public playground and not permit them to play with the other children there so that the few kids who are there (not apart of the center) end up with hurt feelings and the realization that people are cruel hearted. Build your own private playground and keep the kids there so you aren’t subjecting children to your mean girl style rules in teaching those students to purposefully leave out other kids which will only enforce that mentality later.Parents, if you want your children to grow into kind, compassionate people who include everyone don’t send them to this learning center. One of the things they will learn is to hold superiority attitudes with the schools silly and divisive philosophies. To emphasis how the center’s policies cause your children to be viewed as by other children, the first thing my daughter said in the car as we left Rotary’s was, “Those kids are all mean bullies who left me out. My heart hurts I never want to come here again.” Granted she calmed down and I explained the school was at fault not the children but you can see how the center’s policies made your children behave in appalling ways as they reject other kids from playing with them.

The Village is absolutely amazing! The staff are kind, wonderful and detail oriented. We have looked for the last 3 years for a suitable after school program for our kid before being referred here. My kids actually ask me to stay until it closes because they love it so much. There is healthy snacks, a garden, and a variety of outdoor activities. Both kids come home tired and happy every day. The staff is so personable and has handled any questions or issues we have had with kindness and accountability. Dont send your child anywhere else!!!

My daughter has had a wonderful experience here. She enjoys going to school every day. She adores her teachers. I am very picky when it comes to curriculum, and quality of learning. The Village delivers excellent quality. My daughter knows so much for her age. You can tell they really love what they do and they care for all the children who come here. I’m always amazed at how everyone knows my daughters name. Highly recommend.

Could not be happier with the Village! My kids actually enjoy going to school and I feel they are ahead of the game compared to other kids their age. In addition to being great educators, they also teach about different cultures and places making for more well-rounded children. We can also see they are taking all necessary precautions to protect our children during these uncertain (Covid) times.

The village staff are so great with our kids. Our kids always had a hard time adjusting to a new caregiver but when we started at the Village they were so patient with them. The kids have so much fun and really love their teachers & coaches. I appreciate the communication and understanding, but most of all I love that my kids enjoy their time there.

Both of my babies spent several years at The Village ELC and it truly became their home away from home. It was clear to us from very early on that this place is much more than a business to the owners. Susan always made us feel like our childrens happiness and safety was a priority. I was simply amazed by all that my children did and learned each day and even as a teacher myself, Im not sure that I could recreate the quality of the experiences and events that my children participated in. Teachers truly did their best to capture milestones and fun moments to share with me on the school communication platform and my children adored them. The building itself reflects the creativity and love that is poured into the children and their development. I couldnt have picked a better partner in helping my children grow and learn. It wasnt a short drive back and forth each day for us but it was absolutely worth it. The Village ELC will forever be a part of our hearts!

5 stars isn’t enough! We absolutely LOVE The Village. I managed/worked in a preschool setting for 6+ years, have 3 kids and I have high expectations for the care of my children. Ms. Angie and Ms Tami make you feel so at home as admin. And our VPK teachers Garcia and Larson are incredible. The involvement between the school-family-community is amazing. There are always activities and events happening that keep you involved with your child and the school. The staff is amazing and my daughter is thriving! Thanks for all you do!

The Village Early Learning Center is one of the best in the area! When I moved down here from New York and had little to no information on where I could take my son, I luckily came across this establishment. My son has been going to The Village since he was one. The care and attention by the teachers as well the owners Susan and Joe is like having an extended family member watching over your kids. The summer camp is also great and provides both educational and filled with fun activities and outings. I highly recommend The Village!

We moved to PA., but for the short period of time in which our children (6 & 4 yrs old then) were at the Village we all love it. The staff is wonderful and truly cares for the children and treat them so nicely. We literally do not have anything to complaint about The Village. Our kids still talk about the wonderful staff (by name) 5 months after we moved to PA. We miss you all dearly, and wish you nothing but the best!!!!Sincerely,Carlos, Nilka, Santiago, and Victoria

Being a military family, my girls have been to their fair share of daycares. My oldest alone has been to 6 different daycares total. Most of those schools were fancy high tech, cameras everywhere, you name it. But NONE compare to The Village Learning Center. The love, support, leadership and encouragement my girls receive here is unlike any other daycare around. My 3 y/o has learned so much, her vocabulary has improved tremendously and she actually looks forward to going back day after day. My family is blessed to be part of The Village Family.

We have been very happy with our experience at The Village. We have a now 7 year old who started with The Village when he was 4, a few months before VPK. This was our first experience with daycare and have not been disappointed. We love the extra activities that they are able to offer. We have been more than pleased with the adventure club program for school aged children. They are out doing field trips on most days and being active in the community or doing very hands on activities when at the center. We love all of the staff. We have always felt that the staff is very approachable and willing to work with families as needed.

My daughter has attended for almost a year. She started in the ones with Ms. kristal and Ms. Johanna and now she is in the twos with Ms. Claudia. Her teachers have been amazing and have helped my daughter grow. She loves it. I have gotten two teacher conferences this year with both groups. They went over all of her mile stones and recommended things to improve. They made goals for school to help her. They also have an app to see my daughters daily activities and I get pictures every day. The school has cameras and entrance code. The school is clean and food is healthy (varies every day). The school is small and space is limited, but its worth it. My daughter has transitioned with some of the same kids from her previous class, which is great for her. I like the staff and security measures are great. I would recommend this school to my family and friends.

I love the Village Early Learning Center! Every day when I pick up my kids (ages 4 years and 10 months) they are so happy. My son is always telling me wonderful things that he learns in his VPK class and how much he loves his teachers. And, whenever I peek in on my daughter in the infant classroom, she is happy and playing in her fun, safe, and super clean classroom. Also, I really love all of the staff because they do a wonderful job with organizing activities and welcoming new families to the center. Thank you, Village Early Learning Center!

The Village is an amazing school! My daughter, who was very introverted, started there when she was 2.5, and the staff worked with us to make sure she got the care and attention she needed. We started our son there as an infant and now he is in VPK! We could not be happier with the level of care, attention to the individual needs of the children, and thoughtfulness of the curriculum. Their focus on introducing children to exploring nature and agriculture, as well as emphasizing that we are part of a global community, is of particular value. I would highly recommend this school to new parents or those looking for a change.

My son is in the late 2’s class, and I cannot express enough how much we love our teachers. My son previously had issues at other daycares with crying/aggressive behavior, and the teachers in his class have made all the difference. Every day, without fail, these teachers greet us smiling and welcoming. Every day I pick up my son he is happy. They are structured, children are engaged, they provide a ton of feedback on how your child’s day went, and they have been very flexible with our schedule changes. I truly cannot ask for more out of a daycare.

We have had an amazing experience with the Village Early Learning Center. Our child has learned so much and the teachers and the entire staff are extremely nurturing. Our child loves to go to school and The Village has really provided more than the typical VPK experience. They really go above and beyond in every area. One thing that has really impressed me is the amount of field trips they take and the trips are always tied into the current subject they are studying; I think that is so important for a hands on learning experience and its something I didnt expect at such a young age. We are very happy we chose the Village and we appreciate the amazing first learning experience our child has received.

Village ELC is absolutely the best preschool in Brandon! I interviewed 10+ schools before deciding to enroll my first child there but the Village stood out immediately. The teachers and administrative staff are amazing and know each child by name and care for them with the upmost love. The school has many special activities to further help foster a community environment! I am so blessed to have had both my babies go all the way through the school!

They were very informative from the beginning, telling me where I could get a voucher and everything. My son loves attending there, he is learning a lot, the teachers are very nice, its a great community environment... I just cant say enough great things about this school.

We searched long and hard and spoke to many people before making our final decision to put out son at The Village. I could not be happier with our decision. He is currently in the Preschool room and they are fantastic. They keep me informed of what he is doing every day which is great for communicating with our son. We also wanted to check to see how he was transitioning to his new school and they sat down with us and went over their concerns, created an action plan and a follow up meeting.Since joining the school I have seen a huge improvement academically which was the main reason we chose to move from our previous school. Not to mention the amount of activities the school offers. My sons room and playground are always kept clean and tidy and I see them being cleaned every day when I pick him up.We are very happy with our choice and the improvements our son has made.

I highly recommend the Village. My daughter went there from about 6 months old until almost 8 years old. (We moved away last month and that is the only reason she is not still there). We have always had the most kind, patient and caring teachers. She has learned so much not only during her preschool years, but also during the summer camps. My daughter loved going there and hated it if I picked her up early. The owner, Susan, is accessible and easy to talk to. I am in the process of finding my daughter an afterschool program here and I hope I can find a place that cares for her the way the staff at the Village did. Highly recommend.

My son attended vpk here and he had an awesome learning experience. Prior to vpk, he had never been left with anyone and he instantly adapted; never once did I hear I dont want to go. In fact, quite the opposite. He was upset that he couldnt attend school on the weekends. The staff is wonderful as are the teachers. I highly recommend.

We have been taking our children to The Village ELC since 2011, starting in the Infants room. As a speech-language pathologist, my job took me to various preschools in the area over many years, and, while many were great, The Village ELC was exceptional. It was clear that they went above and beyond for the children by always providing me with a place to work with them and making sure that they greeted me by name in each classroom (something that did not always happen everywhere else.) I typically worked in the staff lounge area and never saw any of the staff come in with negative words or attitudes while I was there. The children were met with positive words and actions and the staff was very supportive of my position there and made that clear to the children. When I knew that I would need childcare for my baby in 2011, I knew that it had to be at The Village and I have not been disappointed since. The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, and nudge the children toward achieving independence in a caring way (such as using sippy cups, understanding how to cut with scissors, toileting, dressing, etc.) When there are issues (which have been few), the administration, teachers, and parents work together to figure out what can be done to solve the problem.Additionally, The Village ELC puts a lot of thought into their nutritional program, outside areas, and community life. Lunches and snacks are healthy and my kids will eat things there that they wont even try at home. They have several outside, age appropriate play areas, where the kids get to spend plenty of time, including a garden play and learning area for the older students. Inside, there is a Piazza which is set up like a miniature town, where students go to develop various skills. The Village ELC also allows and/or provides outside access to extracurriculur activities such as dance, soccer, swimming, and gymnastics throughout the year and/or summer at an additional cost. Also throughout the year, there are some special after-hours events, some in conjunction with the parent group, The Village Family Foundation, that are wonderful and free or low-cost. These include a big Fall/Halloween event, family picnics, Winter Festival/Show day, Bedtime with Books, International Festival, and a garden party.Academically, The Village ELC more than prepared my son for Kindergarten. My daughter loves to go there for preschool and tries to hide from my husband when it is time to go home. Both kids have learned all the basic skills that are expected by Kindergarten these days, along with the necessary social skills to succeed in a classroom. The experiences that are offered here are beyond what most schools in the area are doing, as far as I am aware.Overall, I have sent two kids to The Village ELC since 2011 and have had experiences there since 2009 and am very pleased. While The Village ELC is a business, administration, teachers, and other parents make it feel more like a village experience, where there truly is support for you and your child!
