Terrible communication and will gladly steal your money - run away as fast as you can!We first started the enrollment process here in August and were told to pay a $2000 deposit to hold our spot in lieu of a wait list. We were told there would be an opening starting October and that we would receive the paperwork to move forward. After waiting a few weeks my wife had to reach out to Deborah because we had yet to receive anything via email. Deborah was surprised because Justin said he had already sent the paperwork, but wouldnt you know it - an email finally came through after being prompted with our call.Hoping this was just a slight bit of miscommunication we pressed on. The next step was to set up a final meet and greet with Deborah prior to our childs starting date. We schedule an appointment (as we had been previously told that STEM was not allowing prospective parents to do walk in appointments). When we showed up for our appointment we were quickly brushed aside by Deborah for a new couple who had simply walked in and wanted to meet. So we got a nice 10 minute chat with one of the infant room teachers and left feeling again ignored and forgotten. As STEM had outline that their payment policy was that you paid upfront for the entire month, and our child would be starting in October, we were waiting again to see any final paperwork to ensure our child would be attending October 1st.When my wife called to ask about the start date she was assured that our start date was instead October 31st (a Sunday in case youre wondering). They then back tracked to say that the infant room did not have an opening until the 18th but our child could at least start at that point. It was at this stage that we were forced to go with a private care giver for our child as we needed care to start at the beginning of October. I went to meet in person with Deborah regarding the $2000. She was actually quite respectful this time and after a quick discussion agreed that they would refund our $2000 and Justin would be mailing the check promptly.2 weeks later we have still not received the check, so I called Justin and was met with the new information that, no, they would not be refunding anything and will be keeping our money. So, if you would like your child to learn communication skills from someone incapable of picking up the phone or responding to emails in a timely fashion, learn counting from someone who gladly takes money without rendering any services they had promised, or ethics from someone who blatantly lies to customers then STEM is the school for you!

What an amazing experience! My daughter went here for the past year and a half, from day one Debra to the teachers and staff have been extremely professional, communicated how my daughters progress academically and emotionally. I want to personally thank everyone at stem for making this such a great experience for my family and my daughter. She always came home to tell me about everything she learned, and was so excited to return the next day! because of stem and the staff my daughter is more prepared for starting school then I could have ever imagined!

My son has been in their care for almost a year now; with all the ups and downs, I believe they try their best to support every child and their needs by providing excellent care. Unfortunately, we do not live in the perfect world, and things sometimes slip up. I am a mother of one and sometimes can get hanged up on little things, but in reality, my son absolutely loves attending this school and always has a blast, so they are doing 99.9% of things right. I am very grateful to all the caregivers who are helping me raise my son.

I highly recommend STEM Child Care. I interviewed with most providers in the area when looking for child care for my infant son and by far STEM surpassed the others. I get text updates on how much he’s eating, sleeping, tummy time, diaper changes, etc., all accompanied by pictures of him. They’ve been responsive when I’ve asked them to make reasonable accommodations for my son. The employees are friendly and genuinely care about my son’s well being, which is comforting when your leaving your child in the care of someone else.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE LIES OF STEM CHILD CARE OWNER. THE LICENSING DEPARTMENT FOUND OVER 15 VIOLATIONS!!! You provide bottles for Stem child care, they are suppose to clean them and make bottles for your child. Stem did not clean my child’s bottles, to the point they GREW MOLD! Stem kept feeding my child with these bottles, she became sick. When confronted, stem admitted they were at fault, then said All they can do is say sorry and we all need to just move forward. THIS IS THEIR AMBIVALENT ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEIR WRONG DOING! Then they BROUGHT UP THEIR CONTRACT. AFTER NEGLECTING MY CHILD BOTTLES, inflicting harm— all they cared about was their contract and moving forward. BEWARE!

I have work several places over my 30 plus years in Child Care and STEM is by far one of the best places to work. The management staff and owner truly care about the staff and families they care for. The whole staff works together as a team. In an industry where several women can cause cattiness there is none to be found here. The education and care provided to the children is top notch. If I had small children of my own they would attend STEM for the high quality care and education.STEM also provides fully cooked meals prepared by 2 full time chefs, not just microwaved quick foods. If you or someone you know is looking for the best child care call or stop by and check us out!

I had previously hired a nanny to watch over my daughter but a conflict with schedules had me looking elsewhere for childcare. I enrolled my daughter at STEM after meeting with the staff and touring the facility. It did not take long for her to open up and become acclimated with her new surroundings and teachers. Every teacher is loving, caring and always greets you with a smiling face! Savannah is fantastic with my daughter and knowing she is there gives me added comfort. She treats the kids as if they are her own; she is very loving and attentive. I will receive updates throughout the day on the activities they are working on, books they are reading and photos of playtime with friends through the Brightwheel app. Their hours are convenient and I love that STEM provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. I know my daughter is in good hands when I drop her off each morning.

I have been utterly impressed with STEM from the very beginning. I don’t have a child yet, but from doing my research and taking the time to tour the facility, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The kids are having fun and most importantly learning important skills necessary for their development. The fact that they provide healthy lunches and also constant updates via a neat app on your child during the day gives me peace of mind. The staff, who I was able to personally meet, Colin, Justin and Debra, are very attentive and responsive and has more than answered all of my questions. I have no doubt in the future that I will be sending my child to STEM. It is my top choice. I love them!!!!!!

I started working as a teacher’s assistant for the 2 1/2 year old class in April of 2020. I came from another school that had terrible management and terrible teachers. I was scared that all childcare facilities would be that same way, but STEM proved me wrong! I’ve never met such wonderful people! The managers and owner truly have our best interests at heart. They consistently ask what they can do to make STEM better for the teacher and the students, which has made this school such a wonderful place to work. I don’t have to feel afraid of what the managers are going to do with this school because I already know that whatever they do, they do it to make STEM better. And aside from doing a fantastic job managing STEM, my bosses are the kindest people I’ve ever met. Each one of them checks in with the teachers to make sure they are having a good day. If a teacher isn’t having a very good day, the managers ask what they can do to improve it. That in itself helps make a teacher’s day better. The teacher and assistant teachers also do their best to ensure the managers are having a wonderful time managing this school. We teachers also make sure each and every child is having a fantastic day, and that all of our students are learning something new. I can honestly say with perfect confidence that every teacher at STEM provides the best care they can to every child, and that every teachers gives their all when it comes to teaching. Teaching can be very taxing, but we teachers find it more rewarding than taxing. I love my job, and I can tell my co workers love theirs too! This is such a wonderful place to spend all day every day! I would recommend this school as a place to send your adorable children, and as an amazing place to work! I love STEM!

Love STEM! We recently moved to Castle Rock and were so nervous about moving my son from the daycare he loved in Colorado Springs. Of course the transition was challenging, but he overcame it so much faster because his teachers were so great with him. He even asks to see his teachers on the weekend. I also have a 10 month old in the infant room and feel like they are so patient with her. Beyond the great teachers, the other thing I am VERY grateful for is the dedication teachers have to using the app. I feel so connected to everything my son does at school. I get to see the songs hes singing, the books theyre reading, the projects they do in class, and the time they spend outside. This helps me to reinforce the learning of each day at home as well. They also add info on every bathroom break, what the kids are having for lunch, and when their naps start and stop. The app also makes communicating with the teachers easier. I am able to message my childrens teachers and I always receive a prompt response. I am also very excited about all the new extracurricular activities theyre bringing in. Lastly, I love how the director solicits feedback from parents. I feel like the feedback Ive given has been addressed fairly quickly.

After I dropped my daughter off on her first day, I received 3 update photos from the staff - in all 3 photos, she had obviously been crying and she is normally a very happy baby. She was crying when I left her, obviously crying throughout the time she was there, and crying when I came to pick her up. I placed her in a different daycare about one month after STEM and, in the photos I received, she was laughing, happy, and clearly well taken care of. A stark contrast to her experience at STEM.When I dropped my daughter off on her first day, I was surprised at how many kids were in the room with only 2 caregivers. After a couple hours, I went to check on things and asked if I could sit with her in the classroom for awhile. I sat in the classroom for 30-40 minutes before leaving with my daughter and in that time: there were at least 4 kids crying the entire time and not receiving attention (one baby boy was standing in his crib crying for over 15 minutes and nobody saw to him), one caregiver was bottle feeding a newborn and had to hold her the whole time (at which point she commented that the milk seemed yellow “which was weird” and, when I mentioned that it was probably breast milk, she said, “Oh yeah, that’s probably it, I should check the label”) and the other caregiver was changing diapers - this left numerous kids unattended, the facility was freezing cold (even the staff were wearing coats). The next day I informed the owner that I wanted to cancel the contract since I did not feel this situation was healthy or right for my 8 month old baby. Despite sending several (polite!) email requests, they would not refund a penny (they said they could offer some money back if one of the waitlisted families would take my spot but apparently that never happened). So, I basically paid $1500 for 3 hours of my baby crying. It is unfortunate that I can only give an unfavorable review of this facility.

STEM has been a drastic change from other schools I have seen. While things have been uncertain and taxing on everyone in this chaotic time with COVID, the management and teaching team at STEM has been working hard to adapt and respond appropriately. The Brightwheel app is used to communicate with families, which is why you will occasionally see a staff member using a device. It’s so nice to be able to share important information about a child’s day, exciting activities, or newly acquired or mastered skills. While staff turnover is unfortunately a reality, especially during this COVID crisis, the team STEM has built is committed to providing the best education and environment for the children.

I had multiple kids at STEM and we were with them since they opened. They were great but really went downhill fast after one Co-Owner fired the other and had him arrested on site in DEC 2019. The termination and incident was communicated to parents through the app. Policy updates were made and never communicated or distributed to parents. We only ever received information after we asked and our questions (always polite) were often met with smug remarks and hostility from the Owner. They offered discounts for 5-star google reviews (which is why you see so many), and had an extremely high turnover rate with their teachers. COVID policies appeared as only lip service and I often saw violations regarding teacher/child ratios. Our child was injured, and while the hospital ended up providing treatment, STEM leadership seemed unconcerned before we arrived. We then began looking at other daycares, and made a strategic exit. In the end, they tried to charge us extra $$ after we provided them our notice but, the owner knew we were fed up and he didnt press the issue. I have seen other reviews of the current Directors nonchalant attitude toward safety and lack of general concern for the children, and I can confirm this to be an accurate observation. STEM ultimately lost our trust, respect, then business.

When I got reunited with her I was blown away with how much she had changed. I give all the credit to her teachers. Shes talking, counting, practicing using the potty, and making special friends. They have served as an extension of our family and have been incredibly flexible with us from the start. After seeing first hand the precautions that STEM has taken with COVID (e.g., pre-arranged but flexible drop-off times, teachers meeting you outside the facility front door for kid drop-off and pick-up to limit people entering the building, etc.), we are very thankful to have STEM as a key part of our daily childcare routine.

I was very happy with this place in the beginning (2019). Teachers were great to my child (most of the time). Weird things did happen like one of the reviewers here said. But that wasnt my main complaint. Ever since the COVID-19 happened, the daycare did very little adjustment to help keeping the place safe. The owner has impressive background in public health, but for some reason, he acted naively confident in keeping his daycare out of trouble without any social distancing or mask wearing. Only a couple messages sent about COVID during the lockdown time, saying that they were still opening, and no explanations of how they would change to help preventing the virus transmission. Parents still come in through the only door and touching the same ipad for checkin. When I tried to raise the concern politely, the owner somehow felt extremely insulted. With a reckless owner like this, I wont be surprised if this place will face more serious problems in the future.

Our child was at STEM for 10 months in the infant - toddler room. When we removed her from the school, she was beginning to transition to the 2s room. While we were initially happy with the school, things slowly declined, and we were left in a situation where we would not recommend anyone attend the school, primarily once we started in the toddlersTo start, the staff never made much efforts to keep our child clean. I would pick my child up, and often no effort had been made to wipe off any snot from her face throughout the day, or shed still have leftovers on her face from lunch. We cloth diaper, and frequently I would pick her up and she would be in disposables. Every single time she wore disposables at school, she would develop a diaper rash, which only happens to her if shes left in a wet one for too long. If she ever pooped there, she was never cleaned properly and we would find her bottom still with poop in crevices when we got home. When we brought her things home after her last day, though we had repeatedly been told that her cup would be cleaned at school, we discovered mold growing in the cup that she drank from daily.Communication within the school was also a noted difficulty. At one point in the middle of the school year, a new handbook was made, not widely distributed, and additional holidays had been added. This should have had a signed parent acknowledgement to the changes; instead, we were left scrambling when a msg went out on a Friday afternoon that school was closed the following Monday. Every day, when I picked up my child from school in the afternoon, all of the staff had switched over to the afternoon staff. This meant, that any questions I asked about my childs day, was met with blank stares and shrugs of I dont know. The day staff and afternoon staff never communicated during the switch over, and provided absolutely no insight into the childrens day or behavior. We began potty training at home as well, and spoke to her teachers several times about working with her at school. Yet anytime I would ask in the afternoon how she did with going to the potty, the staff in the afternoon had no idea they should have even been trying. Several times in which communicable diseases were being spread throughout the school, as confirmed by our pediatrician even knowing about cases of it (strep, flu, HFM), none of the parents were informed, or only after it had already been spreading for a week+The afternoon staff was also never consistent. My child had the same main teacher during the day most days, every week it seemed there was new afternoon staff. The staff didnt really watch the kids well either. I frequently picked my kid up and another kid would be playing in the sink, standing on top of toys trying to get over the gate to the other room, etc.Parent teacher conferences were mentioned months ago but those never happened. Again, leading us to have no idea what was happening during the day, the curriculum our child was learning, or what her behavior was like. We were assured that she would be moving up to the next classroom in Jan, and starting the transition in Dec. Early Jan they were only just then beginning to transition her, and never fully moved her to the older classroom. Also, several incidences and questions regarding safety of the kids. A few times in which whole grapes or whole carrots were served to kids 18mo-2 yrs old. Each time I brought this up as a concern, with it being a major choking hazard, I would be blown off or just told it would be handled, and nothing seemed to change. The teachers in the room seemed oblivious to this being a problem, and did not seem to have the childrens safety in mind. STEM also does not use indv door codes for parents like many of the nearby schools. Theres 1 shared code for the exterior door and 1 for interior. The outside code was only changed a 1 time while we were there, and the internal codes have never been changed.

We love STEM child care for our 5 year old. They go above and beyond every time! The director always exceeds our expectations.

Our son has been going to the toddler group at STEM Child Care since the beginning of March, 2019. We visited several other daycares before making our choice and we have not regretted it since. Our son is looking forward to go play with his friends every day. Their child status updates come in throughout the day unlike schools that use the tadpoles system, where you only get the end of day snapshot. The teachers are nice and very helpful. One of the big pluses of STEM, is that Parents are welcome to participate in the forming of child menus. You can also add to their wishlist the toys you want your kids to have in the rooms. Overall, we feel like our needs are always heard and addressed, which I think is very important. We also like that kids spend a lot of time outside and have water fun on Fridays. We recommend STEM Child Care to other parents looking for child care.

Im not one of those woman that have a let me speak to your manager hair cut but after sitting in a drive threw line for over 5 mins across from this child care, i watched as several workers watching the young kids play outside all stood there looking down at their cell phones. I watched as children hit one another one was crying and the workers attention never left their cell phone. I called the main office and whoever answered the phone 1. Forgot what child care facility she was working at. Didnt even get the name right and 2. Responded with we use an app to track the kids and take pictures. I tell her that i watched for several minutes and she responded its an app. Her nonchalant attitude towards the care and safety of those kids was alarming. She was more than happy to hang up the phone with no concern at all for any of those children. Beware if you are interested in this place.

I love that I get updates throughout the day on how my boys are doing, pictures through the day of them learning is amazing as well. The curriculum that they are using is great so far they will figure out what’s going g to work best for each child so they can have a safe and fun learning experience

Wish i could give zero stars. Was also told they would give us a discount for a good google review.Update: my specific case was my son being bit over a dozen times (documented proof from their app) they didnt address the issue. I told the director about my son having EXTREMELY bad diaper rash from not being wiped properly. Next day at school was the same problem. Hours after i confronted him again i got a text message saying my son was not welcome there. After further questioning i was told it was because i was aggressive. All messages are time stamped. BEWARE parents. The staff is unprofessional and not honest. The director offers a discount for good reviews. I thought it was good at first too. We go to high pointe now and LOVE IT i especially love highpointe for their communication and HONESTY. they also have CAMERAS unlike stem. If they had cameras at stem they would know what that staff member did and would have fired her. Im sure she still works there

I bring my 4 year old daughter here, the whole staff has been really awesome. We started here when my daughter was 3, her teacher Ms. Katie is amazing, her teacher in the 4 yr old class Ma. Ana has been wonderful as well, my daughter loves to talk about them and what she has learned everyday she attends. I used to take her to Kindercare and am really happy and thankful we made the switch, we’ve seen a huge difference in how much she has been learneint since starting at STEM!Highly recommend you bring your kids here 👍🏻

STEM had a great team and approach when they first opened. The honeymoon ended in Dec 2019, and we realized STEMs mission became, Give me your money, and shut up! Im not a fan of children but Im smarter than you, and I will make sure you know it. If you want Goddard (which is under investigation) then you can get a taste of it here - the former Director now runs STEM with an iron fist of misinformation and manipulation. If youre not happy with it, please refer to the Owners new mission statement. Any other concerns that pre-date the 2020 changes, it is someone who doesnt work here anymores fault; not up for debate. Owner Collin Stewart has an impressive resume of working for 6 different companies in 7 years. Then he decided to spread his wings, crowd fund and start-up a new social media company called, Atmospheir, Inc. He currently sits as the companys COO which is probably why you will only ever hear from him via email if you enroll your kids at his new daycare. I wouldnt be surprised that if someone were to dig into this guys finances, they would find a how to manual on Ponzi schemes and money laundering. If you are just looking for a place to dump your kids for the day, STEM has your back - just bring $30k/year with you.Our experience with this Daycare started out great, until the structure began to unravel in December 2019. Like most parents, we toured multiple daycares before choosing STEM to send our children. It was the mission and genuine dedication to creating a daycare that Brandon (Co-Owner and Director of Operations) wanted to send his young children to. We were shocked to receive a message via the School’s app from Collin (Co-Owner, CFO) that Brandon no longer worked at the daycare as he had ‘unlawfully withdrawn a substantial amount of funds from the school’s bank account’, and as such was ‘terminated’ from STEM. Colin also noted the ’authorities’ were on the premises to prevent disturbance to the school day.We never heard another thing about the topic, nor did we ask - then a new Director was hired (Debra) beginning of 2020. Since that time, we encountered numerous issues: 1. Outstanding teachers withdrawing from the center and policy changes; none of which we, as parents, were ever informed of. 2. Variances in policy enforcement depending on teaching staff and what rules the center wanted to enforce that day (e.g. we were told numerous times the temperature threshold for a child to be picked up was 101 deg. However; We were called right after our child finished playing outside and had a temperature of 100.6 deg). These discrepancies make it extremely difficult for working parents to maintain work/life balance. 3. My child hit their head at daycare, and a substantial gash was seen via photo from the daycare. According to Debra when I spoke with her: “She appears fine, and the bleeding has stopped, but I would like you, as the parent’ to make the call whether to take her to the Dr. or not”. When my husband spoke with her a short time later her disposition was: I dont think you guys need to come get her - the bleeding has stopped and she is fine and playing. Complete disconnect and no accountability for words/actions as the child care provider. My child ended up with 3 staples in the back of their head.I have many more examples of the poor communication, and lack of overall customer service we experienced at this daycare, but I am restricted by the character limit of the Google Review tool.Regarding the many positive Google Reviews for this company, in the end of Q3 of 2019 an incentive was provided: Submit positive Google Review, and delay an increase in tuition for an additional 6 months.
