This is a really good school education and teacher/staff wise, this school would make your kid ready for high school, the only issue is the principal, she’s very conservative and unbalanced. She has let students wear specific clothes and others not to wear the same. She doesn’t care about the students and is decently selfish. I believe this school would be so much better if they got a new principal. Other than that it is a great school with amazing people.

Short and sweet do not put your kids in the school you will be putting your kids in a bad situation

This school is decent i started my childhood here, good school to make friends. i was in this school 3rd-8th. makes you feel at home. im glad i went here, it helped me alot kinda happy i made friends here. the teachers are amazing too very nice. gonna miss everyone in dobson.

This school is not good for your kids the lunch is bad the education is OK the lunch is bad your kid is going to be starving because the lunch is bad the staff members are rude and the dress code is annoying

Been here only for a few months and i am tired of it.

I must say we are not even half way through our first year here and I could not be happier!I have a 13 year old son who has gained some self confidence! Coming from public schools where the teachers are overloaded and don’t seem to care, to here where even though this year is a learning curve for us all, you can tell they care! They also take pride in grades coming up because I believe they know they had a hand in that! I have an 8th grader and a 7th grader here, his grades although not perfect have improved so much and he actually understands the work and isn’t scared to ask questions if he doesn’t!My 7th grader is finally learning done morals and the true definition of friendship here!Especially with covid going on, they have all requirements ready, temps taken before leaving the vehicle, I feel perfectly safe sending my kids to in person learning during this unexpected crisis. I love the uniforms, instead of taking so much time to pick out outfits they can finally focus on learning! Huge shoutout to Mr. DeDonato and Ms. Jensen! You are all amazing, but you two are especially amazing! Thank you so much!

Love this school! I volunteer every week and have gotten to know a lot of the teachers and staff. Everyone is so caring and amazing, you can tell they truely enjoy their jobs. Dr. Winn is always available to answer any questions or concerns and make you feel welcome. I wish I would have found this school when my oldest was in Kinder, but at least my youngest gets an amazing education from the start.

So far so good. I am a nurturing parent with a positive outlook. I have noticed a vast difference not only in my daughters enthusiasm to learn, but also with her self-discipline in her home studies. They must be doing something right. A heart felt thank you to the caring staff. Some of these reviews are short witted and do not describe why they had a bad experience. I only trust reviews that share experiences. Otherwise it is just a complaint. Dobson Academy is amazing because it gives kids all the big school perks, with a close knit group of peers. Love the approach.

Dobson seems to be a hidden gem! They have been in the valley for 20 years, and though this is my daughters first year with them (Kindergarten), I discovered a lot of friends and coworkers who have children attending Dobson and the sentiment is always the same: They are outstanding! The curriculum is diverse, and the teachers are SO dedicated. They really go the extra mile to ensure the kids are getting the most rounded education and enjoy going to school every day. My daughter is very advanced in reading, and her teacher went the extra mile to give her more advanced reading assignments and math work so she would still be challenged (she is too young to skip a grade).If youre searching for a school for your little(s), from K-8, Dobson should be very high on your list!

This is not a very good school to enroll your children into. Take my word for this. In a Charter School like this, most of the families that enroll their children into it are Upper classed people who think that they are the richest people on the entire planet. Ok, that may not be true for all of the parents there, but a high percentage of them are. The teachers at this school say that they care about the students, but really they dont even make a move to help out the failing students at all. If only they could take 30 minutes out of their day to tutor the failing students, my opinion would be different, but it is true. Also, the student environment is horrible. A Large percent of bratty children will pick on your child and insult him/her. Another Point I shall bring up is that the school does not have a counselor like other schools. Finally, I shall say, just dont go to this school. You will be doing me, your child, and yourself a favor. If you want a good school, go to any other school than this.

Out of all the principal this school has had the new one is by far the worst. Yes she has made some improvements at our school but during her time she has made some stupid rules recently dobson was spray painted and you can see a male private on the side walk now thats not something a kid should see overall a very bad school.

Hi I am a mother of two boys ages seven and 10 and they have been attending this school since their kindergarten years. This school sad to say is very horrible. we have been through three principles in five years and the teachers there are fresh out of college with no experience, not knowing how to deal with kids on a day to day basis. And the one teacher that was good left after only one year. Shot out to Miss Bomberry.... she was a great teacher. I feel so sad beacaue I thought I had found a loving environment for my kids to learn in. But everyone there thinks there better than the next and not really friendly at all. They have Made false calls to CPS on two families including myself for unrealistic reasons and jumping to conclusions with out talking to the family’s or Gathering more solid information to support There allegation. What looks good on the outside is not always good on the inside. no diversity with teachers or staff,

This school sucks not gonna lie. the school is sexist. you get dresscoded for wearing jeans. you cant wear jeans bc they are skin tight but cant wear bell bottoms. and you cant wear baggy things either bc its a school of class i beg to differ. The principal handles situations really bad. To add on they wasted a bunch of money on wood chips just to get rid of it. if you are going there be aware of how the teachers tell u stuff for two seconds and expect you to learn. not hands on! if you are going to dobson academy, pack your kids lunch. school lunch is bad.

Staff is okay, but they dont listen to students recommendations, and the curriculm is not very easy to understand, and does not provide any hands on learning experiences. Its terrible.

Ok! This is not the... how to say BEST school! My daughter moved for a reason! From her 2nd - 5th grade years, She (they all) had 3 principals through the years she was there.(I know there were more, but you can see why!) Please be cautious when sending your kids to this school! As a mother, I know kids can really have HUGE personalities when coming onto ANOTHER student. Terrible school with terrible teachers that just graduated college and have no experience in managing a classroom. Administration is pretty useless to say the least if your student has problems. Save yourself the hassle and send your kids somewhere else.
