Looking forward to my dance lessons with my son for his wedding!

We just left the AM studio on Illinois St in downtown Chicago for a one-time dance lesson to help my daughter and I prepare for our wedding dance. Wow, this studio provided amazing help in such a short time. Exceeded our expectations. Dance instructor Stephen Baker - you are incredible and thanks for all your sensitivity and creatives ideas for the wedding.

This was the first place I ever took dance lessons. I liked the instructors a lot. However, Ive been to a few other places since then, and I have to say that Arthur Murray was the worst deal of any place I took dance lessons, and overall a worse experience than the other places, even ignoring price. The way they teach is far more oriented towards ballroom dance as a performance art than as a social activity even when you indicate strongly that thats not what you are trying to learn (but they dont tell you that this is what they specialize in). In general, Id say its much better to take lessons somewhere that primary does group lessons with private lessons to supplement them than vice versa. Your mileage may vary, but I found I learned faster and for a lot cheaper elsewhere.

Had my first ever dance lesson last night with Ellen. Loved it. So much fun. Great atmosphere, lovely people, everyone is super friendly and Ellen was a star. Thank you so much and will definitely be back.

Surprised not to see more glowing stars next to this dance venue. Its a studio for learning any and every dance at any level, not a club. Yet its open 6 days a week 8 hours a day w a great staff of personable talented instructors. Several party evenings and events every week. Great place to get started and keep going.

Amazing instructors and lessons. Private lessons are tailored to the students request and introduces new skillset, with group lessons enforcing the muscle memory thats learnt. Excellent!
