One of the things that sets Marcus aside from other CCL instructors is his PASSION! His class was very informative and I really appreciated the legal aspect. At the range, I was very nervous with it being my first time but Marcus helped me remain calm and stay focused on the task at hand. I would recommend this class to everyone, especially my black women! I definitely look forward to training with Marcus in the future!

The class I took at Black Matrix Academy was very informative on the do’s and don’t s for firearm ownership, and conceal and carry. The instructor made sure to tell us that it is imperative that we know the importance of handling firearms and being able to diffuse any situation so we all can live another day. I highly recommend taking the class to obtain knowledge about the Conceal and Carry and also Firearm Ownership, especially for those that don’t have much knowledge about firearms. The best part is that they actually take the time to really get you to understand all aspects that there is to firearms.

The Black Matrix Academy definitely knows they stuff and makes sure you do too. I truly enjoyed the class and gained more knowledge than expected. I recommend them to anyone who is new or old to gun handling.

I had a very positive and safe experience training with the Black Matrix Academy. We all know that being in a room full of inexperience firearm aficionados can be a precarious situation when actually handling firearms. The entire program was very above board and I would highly recommend Marcus, Mike, and Omar. they were very detail oriented, knowledgeable, experienced, and confident, all very good qualities for instructors to display while teaching. I really enjoyed learning all about the legalities concerning firearms in Illinois. I feel as though the course was a good foundation to build on in ongoing education and training.Big shout out to the BMA gang.

Black Matrix Academy is the place to go for your conceal and carry class. I had a great experience. I want to thank Yolanda for her amazing introductory to this academy. She was spot on with any questions that I had.The instructors Marcus and Mike were phenomenal. They were professional, patient, knowledgeable and most of all engaging. Marcus was pretty hilarious but real and thats how he taught the class. The instructors made sure there were no unanswered questions. I highly recommend black matrix academy. Marcus is a very knowledgeable and very friendly guy. He makes the environment as comfortable as possible while also staying professional. It’s a lot of information to receive at one time but he takes his time and makes sure everyone understands and that no one is left behind. It was my first time shooting a hand gun and he taught me all the right forms and techniques and made me feel like a pro. Definitely will be taking more courses with you guys. I highly recommend Black Matrix Academy for your conceal and carry certification. Instructor Darby was very knowledgeable and patient with answering all of my questions. He explains things using real scenarios which makes it relatable. At the beginning of day one of the class I knew nothing about guns, by day two that changed. I left the class knowing how to hold a gun properly, clean a gun, set my sights, focus on the target, gun safety and gun laws. The class was 8hrs long for two days and the instructor kept us laughing and energized. I will definitely be signing up for more training.
