I cant say enough good things about Lees Martial Art Academy. Not only do they help each student work up to his/her full potential, but they are concerned about each childs success in life, school, work, and family life. Their attention to health guidelines for Covid is excellent. I feel very safe sending my child there.

I’m 36 and have been a student at Lee’s in crystal lake for 3 years. I have 3 children learning there too. Like any sport or commitment, you get as much as you put in. As an adult I was looking to stay fit and learn an art that I enjoy. I didn’t know I would become a National Champion Gold Medalist. All the opportunity is there to excel as far as you want to go. Younger kids and adults have the option to even make the US Olympic team, yes right at Lee’s. They are connected to many local schools and are part of a much greater state and national community. Lees is home to multiple national champions. This is real deal stuff and no joke. If you just want to do regular classes then by all means you can do as you please and get whatever level of satisfaction from Lees that you desire. As an adult I can’t express the health benefits of staying in shape and wish more adults would join. Their Cary location is no different. Both schools are superb and hidden gems right here in our hometowns. You are never too old. Walking in the door is 90% of the battle. Kids love it and learn, team building, socialization, confidence, life lessons, and skills that’ll carry them through life. It’s not just kicking and punching. It’s so much deeper than that if you commit to wanting such discipline.

I have been so impressed with my sons growth the past few years at Lees Martial Arts. In the beginning he really enjoyed the classes, but attended sporadically. Over time, with gentle encouragement from Master John, he has become laser-focused on getting better at taekwondo. He has taken to heart the taekwondo tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit and applied it to everything he does in school and extracurriculars. He will soon be earning his black belt.I especially like the way Master John requires discipline but uses a sense of humor to make everything fun for the students. As students get better, they are encouraged to attend Leadership team and to assist teaching the newer students. Master John does a fantastic job teaching kids the important values of leadership that will benefit them throughout their lives. Go watch a class and youll see students helping other students, lots of encouragement, great exercise, and fun for all.

Terrible business. Avoid completely. We did the one year contract and were so glad we didnt sign the 3 year black belt club contract. All these people care about is sucking as much money out of parents as they can. The kids dont even have to earn their advancement belts. Awful experience. I wouldnt even give one star.

My son has finished his first year at Lee’s Martial arts. My son has ADHD with an anger piece, dx anxiety disorder. We have had an awesome experience at Lee’s. Master John and Jamie are both fantastic w my son and all the other students at TKD. My son is on less than half the medication he could be on for his weight and age. We attribute this to him learning self control, confidence, determination, and and the will to not give up at Lee’s. Even if he’s having a bad day he will go get his uniform on and go to class. He’s a different kid after class in a positive way. Master John was there to support him every step of the way during his first tournament experience my son performed in front of 100’s of people. He did awesome. We were so proud that he was able to over come his anxiety. My son looks up to master John. He is an awesome roll model for my son. My son will go and talk to him about difficult things going on as well as I do. This way we are able to bring the principles of TKD Home.Yes children test for belts everyother month. This helps with there confidence and gives them a goal to work towards.I 100% WOULD GO TO LEE’s!!!!!!! We love it.
