I love this studio! As soon as I joined I felt immediately welcomed. Sal is an amazing teacher and is really talented at creating fun choreography/combos. He has a lot of patience and makes classes fun. I love being part of the performing team as well.

This was such an amazing experience! My husband and I went to the level one salsa and bachata class led by Sal. He is an amazing instructor who took the whole class through the basic movements and into dancing with music. He made it so fun and inviting, keeping everyone engaged and included. The music he chose was upbeat and fun and his instruction was clear. We will definitely be coming back!

The teachers are great and patient. I have done a few lessons now and feel more confident in my dancing abilities and it is a good workout. I cant wait to test my skills on the dance floor.

Long story short I found Sals Studio through google after seeing Cumbia a few weeks before. Walked into my first Bachata group class having never taken a dance lesson or really knowing much about the style, and immediately felt welcomed.Sal, Orlando, and Lyndsey do a great job at creating a positive vibe environment while also knowing how to help you improve from any skill level.I went in with the sole purpose of learning how to partner dance the latin styles, and in the process I have met a lot of great people.Excellent instructors, studios, and community, 5 stars.

Sal is the BEST dance instructor in DFW! I have gone to over 5 different instructors classes and his is the best. Sal has such a good energy, extremely kind and his dancing skills are top notch! I did group classes with him and am now doing private classes. It’s the best private class I’ve been to! My skills have significantly improved and I tell all my dance friends about his studio and classes. I have been coming to the studio for 6 months now, and I love it. The instructors and the students are all so friendly and I enjoy seeing familiar faces every week. The studio has become my second home, and I learn something new/improve in my dancing every class I take.

Sal is awesome! My husband and I are trying to learn salsa for a party and wedding we have coming up. Sal is getting us up to speed very quickly. We have already had 6 private lessons with him. We are enjoying our classes with him and looking forward to showing off our new moves.

I have wanted to learn Bachata for a long time. I only recently decided to swallow my pride and dive in head-first. After only two private lessons, Ive already seen myself making better progress than I thought I would in three or four. Sal and Carla are both incredibly approachable, down-to-Earth people who have a remarkable passion for what they do. I love the fact that everyone in this studio wants you to have fun and focuses on social aspect of dancing. Socials and classes are intertwined so you are highly encouraged to practice regularly.I started taking classes at this studio after trying another places for a few classes. Every pattern is geared towards social dancing. They wont show you very complicated ballroom performance patterns unless you really ask for it :) Everything you learn can be applied on the dance floor depending on your talent and the amount of practice you put in :)I never had a dance training in my life before I started taking salsa and bachata classes. My ear was not musically trained either. Level one classes really helped me get my basic steps and trained my ear. I really started having fun once I started level two classes. And about a year later, I even performed a dance routine in front of a crowd.I highly recommend this studio to everyone regardless of their talent or dancing background.

If you want to learn salsa this is the place to do it. Laid back teaching style, professional studio, flexible scheduling, and affordable!My gf and I got a 5 pack of private lessons and we love it. I was a bit nervous when I started because I have never taken dance lessons but Sals style of teaching made me comfortable. Now we have a new way to enjoy our time together and it was well worth the investment.

Great community, great instructors, great place overall! The people here are so good at salsa dancing its just awesome. Even more awesome is the fact that you can go from absolute beginner to one really good salsa dancer at this place in a relatively short period of time. They have everything you need if you want it.

I have been taking classes with Salsabysal since October 2010. I love every aspect of it from learning new moves, meeting new people, going out dancing to making friendships that last forever. To me, taking salsa and bachata classes with Sal started as a hobby and became my extended family. The vibe is great in classes and Sal is an experienced and very entertaining instructor. He travels around the United States and takes workshops with the best in the industry and brings it back to teach his students. He is a very fun person to be around and never stops dancing! Made it to Salsabysal tonight and had a great time. My husband and I just moved to Texas from Florida and taking a salsa and Bachata at this studio felt very similar to being back home!! Im 23, have never been dancing anywhere and finally took the opportunity to have a night out w/friends, learning to dance. Felt nervous going in, but Sal is so personable, professional and funny (perfect combo for a teacher) getting us to relax and have fun as we learned the basics of Bachata, in the level 1 class :) The studio atmosphere is classy and comfortable, with a dignified air about it, making it a great place for all ages to come and have a safe, worry-free night, forgetting the work week and dancing under the instruction of a teacher who makes you feel welcome and full of potential. Hes a great host- youll feel like he personally invited you to come enjoy the night in his class and wants nothing more than to be sure youre enjoying yourself :) A humble, confident leader who thinks more of others than himself is hard to come by. I am very happy with the classes I am taking. The teachers are energetic, friendly and open to suggestions. It is always a pleasure to go. I think prices are good (unlimited classes for $100 ???!!!!) I also appreciate that students are encouraged to go dance socially, to have fun and practice their new skills. As we go as a group, all levels together, it is fun and not intimidating because we all know each other. I appreciate that there is no discrimination among levels, something that I had seen before in other studios. I have made many friends, from all over the world (yep, it is a very international group!!). Oh, and workshops are also organized to review or improve... it is the go-to studio if you want to learn salsa, bachata, and cumbia in a friendly, fun but studious environment!

Joseph and Ana are very talented couple instructors. I have taken their group lessons as well as their privates and they are very good at both. For Joseph, he talks to you in english not salsa language...A language u can understand and translate into your smooth easy to to do dance moves. He can teach a guy how to lead. He can teach girls how to follow. And then steps in Ana for you to either practice what you learned or fix something u got that needs attention, she is a smooth dancer, perfect instructor and gives you the needed feedback to continue along with your privates. In just 2 (to be honest) after the first, i found a huge difference in my style. I was able to work on stuff and GET IT than in all the group classes i have ever taken (its been a while). If you are SERIOUS about looking and feeling smooth on the dance floor, i highly recommend these talented couple for your private classes. I tried and i know its worth it.

Friendly and fun dance instruction. This was everything I was looking for and more as I decided to focus more attention on salsa, bachata and other latin styles of dance. I am much more confident in my moves then I thought I would be and have progressed further than expected in less than a month. At the end of the day you will get what you put into your classes but Sal and the other instructors are full of passion and an artistic eye to give you more than what you need for you to take it to that level. I am learning but most of all having a blast and making great new friends along the way! I couldnt recommend Sal and his team of dancers more!!!

I have always enjoyed social dancing, and recently I got the itch to try some formal salsa dance lessons. I decided to try Salsabysal after reading the Google reviews, and Im sure glad I did! Ive been going to Salsabysal for about a month now. Since day one, the instructors have made me so comfortable and they have turned what would normally be an intimidating situation into an exciting new venture. I would highly recommend starting with the private lessons. They gave me a great jump start before joining the group classes. My private lessons were mostly with Karla, who is a wonderful instructor! She was capable of teaching new things in such an efficient manner that I never left a class feeling like it wasnt worth the money. Sal was usually around to help with the mens styling/technique. Sal can explain the mens styling by breaking it down into such simple steps, that it usually clicks and that light bulb comes on. Within two weeks, I was out at the salsa clubs.Sal leads most of group classes, and does an excellent job teaching and making it fun. Its a chance to learn, and practice with other people. You constantly rotate partners so that you get a chance to dance with multiple people (which is important since everyone dances different).The social atmosphere is great! There are many opportunities to practice, other than just the classes. Sal is constantly inviting everyone out to the clubs after the classes, and usually a group of around 15-20 show up. There are events, cookouts, birthday parties... I feel like my social circle has grown tremendously in the short time Ive been there. It has been so much fun, and now I keep looking forward to the next time!

The best dance lessons in Dallas. I have been taking salsa and bachata with Sal for month and I can say I met alot of people and have an amazing teacher. He explains very thoroughly all the steps and makes learning very easy.

Salsa by Sal is a fantastic place to learn salsa, bachata and other latin dances in Dallas. Sals classes stress learning the fundamentals, and then quickly adding turns and spin combinations that you can go out into a club the same night and use. He does this by demonstrating a move, and then having class members pair up and try the move without music, then switch partners, then try the move with music, and switch partners again to continue practicing. The end result is youve learned a cool move, have met everyone else in the class, and its been a fun relaxed learning environment. Sals style of dancing is great for going out to the club, and emphasizes turns as well as footwork, and Sal is an expert in both. The atmosphere is extremely friendly, and I have become close friends with many of the people I met through classes, and we go out together almost weekly.

I am very pleased with what Sal has been able to teach me and continue to enjoy his lessons.Beforehand, I had no musicality whatsoever, nor had I ever even stepped onto any dance floor. I called Sal because I had to learn to dance before a trip to Mexico for my fiancés cousins Quinceañera. I was so nervous my first lesson and thought it was crazy but I had no other real option. Sal was able to help me find the beat, learn a variety of moves, and relax. That is very hard to do when you are doing something that is totally out of your comfort zone. I even through him a curveball towards the end when I found out our main dance was going to be Cumbia not Salsa as we had been practicing. I came back in 1 last time before my trip and he showed me what to do. I had a blast down south in Mexico and I have continued to take lessons. This time I am bringing my fiancé so that she may see the man that helped me dance with her.This will be something that I can carry with me for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend Sal to anyone in need of a great dance instructor, especially if your in a time crunch like I was!
