I’ve recently completed the EMT course and I am very happy with the quality of education I received. The instructors were supportive and did their best to set us up for success. This course (especially if accelerated) is not easy and if you don’t thoroughly read the assigned chapters you will struggle. In my experience, the instructors were open to discussing different methods/protocols and informing us what we need to know to pass the exam and how that might be different to what someone would be doing on the job. I really enjoyed the instructors and appreciated their willingness to provide resources and share experiences. Overall, I would definitely recommend this course for someone seeking an EMT program.

Highly, highly encourage getting EMS education from Denver Health! Took my EMT-Basic course through here and loved it. Thoroughly designed lectures, not too hard to manage with a full-time job, and incredible instructors. Despite having to work through Covid complications, instructors still sacrificed their time and health to be in person and engaging to all of us. Easily prepared me for my National Registry exam and every single skill instructor I met was well versed in their EMT knowledge. You do have to put in the work outside of class in order to be successful though. But, Paul Casler is the man! He is very passionate about EMS, incorporates a lot of real-time experience/examples in his lectures and overall great instructor. Well worth the fees/money incorporated to take this class.

The EMT program was a challenging and rewarding experience. The instructors are knowledgeable and have great experience to share with the students. Having several different instructors allowed for many different perspectives to be voiced. The challenges I saw in the program were due to COVID- it is difficult to learn EMS via zoom, but the skills week provides valuable knowledge. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to begin a career in EMS.

The truth of this school, and in my opinion, EMS in general, is you will get out of it what you put into it.The instructors are dedicated and compassionate, and are there to provide you with basic EMS skills and prepare you for employment and life in this field. They all have their unique stories and scenarios drawn on from experience to help you get more prepared.Again though, if you just put in the minimum amount of effort in — going to the minimum skills classes — and/or don’t take constructive criticism you are going to have a bad experience. This field is literally life and death at times, and you should prepare yourself for some of the intensity that comes with that. The areas for improvement, in my opinion, are the amount of communication could be increased — as well as the lack of clinical experience (though I can’t really hold that against the organization in the era of COVID, and will likely change with the next group of candidates). If you have an interest in medicine, and you’re serious about pursuing a career in it — Denver Health Paramedics is a good place to start.

I attended the EMT-B program with Denver Health and it was an excellent experience. The instructors were knowledgeable, interesting, and fun. After the program, facilitated extra study/practice sessions, and at home study, I easily passed the NREMT and hands on skills test. I really enjoyed the variety of guest instructors speaking on specialty topics such as search and rescue EMS operations/wilderness medical emergencies. I also found the tuition for the EMT program to be reasonable, especially compared to other programs. I would highly recommend this program. I would also like to give Andy a shout out for being an amazing primary instructor.

Mr Putnam, were you or anyone in your EMS Education department ever going to return my phone calls or emails regarding the cancelled emt class?

I attended this program from January 2015- May 2015. I finished the course by the skin of my teeth but I did not pass the NREMT. Most of the work was online and the in person skills check off was very inconsistent. I was traumatized by the amount of male instructors that was degrading the fact that I was a woman in a mans field of work. I was not happy with this program here at DH. I gladly went to Front Range Community College a few years later and that program was the best! I completed the program with flying colors and confidently passed the NREMT the first attempt! I will not be attending DH for paramedic school!

The two words that come to mind with this organization are unprofessional and unorganized. I was an EMT student with Denver Health, and Im really not happy with my choice to go to school here. I learned from several instructors, and the information they taught was inconsistent and often contradictory. I was shown a skill one day, practiced it repeatedly, and told the following day by a different instructor that what I was doing was wrong and that they would fail me on my skills check-offs if I did that. The inconsistency with instruction was beyond maddening. I dont think most instructors cared whether I learned the material or not. This makes sense because Denver Health doesnt actually hire any EMTs, so they dont have to deal with poorly trained people. Im leaving this course feeling like I completely wasted my time and money, and I would not recommend anybody complete a course through Denver Health.

I had the worst possible experience here, when I went in for skills week the instructors were all over the place they’re very inconsistent and I don’t think I would come back here for EMT school. I had an altercation with a teacher and really didn’t get the help that I needed instead of being educated on something I didn’t know I was degraded for it.

Denver Healths EMT course did not set me up for success to pass the NREMT and not to mention they were very unorganized and unprofessional. I’m happy I am done and completed the course so I don’t have to struggle through all the stress this program brings. But it doesn’t end there....they put the wrong completion date in my records so now I can’t get certified. AND they NEVER answer their phones. None of them. I have probably called over 30 times...so frustrating. I expected fair greater from them but they disappoint me every time. Don’t give these people your money or time as they don’t care about you at all.
