Turing School changed my life. I was working at IBM and my friend/coworker told me about Turing. I was at the time stuck in yet another dead-end job, and I was ready to start an actual career job. I attended Turing, and while I did graduate in the middle of COVID (which I hope goes without saying, isnt Turings fault!) I did end up getting my first software job within the first year after graduation, and now Ive actually begun to believe that I CAN buy a house, pay for our honeymoon, raise a family, and maybe even retire someday. Turing changed my life ^^,Turing Schools pros:- The people: Everyone I met there was kind-hearted, and the staff were just fantastic!- Module program/repeats: If youre not getting the material, you can repeat the mod to make sure you understand whats what! I repeated two mods, myself.- The network: Turings network is amazing. From the mentors to the staff, to the alumni - You have a whole world opened up to you through this network!- They care about you as a person. The cons:- Its hard. Easily the hardest thing Ive done in my life. Between class-time and homework I spent about 60-80 hours a week on this course. I cried fairly regularly, but I persevered!- Its a strain on relationships - But they have resources to help you and your partner prepare!- Its your life. because of the time investment of this school, I couldnt work. We were living off of one income at the time, which was difficult but we budgeted and made it through! If youre serious about wanting to change your life and enter the software industry - Turing is the place to go. Just remember, you will only get out of it what you put into it. Put in your hardest effort and you will succeed!

I went from seasonal biologist to employed software engineer in 8 months. A friend and alum recommended it. After some research I choose it due to social mission, duration, post grad employment numbers, and its non-profit status. I couldnt be any happier with my decision. The staff and instructors are great people. My cohort was full of great folks that helped support each other through the grueling process. Its the most challenging and also one of the most gratifying things ive ever done in my life. Ive already recommended it to several friends. Id make the same decision in a heartbeat.

Literally in the top three most challenging endeavors I’ve ever taken on, followed by the most extraordinary life change. They’re not kidding when they say they’ll prepare you for your worst day on the job, so that when that day comes you’re prepared.Everything I learned in the backend program was job and interview relevant. Turing has a dedicated staff willing to take feedback in order to grow, and ready to guide you whether you’re a student or alumni. Just do what they tell you to do, and it’ll work out!Turing isn’t for everyone, but it’s most definitely worth serious consideration if you’re curious.

I started at Turing in June 2019. Financial services had been my career up to that point but I really felt like I had maximized my learning in that setting and wanted to solve problems on a larger scale. Just like you are doing now, I looked at reviews for Turing. I was immediately blown away by the positive response. Everyone spoke about the great community, the challenges, and their success stories. For me, I was most excited about the challenge and the opportunity to develop the “grit” Jeff described at our first group meeting. Turing gives you the choice of learning back end or front end, and I wish I had dived deeper into the differences because I think I would have chosen back end given the chance again. However The front end program gave me the opportunity to focus on JavaScript which is the most popular programming language, so I couldn’t go wrong. The program is split into four 6 week modules with the first 2 probably being the most difficult since you are ramping up from scratch. The support from your teammates, mentors, and upper level students is one of the keys at Turing..:all you have to do is ask.Things to be ready for enrolling at Turing:1) high pressure2) little free time3) small amount of direction which is the Turing way..you learn how to learnBenefits ranked in my view1) grit2) friendships-the Turing community truly is amazing3) a new career that so far has given me everything I hoped for-work/life balance, great teammates, and fulfillmentTuring took my life on a completely different course, and I could not be more grateful for the community, education, and experience. Not much else to say except I highly recommend it.

Turing was by far the best career decision I have ever made in my life! This was my third (and likely final) career change because I finally have a job I love and seemingly limitless job opportunities. It was (and continues to be) an incredibly transformative experience. It’s not just a school, it is a community. I have a BS in psych, a Masters in elementary education, yet my Turing education is by far the most practical, profitable and empowering of any of my degrees. Such a better investment in my future! I can finally see a future with no crushing debt, which feels amazing.

This place changed my life. Been successfully working as a software developer for the past 3 years. The company I work for has also hired 4 other Turing graduates. If you put in the work here and are a decent human being you will do well.

While making a career switch I chose Turing to help propel me into the Software Development world. Every detail about Turing is great, including top notch instructors to carefully curated groups of students. Hands down best environment to get into Software, 5/5 would recommend anyone. Ive sent some of my personal friends through the program and theyve all had stellar experiences three years later.

This school is by far probably the biggest let down to my family. My Boyfriend at the time was so excited to go to Turing School, to find a good job here in Colorado where he has been for most of his adult life. Where me and my children reside. I always had a bad intuition but he was persistent because it would be good for our family, for our kids. Well he graduated months ago! Took a bigger strain on our relationship so he left. Had to leave his kids behind and go live in Texas and still cannot find a job and obviously no one at this school has helped him despite the increase in jobs here in Colorado. And now, my kids are fatherless. A broken home. Thanks Turing school. Thanks for absolutely nothing good but an extra bill.

Turing will make you dig deeper and discipline yourself like nothing else. If you stick with the program, they will turn you into an outstanding developer who knows the true meaning of high quality code.If youre looking to coast through a coding program and are ok with being mediocre, this is not the place for you. However, if you want to discover discipline, skill, and ultimately confidence that you didnt know you had, this is your ticket.

As a current student, I can say that this is the best, hardest, most taxing, most rewarding experience Ive ever had. Im developing a strong network of devs in the community and know that I will be able to find work. Im gaining strong professional skills and am excited to put them to use.

The epitome of victimhood culture celebrated.I know too many people that didnt receive what they were promised. Myself included. Jeffs a thief and owes me money; didnt fulfill a contractual obligation and attempts to indoctrinate the masses instead.
