As a parent who had her child attending this school when the pandemic occurred, I have to say that the response the school had reminded me of what I found so impressive and heart warming about MCHD Stapleton. I was proud to be able to say that they reached out and asked our community questions, listened with empathy, met people where they could, and followed with a true sense of empathy for what we were experiencing.I would also like to recognize his teacher and her resiliency in this situation. She set up a capstone meeting with my son which would be reoccurring everyday. Firstly, I appreciated the one on one time. Secondly, the joy and excitement that my son had at the idea that he would be able to spend time with her was so wonderful and truly a reminder for why I chose to have him with this school. When we zoomed with her, I confess I eavesdropped, he was so happy and I could actually hear his teacher smiling with him through the door. He would have stayed on for 3 hours if she didn’t have others to attend to. I know this is distance learning, and of course not the optimal way for a Montessori classroom to structure itself, but I can see the effort and I can still feel the connectedness.Since we began attending this schools campus 2 years ago, I have only been impressed with their effort to connect, create community, and enhance a childs education.

Our son started at MCHD when he was 13 months. The school community has helped nurture our son using the Montessori philosophy in such an authentic way. We are lucky to have this village and its dedicated staff helping guide us on our parenting journey. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

Our daughter started attending MCHD at the end of September this school year at the Primary level. Almost immediately we were blown away by the things she would share with us and what she was learning. All of the teachers are very caring and wonderful with the children. What I am most excited about is the fact that she will have the same teachers for the duration of her primary years. This consistency is hard to come by at any level of education. I would highly recommend MCHD to anyone looking for quality preschool education.

This is our third year at MCHD. The school sticks to the true Montessori model and our preschooler is thriving!

My son attended an MCHD primary classroom and returned for upper elementary. He loves the school so much that he decided to stay there for Middle school, and hes got all of his friends asking their parents to send them to MCHD! The classrooms are clean and spacious; the children are responsible for their individual work. Beside the core curriculum that includes all the usual subjects, the kids learn time management, planning, business, critical thinking, and how to build and nurture relationships. The teachers respect every child and set individual expectation for every child. I really wish my older daughter had gone to MCHD!

I usually do not leave negative reviews, and have decided to help other parents by writing this one to share our experience and dissatisfaction.Reason for our dissatisfaction stems from the schools inability to work with us, and passive aggressive steps taken to make us elect out of the school.Back in July17, wed expressed concerns about a teachers in-ability to connect with and not to continually confuse our kid with another in the classroom with a similar sounding name. She was absent minded and generally dis-interested in the kids in the room. We expressed our desire to change into a much more supportive classroom, but were denied and had to sit down with the teacher to work it out.It takes two to tango, and while we were working to focus on positive reinforcement behavior with our kids tantrums, the school and staff decided that the best thing to do, was to reward his negative behavior. Since he was now being rewarded for his negative behavior, escalations and and disruptions to our schedule came earlier and earlier each day, and that definitely had us questioning the institutions ability to handle and influence my kids future. For the amount we were paying in tuition, wed been promised that staff was well experienced at handling the most common situations from 3 year olds (emotional self-regulation that young kids do not have the skills for). This was definitely not the case. The administration gave us 3 days to seek alternative care, which added undue stress and forced us to use up almost all of our PTO to accommodate their failings. In addition, at one of kids birthday parties where we shared our experiences about the teacher and the administration, other parents expressed the same issue. They were also made to feel that the situation with their kids was also solely isolated to them and they were at fault. This pattern that clearly existed beyond our kid, makes me further question, the schools inability to take action with the teacher in question, instead of having my son to endure the emotional distress. We really hope that you, the parent reading this, strongly considers my experience with MCHD, and does give some serious thought before enrolling in this institution.

Our children have attended multiple Montessori schools in Denver. MCHD is great, but really lacks the personal touch of a smaller school. Their attention is spread a bit thin by managing a wide range of grades pre-school thru middle school, along with multiple locations.Their quality control of the classroom experience is a bit lacking.Having said that, we are so happy about the time our son spent there as the Montessori education is far better than any other pre-school education system we have seen.

Our daughter has been at MCHD for 3+ years. She completed her primary education and is now in the lower elementary program. We were planning to send her to public schools in our area, but have kept her at this school based on how much more she has learned and the joy she has of going to school everyday and I mean everyday. If you have not checked out this school, you should and even more so because of the elementary program.
