It took the pandemic shutdown for me to take video voice lessons, and it has been a revelation. Performance Highs Adrienne Osborn is right there, every week, as if in a real class. I can be anywhere. At home, in a car, or walking on the beach, and have a real voice lesson. And what a voice lesson it is. Adrienne brings out the best out of each lesson with warm encouragement, cheerful praise, and practical, laser-focused tips. What I like best is Adriennes bottomless bag of tricks, like Mary Poppins, try this, try that, and before you know it, you can sing a song better than you ever thought you could. She does not know this at the moment, but two tricks I learned last time have completely changed a song for me, by exercising previously unknown muscles in my face! I have been taking Voice lessons from Joe for the past couple of months and he is fantastic. Nobody has ever been able to describe the physical actions of good singing to me in a way that I recognized and could apply to my own voice. I have a deep baritone, and in the past Ive always tried reaching for those higher tenor notes, while ignoring the strong areas of my voice... with much disappointment. I’ve been playing and performing multiple instruments since I was a kid. I had always dreamt of singing but had always felt like my voice was stuck, what actually came out of my mouth wasn’t the voice I was hearing in my head. I came to Adrienne and Performance High with a good amount of musical experience and education on a variety of instruments, except for one - voice. As much as Id enjoyed my previous musical adventures, I knew I couldnt postpone any longer the pursuit of my dream of becoming a great singer.
