I was excited to bring my 2 year old only to be let down. They had what seemed to be a unprofessional unexperienced sitter who was trying to handle 5 kids. Needs a bit of work inside as well.

Seems this place is shut down. We have left over hours that we prepaid for and didn’t receive any notification about it closing.

Have always enjoyed green kids. I just don’t like that they play a movie during the day on the weekends. My son is an only child and hasn’t socialized much during quarantine so when Green Kids opened, I thought I’d take him so he could finally have some interaction with other kids. Well when I picked him up, he said they played a movie and he wasn’t allowed to play or make noise because it was quiet time. He was pretty upset that he didn’t get to play or interact with kids. I just don’t see why a drop in center would require kids to be quiet when it’s a place where they normally play. I think movies should be an event thing that parents sign up for and not a requirement. Some parents do drop their kid off to squeeze in some time to interact with others especially children who do not have siblings. But I do like green kids. They are friendly and place is clean, I feel safe dropping off my kid. Was just kind of bummed that I paid for my son to sit still and watch a movie.

This drop in center came under new ownership last year and my children are so much happier with the new staff. My kids have been coming to Green Kids every weekend for three years and really didn’t look forward to going and as a mother I felt terrible having to drop them off at a place they didn’t like but I had no choice as my job is right across the street and it was my only option. When the new owners took over and hired all new staff my kids immediately felt a difference and actually look forward to going every weekend. Everyone there is so friendly and professional and they are super interactive with the children. It is no longer just a place for them to go out of desperation but now it is a place where they learn and grow as individuals and always come home with details of all of the projects and activities they did for the day. I am so grateful for the new owners and staff. They truly have a love for all the children and it shows.

My daughter loves Green Kids Durham! Gaybriel is awesome!!! She treats my daughter as her on family!This is an update! My daughter has been going to green kids for 4 years. We’ve seen a huge change in the quality of care. I’ve spent plenty of money here and sadly it’s no longer worth it. They close early, don’t answer the phone, and don’t pay attention to the children. I have a package and can’t take my daughter because they will close if they only have 1 child or basically talk you out of leaving your child. It’s in a prime location so I suggest they close all of the accounts and close the business. It’s sad but true.

I’ve been sending my kids(2-7yrs old) here for the last year when I need to go to my weekly appointments. Clean environment and the staff is genuinely kind. My girl loves Mrs. Suzy! I worry easy, but this place had me feeling secure after the first visit. Also, my 6yr old autistic child comes when they are not in school and always leaves in a happy demeanor.....which is a big deal for us. Recommend getting a package deal if you plan to use it often so you can pay a lower hourly rate.

I have a 4yr old and a 6yr old who absolutely LOVE it when they find out they get to go to the Green Kids Drop In Center. When it’s time for me to pick them up there is always an inevitable melt down and my youngest, Jackson asks me to leave and come back later. 😂I really do feel like the staff genuinely cares about both of my children and are excited to see them when I drop them off. I own my own business and last min meetings pop up quite often. I am grateful that I have found a place that I feel comfortable and safe taking my children. This location is clean and has a really cool play area and slide.

Had a great experience. I dropped all 3 of my kids , ages 2, 3 & 8 and they all had a blast. The design with the indoor slide is adorable and they loved the mini door they got to go through. I loved that they all got to stay together, since the 2 youngest don’t typically go to a center. Would highly recommend and will be going back again!

My son absolutely loved his visit! We cant drive past without him asking to go again. Affordable with great hours, you can drop in any time to drop off your kids and get some time to yourself. Staff is friendly and engaging with the kids. Definitely would recommend to everyone!

I dropped off my child and was so impressed with the staff. They really tended to the needs of my kids. They were so great. My kids liked the activities and the play area. They have a variety of activities for all ages. Will definitely use this service again.

Our daughter attended Green kids since she was 4 yo. She is now 7yo. She loves playing there and always have a good time. The package hours is very affordable and doesnt expire so we can use it anytime we want. The staff are nice too!

Today was my son’s first visit and he loved it! As a parent I was super nervous to drop my child off to an unfamiliar place. However, it is very safe, secure, and kid friendly. He had fun and now I feel like I can take care of errands when needed.🙂

Green kids is great! My son is always excited to walk through the little door. We dont get to go too often since I need earlier care but the girls always remember our son when we check in! Affordable packages!

Clean, friendly, and amazingly convenient. The registration process was thorough but easy. The lunches are healthy with a variety of options, and the pick up process is secure and quick. It is with great honor and excitement to write this review for GK! I have been using GK for over EIGHT YEARS and wow what a life saver! I had never heard of the drop-in day care concept before but once I did, it became an absolute necessity. Whether youre a busy overworked parent who finally needs a break with alone time, or you need work-related child care, this is the place to be! No appts, no contracts, and open seven days a week (till 9 on weekdays and 11 on weekends!).The providers/teachers are friendly, attentive, fun, and energetic. You go MIA for a little while due to busy schedules and when you return, at least one person in there immediately recognizes your childs face and greets them as if the were just there yesterday and not gone for awhile.They have themed parties outside of the regular care set up to make things even more fun for the kids. They now have TONS on packages, memberships, discounts, and options to make it affordable and flexible for numerous types of family set-ups/needs. They often run specials and sometimes have payment plans on the large packages. The toys, games, and jungle gym area are great (and recently renovated).I cant believe its been 8 years and were still not gonna quit!!If they ever did a commercial, my son and I would love to be in it! :0 But in the meantime, I tell people about it ALL the time...so many who never heard of this concept or this place.THANKS GREENKIDS!!

Tried them because of the location and fortunately they had a groupon at the time. My kids absolutely enjoy coming to Green Kids. They love being able to play dress up and enjoy the toys that they have. Gabbi has been great with them! I definitely recommend this place. And, the location is great!

My girls (3&1) love it here! She doesn’t want to leave when it’s time to go. Every time after we leave my 3 year old says she wants to play with her friends again. It is very safe, so I don’t have to worry about somebody taking my children.

There are not many daycare centers that have late nights in Durham, and not many that I would trust my daughter with! This place is incredible - super secure, healthy snacks and foods, and the caretakers actually know what theyre doing! My daughter always wants to return to Green Kids.

My girls love going there! They beg for me to take them because they have a lot of fun. One of the employees there, Gabbi, shes always very helpful and friendly.

I have taken my daughter here a few times and I pleased with the experience. The staff was really good about letting me know how my daughter was and her mood. They were very patient with her and my daughter has asked to go back.

My kids love this drop in center. And I hope they see this message because there is no way to contact them through the website or leave a message because the voicemail box is always full. They need to do a better job of communicating holiday hours - change the outgoing message on voicemail and post something on the website!

Greenkids is my life saver whenever i need a childcare ( no need to make appointment etc) just drop my child there for my doctor appointment, errands etc. its so flexible! I have dropped my son of several times at this location. Every time he comes out with a smile on his face and ready to go back again. Never had an issue and would highly recommend it to any parent meeting at short-term child care.

My niece really loves and adores Green Kids. Its always a battle when the fun has to come to an end. Its heartwarming knowing my niece will be treated with love and care when surrounded by other amazing kids.

My toddler started going to Green Kids at the Morrisville location. She was apprehensive at first and so was I even though I had received great personal references. My initial experience was one Ill never forget. Gabbi comforted my crying toddler, played with her Minnie Mouse and held her until she was ready to get down and play. When they closed the location, I was so upset and now take my daughter to Durham, (I live in Raleigh), when I need to run errands so that she can see Gabbi. They all really take great care of her and she loves it there.

My child had separation issues when I first started using Green Kids 2 years ago (she was almost 15 months and had never been away from me). I was using them for a date night (first one since she was born). We had been told about trying their service for a 30 minute window when we didnt have plans but I was convinced that my outgoing girl would be fine! I got a call about 20 minutes after she was dropped off explaining that she was having a hard time. They were asking if they could try her snacks and milk that I had packed for her (I had asked them to give half way through visit). They had then informed me that they had already tried carrying her to show her around, reading to her, dress up, showing her other friends and even the tv. I felt terrible and guilty and sure snacks and milk were fine to try. I asked them to call me back again even if she was happy (I wouldnt have been able to enjoy my evening worrying about her). The nice young lady called me back and said that my daughter had not only settled in but she was pretending to feed one of the dolls snacks! Looking back I cannot believe that was already two years ago! My husband and I absolutely love Green Kids We have liked each of their managers and all of the nice young ladies that work there welcome my child to come play with them when she comes. She now says a quick bye and runs to go wash hands at drop off and is hard to get to leave at pick up! We have moved out of the area so we dont get to go as often anymore. We agree with some of the other reviews that it isnt the cheapest place, but they all are that way. It is much cheaper than the preschool I pay for now! My child would much rather be at Green Kids with other new friends and all of the fun toys then in her own playroom with a babysitter! I recommend Green Kids to all families, especially those who have little ones under 4.

Green Kids as is awesome! Our 2 yr old and 6 ur old love the areas they can play in from dress up,train table, art activities to climbing area. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Ive taken my son (now 21 months) several times. Hes had a great time each time and weve never had any issues with the staff or with our son having issues with the other Kids. They have a great agreement with The Melting Pot where you get 2 hours free if you eat dinner there.

The new owners have no idea what they are doing. Its obvious they have never owned a business before. I had an issue, and got into an argument with the owner and not one time did he apologize for what happened to both of my kids. No report was filled out. I only wanted them to handle things according when something happened to my children.My two daughters, the 4yr old has a scar on her head from a boy throwing a toy at her that was a little over a week ago. My 2yr old was bit on the arm, which, I actually addressed on the day that it happened, and was told oh Im not sureThe owner went on to say that he didnt think it happened because the lady that worked for him owned a day care in NY for 24 yrs (so... Things happens) then he said the only way to know for sure was to watch the video.The wife of his jumped in the conversation at the end and had the nerve to say that some times kids lie to stay out of trouble. Mother to motherWife from me to you. DO NOT EVER COME TO ME MOTHER TO MOTHER AGAIN. Especially when you are telling me that my kid is not telling the truth .I am not your friend, Im not you sister, and Im not associate. I dont even know you! I pay youdo me a service of child care. You all cant even do that. I own a business my self I would never treat my client the way you treated my family the other day.About the video. You should pull it up. I would love to see were my daughter was getting into trouble. And felt the need to make up a lie about both her and her sister getting injured. My kids dont like to be away from family, but they love green kids! There is lots to play and do. The staff are friendly and check in is efficient. The one thing I dont love is that the TV is often on.

Absolutely love this center...wish they would take children under 12 months old, this is the only reason we havent used them in the last 9 months is because we are waiting for the youngest to be old enough to go.

Marie, how can you have been involved with your daughter, the staff checking her in & also be aware of what the other women was doing the whole time?Fast food restaurants dont allow cell phone service as it looks bad on the floor & many are understaffed & underpaid, so less distractions for the overworked staff + less complaints from impatient customers.if youre suggesting that all businesses adopt practices similar to those in the fast food industry, i suppose youll be expecting a drive thru as well.You are correct, this is not a day care center. If you did not like it, or your child was harmed or had a bad time, please tell us about that, rather than youre appalled at the lack of service from a drop in center for kids. Im appalled you dont have a nanny, babysitter on call or as back up, and simply resort to window store day care centers. but, to each their own.

Gabby and Dajah makes the check in process quick and easy and im off to run mu errands or have a quiet dinner and movie with my love. The children absolutely love it! When they hear green kids, they automatically jump for joy and lined up at the door!

Green Kids Drop-in is by far the best drop-in center in Durham. The staff are friendly and experienced.

We dropped off our toddler here for the first time early last week. When we walked in to check in, throughout the entire check in process, the lady did not ask ONE question about our daughter. She was very unfriendly. She did not show our daughter any interest or talk to her whatsoever initially. I understand this is not a daycare, but when we had our child at Kids R Kids, when we first walked in, we as parents were the SECOND to be greeted. Our child was always greeted first and top priority. The other lady at Green Kids was sitting on the couch texting, on Facebook, constantly on her phone the whole time I checked in. Most servers in a restaurant are not even allowed to use their phones on the clock so it is shocking that while attending to the wellbeing of these children, that they are allowed to constantly be browsing the web. These two ladies were very unreceptive and definitely treated the center as if it were just a job to make money and pass the time. There is zero passion or interest for the kids whatsoever, not just shown for my child but for all the children. The energy is very apparent. This place, from what I saw although nice in appearance, makes me scared for the childrens wellbeing especially in the event of an emergency. Are they too nonchalant or constantly on their phones to notice if something is a mishap or even care enough to do something about it? There are several people who have had this same exact experience as I have, some even saying the ladies working became angry. The owners, on the outside, seem like good people that want the best for their business and the children attending, so maybe some remedial training might help.

We love GreenKids! My children are 7 & 8 and they are always asking to go. We did several weeks of camp (which we got BOGO through one of their specials) plus we had an hourly package and I couldnt be happier. Yes, the prices are stiff if you have more than one kid, but that is why we purchased the package and I plan on getting another one when this one is used up. My only wish is that during the summer/track outs/days off they opened up a little earlier, 8 or 8:30 perhaps, since it seems like there would be more demand for flexible hours during that time. The staff has been incredibly friendly, knows us all by name, and always welcomes us with a smile. We couldnt be happier.

I agree with the other poor-to-fair reviews. The people there seem to be in over their head, to say the least. We dropped off our 14 month old at 6pm, and evidently she started to cry and continued until we returned 1.5 hours later. They had two phone numbers on hand in order to reach us, and tried only one, but did not leave a message. They didnt know why they didnt try the other number, nor why they didnt leave a message. They kept coming up with excuses without trying to learn about their flaws: perhaps the other phone number was a long distance number (the one they tried was also long distance! and by the way, many folks have long distance cell numbers! all evidence of their ignorance and youth and carelessness), perhaps we should try weekdays in the morning (why not tell clients that up front?), and so on. Utterly un-professional. Heres some advise: never take a child under the age of 2 there. Period. Its chaotic, and the attendants just stand there at let the older kids run around and dominate. And oh: there was a 10 year old on a beanbag playing with a cell phone ap: so, whos watching whom? Nobody is watching anybody. I felt sick when I saw our kid just crying there.
