Today was an awesome day! It was my 1st training with SC Gun School, and my God it was money well spent! It was great to be around fellow classmates that have a passion for guns and training. The instructor was a very nice personable guy, who has a wealth of knowledge in his craft. We did a number of skills drills that progress your skills and confidence with every repetition throughout the day. The instructor does a great job of tying in the real life application to the drills we are doing, which gives a sense of purpose and urgency to each drill. This really made me focus in on form, technique, and making sure every round counts. If you love guns like me, youll be hard pressed to leave this school without a smile on your face.

Took Chriss CWP class and I am very satisfied with the experience. Chris had the personality that I needed; understanding of me being new and very helpful in guiding my practice with care and kindness. The carbine class was well designed. The drills were practical and systematically progressed/build upon each other to build confidence in functional self-defense skills. The movement and shoulder-switching drills were extremely insightful.I wished that we had changed targets more frequently to better track progress. A restroom/porta-potty might be a good addition but did not interfere with our training.Chris was easy to talk with, encouraged and clearly answered all questions, and gave clear honest feedback to improve performance.

I took the CWP course with Chris, and I felt like I was not only putting my money to great use but also getting the best instruction possible. Chris is a great instructor. He makes the class fun, and you learn a lot from him. I highly recommend SCGS. I will definitely be back to receive additional training from SCGS.

I can not say enough good things about Chris and my experience with him at the intro to firearms class. I wanted a direct and thorough breakdown of to safely use a handgun along with an overall knowledge of guns in general. He took the time to go over everything, answer all questions and trust me we had a lot, demo and let take down and fire multiple weapons so we felt more comfortable. I left the class with a desire to take ALL his classes and with more confidence.So if you want a honest and direct gun instructor he is it!

For someone new to firearms Chris has great communication skills and makes the class enjoyable. He is also an instructor that believes in continuing his education and expertise through personally going to classes which as a student gives you a comfort level that he is keeping his skills and knowledge sharp. I’m definitely planning on taking more of his classes. I highly recommend taking one of his offered classes and see for yourself.

I really appreciated Chriss expertise but also his light-heartedness and laughter. As a long time gun owner and concealed carry moving here from another state, its not that fun to have to take the same long class all over again just to get a new license. Chris helped make the day fly by and had some new information I didnt know about that was really helpful. Most importantly, he was very patient with a customer in our class that was a complete newbie and did not get upset or yell at them. I highly recommend this school.

I have taken three classes now with Chris and SC Gun School. Chris patiently took me from a total newbie who had never shot a gun to having my CCP and feeling much more confident. With carrying a weapon comes great responsibility so I will be continuing to take classes from Chris and using his pistol practice classes to stay ready should I ever need to use my weapon. My son and I participated in Stay Alive, Rifle Tactics 101, and Shotgun Tactics 101 over a three day period. The training was comprehensive and valuable. Chris is very patient, informative, and knowledgeable. We will apply the lessons learned from Chris training through practicing the fundamentals. My experience with Chris and the Intro to Firearms class was nothing short of Amazing. I went into this class feeling really uneasy about handling and using a gun. I left this class with the confidence to not only handle a gun , but to select my own and continue on with the CWP class. You will NOT regret this class. A must for anyone considering taking the CWP and a must for anyone uneasy around fire arms. Chris was knowledgeable, patient, personable and well prepared. After looking at some reviews of the SC Gun School I decided to give them a shot. The price was unbeatable. If you are a first time gun owner they do not require a belt or holster for the test which was great for me since I didnt want to pay for an open carry holster. Also Chris was an awesome instructor. He made the 8 hours of the CWP class breeze by. He broke down everything so that even a child could understand it. I cant recommend SC Gun School enough. Completely worth the extra drive time for the best firearms instructor Ive run across. If youre not quite sold then check out the official youtube for the school. Instructor Chris Liles provides a great Conceal Weapon Permit (CWP) class. He covers the highlights needed for legal and responsible gunownership and carry, including applicable laws. Most of all he explains HOW TO SAFELY OWN AND CARRY with CONFIDENCE. The class portion was very informative, and the gun range portion was conducted safely and professionally. Well worth the price of class. I will be returning for his other classes.

Learned a lot of things that you cant just look up online, very knowledgeable people when it comes to guns and understanding safety, handling and responsibility when it comes to your weapon, will highly recommend them to anybody that wants to get the right gun training

Awesome! I just finished Pistol 201 with Chris and had a ton of fun and really learned a lot. It was a very positive and no-pressure learning environment. Chris is knowledgeable in many areas pertaining to guns as well as people with guns. Hes up-to-date on the local laws, is safety conscious, and smart to the inner workings and design of a wide variety of guns. I personally appreciated his advice and critique throughout the hands-on part of the class. I found it uncanny, in a good way, how he connected my firing behaviors (like grip and arm movement) with what was going through my mind. Thus, his guidance was always exactly what I needed to hear and do to better my shooting.

I had a great time working with Chris (Instructor) on my firearm proficiency at the SCGS. I attended the Fighting Pistol course this past Sunday and can say I left with more confidence in my abilities than when I arrived. If youre looking for firearm instruction in SC, look no further. I fully intend on signing up for the next level as soon as I can make the trip.

I took the Fighting Pistol Class with my father and we had a great time. The instructor (Chris) was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We were able to learn a tremendous amount from the day and had tons of fun in the process. I would certainly take another class with SC Gun School!

I just finished taking the fighting pistol class with my wife. This was my 4th time in the class but my wifes 1st time. She was reluctant to come, but Chris gave her lots of encouragement and good instruction. By the end of the day, she was working through the induced malfunctions and magazine changes. She was even starting to laugh and have some fun!Chris has a wealth of knowledge and an easy going nature that is conducive to learning and will get you going with the confidence to handle your firearm!

Very knowledgeable and runs a pressure free class.I come from PA and its worth the 9.5 hour drive each way.Ive take 3 separate rifle classes, 2 pistol classes and a private class in the last 4 years.Im already signed up for another class.Im a combat veteran with some physical limitations due to my injuries and Chris is absolutely great adjusting the training to meet my physical issues.I personally like that he is a veteran, I always try to bring my VFW buddies or brothers o deployed with to his class.Thanks Chris, you run a top notch class.

The course is filled with top notch instruction on weapon transition, moving and shooting, malfunction drills, team bounding, shooting from around barricades, reloading, and much much more. Took fighting pistol AND rifle and had a BLAST. Only con I had was rain was forecasted and ended up being sunny and a sauna. Will definitely be back for Tactical pistol and rifle but will wait till fall or winter. Will not find a better class for the money!!! Chris is awesome!!!!!

I am so so pleased with the instruction and training I received from Chris. He runs a non pressure training facility, while still pushing you to be better. I greatly appreciate his kindest with letting my future wife hang out on both days. Defensive rifle class taught me a lot in regards to transitions between rifle and pistol, shooting right handed then switching to left hand. Defensive pistol class definitely helped me with proper technique of coming out of my holster and coming to low ready. I cannot praise Chris enough!!!! Even my better half is wanting to take both classes this fall...

Excellent course for those wishing to bring their competency up from the basic CWP license level and indoor range training. This course trains students to deal with a number of scenarios that are difficult for the average CWP holder to practice...scenarios that are difficult, if not impossible, to practice on an indoor range. Chris really knows his stuff and spends the time to explain both the how and why of each technique he teaches. I learned a lot in this 8 hour course and now have a solid grounding in dynamic shooting techniques. The course covers a lot of ground, but Chris takes time to allow enough repetitions to for students become comfortable with a technique before moving to the next. The instruction quality was first rate and you can immediately tell that Chris wants his students to come away with useful, life saving skills. He also makes the course fun! Ill be back for additional training from the excellent school.

Took a fighting rilfe class to finish off the year. Had a great time. Chris had everything prepared, and organized. Class content was covered in detail and was exatly what was in the desciption. I look forward to a future class with S.C. Gun School. Make sure you show up with an open mind and youll leave not only a better shooter but a better protector.

I highly recommend taking the Intro to Carbine class. I really appreciate Chris and his willingness to answer any questions and assist in helping find answers or solutions. Chris will also go over topics/drills in the class as many times as needed and has a genuine desire to teach and help people. The goal of the class is to give individuals the basics and knowledge to obtain a solid foundation to build on. I really like that SCGS encourages their students to also learn from other resources and schools to find what works for the individual the best. SCGS does not push or pretend to have “the way” for anything. I thouroughly enjoyed this class and working with Chris. I am looking forward to taking more classes at SCGS and feel that I have solid foundational skills to build on.
