A great school with an outstanding curriculum. Any expression cannot describe how much hard work that the staff at St. Helenas put to nurture their students and to give them the ability to accomplish anything that their students can dream of.With group work, which is a standard of social learning where the teacher pairs two random students together to work on an assignment. This not only enriches their minds, but also develops the feeling of the real world where you are paired with someone who you either like or dislike.This school also provides Religion, which is a very spiritual course for not only for Catholics, but for any religion. It teaches about the stories of the Old and New Testament, and teaches that no matter how diverse, you must always love one another. After daily announcements, prayers, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the schools mission statement, the principal always says the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.This school is strict when it comes to bullying, and will do anything in their power to make sure that a student walks out of school everyday with a smile on their faces.For standardized testing, public schools take the PARCC exam. Many students find it stressful to take this test in the restricted time limits. At St. Helenas, the skilled and understanding teachers will give longer time for the IOWA exam, which is multiple choice only. The students then learn essay writing because teachers in the upper grades give essays as assignments. If a student is falling behind in school or is struggling, the school has free academic aid. The school hires state-of-the-art teachers to help students who excel in learning.Our schools also an athletically strong school. With not only a basketball and track teams, but also an amazing physical education teacher who teaches many sports, including volleyball, kickball, and 4-Square. At the end of our gym classes, students always do some deep breathing to help calm down their pulse, which just also happens to quiet the students down. She is also our health teacher, and she teaches students about really interesting parts of your body, like your brain, heart, or just your overall body.Recently, this school received the title of a Blue Ribbon School. This is because of their academic excellence nationwide. In all aspects, this school is an absolute dream. The school has a proficient and efficient school curriculum, outstanding athletic programs, the title of Blue Ribbon, all at an affordable and reasonable cost.As a student at St. Helenas, I am proud to say that my time at St. Helenas will probably be one of the greatest experiences that I will have throughout my lifetime.

The teachers are very good. They focus on all kids equally and always ready to help the ones who are little behind. I gave four only because I feel they give too much homework and too many tests even for the lower grades. I think kids at that age need to have time to play and do lot more than just education. I like the school but my daughter not soo much because she came from a school ( her old school) where they have lot of sports and after school activities almost every alternate day :(

This is our first year with St. Helena. The year has just started.. and without a lot of experience with the school, I am compelled to write this review.The school /class looks OK from an academics perspective.Here are the issues:If you dont do your homework - the little ones dont get the center time (circle time). They are put on the side of the class and asked to complete yesterdays homework. These are little kids who have not been in school setting before and the environment should be such that they feel encouraged to learn in a nurturing environment - not reprimanded for not completing the homework.They ask for wipes, tissues, napkins. Agree that these are expensive items that every parent should contribute... but if you dont.. the teacher explicitly tells your little one that you dont get to choose your buddy for center time. Only kids of parents who have provided the requested items are allowed to choose their buddies for center time.These are 4-5 year old kids who should develop enjoyment for school not a phobia for it. My kid has been going to day care for a couple of years and is a happy kid, but is very unhappy to go everyday.

Love the school safe environment. My kids have been there since kindergarten and they love St. Helena School. Teachers are great. The principal is strict but that’s what makes St. Helena a great school

This school is the ideal facility to educate your children. They offer a well rounded curriculum without the over crowding of public schools at an affordable price. Give your children the advantage of getting into a better high school and college with a great foundation.

I was once warned that parishioners living locally opt not to hear mass here because you will be mocked and be glared at if you give littlemoney donation. My sister- in-law’s children go to this school. They are parishioners and will be summoned if they give little money donation. They were told to give $$ to compensate for the discount they get for enrolling their parishioner children. On top of that, they have to do service hours or pay $1600 or $1700. And yet, according to her, a lot of days go by when children go to class and not learning anything. This issue was brought up to the Parish Priest and Principal many times and they refuse to do anything about this.

Church and school treat you good because of two things: 1.) they like you ( favorite 2.) you give money. The rest, beware! Get out!!!!!!!!!!

Its the only Catholic Church in North Edison (NJ). Weekday masses at 8:30. Ample parking. St. Helena has the first statue of St. Josemaria Escriva in a United States diocesan church.
