First time coming in, got my strings changed out, was shown how to do it in the future, and it was on the house! Great atmosphere, very inviting. 10/10 experience! Only downside was that I didnt get to leave a tip!

The review is toward the violin instructor alone...not the shop.I was very disappointed from the first conversation wed had. Went ahead with a lesson anyway to see if things could improve in person. She only allowed me a 30 minute lesson in which she tried selling me new strings for my brand new violin and critiquing the instrument itself. I learned nothing for $30. She then pushed to get me on a weekly appointment schedule, which I didnt feel comfortable with her. She also wanted me to sign a contract with her before I even went to my first lesson. I told her I wasnt comfortable with it without having more experience with her first. She then fired me because I was not pursuing the instrument like her other students.During our lesson, she placed tape on my instrument (without asking me if I was alright with it) but assured me (after she was already going) that it will come off. I tried getting the tape off and now my brand new violin is covered in gooey residue. Very very disappointed in this whole experience ☹

I have been a customer since AMP opened here in Flagstaff and have always been happy with there customer service and pricing. Ive also used their repair department and have always been happy except for one time. I took my guitar back and explained the problem and they made it right! They really do focus on customer satisfaction. Im glad we have a music shop like AMP here in Flagstaff!

Idk if it’s just me, or what, but when I walked in there, they ignored me almost the whole time, I was looking to buy a guitar and when I started playing one, I played like, one riff and the guy came up and said “it just sounds like you’re here to play thats it” while other people are jamming their hearts out, I gave him the guitar and thought “why is he letting the other people play and not me”, so I just brushed it off and just wanted to buy picks instead, because the experience, I didn’t want to buy a guitar from there, so I went to buy picks, I was using credit card, and he told me “I’m sorry but there’s a $10 limit for credit cards”, so by the time he said that I just walked out, pretty SUS

Everyone Ive dealt with here has always been so helpful and kind. Ive been to other music stores where Ive had less pleasant experiences with staff who are polite, rude, or a bit snooty. Pleased to say Arizona Music Pro has never been that way. Plus, their prices are very reasonable.

Neil Wilson adjusted the action on a Godin mandolin for me, and the result was much better than i had hoped for. The labor cost was unreasonably low, in my view, since it takes a special talent to work on something that tiny, requiring that level of precision. Much appreciated.

Neil helped my daughter buy her first electric guitar. Since she was buying with her own money she had been saving for a year, he was extra attentive and helped her find a good deal on an amp. He also taught her how to restring the guitar which was a cool experience for her too. These guys really care about music and musicians from beginner to pro!

To all touring musicians, you gotta stop here! I’m touring with my band, Fort Vine, and I stopped in for some strings and picks. I also needed some advice about repairing my acoustic guitar because it has acquired some cracks in the dry Arizona weather. I spoke with Neil, who is the guitar tech and he went above and beyond with suggestions and detailed instructions about what to do and how to repair my guitar. Neil was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and really positive. This is the major benefit about stopping at privately owned music stores verses the chains. You get smiles, good service and intelligent staff. I will definitely be stopping at this music shop on our way back though Flagstaff in the Spring. Thank you Neil for being so great!

I had been “away” from guitar for years and had never owned an acoustic of any decent quality. Even during these pandemic times, Rich took the time to go over more than a few acoustic options for me (even playing them so that I could get a sense of the differences in wood species). This was probably the best music store experience I have ever had. Went into the store, and the guy working there was really watching me. didn’t like it at all, he kept asking me if i sanitized myself, asking if i read the sign which which i did. to top it off, i was looking at a guitar and the same guy watching me was telling me not to touch it or anything. how can i not hold the guitar and play it for just a minute without him breathing down my neck. you have all those guitars and employees standing around, i’m sure you all can find time to wipe every instrument down after someone has played it. instead of telling me not to touch it. i just left the store upset. also there was a lady there playing the keyboard. she was touching everything. as a native american male, i felt like i wasn’t welcome there.

Over the years, weve done it all with our kids at AZ Music Pro -- taken lessons, rented instruments, bought new instruments, gotten guitars customized and repaired. Cant wait for my son to play his custom Telecaster after Neils custom work.

This store has the worst service I’ve ever experienced the employees are rude and unhelpful, their selection of guitars under 600 dollars is awful for people who can’t afford to pay their same rent for a guitar. Even getting your guitar restrung is 30 bucks. The only reason this business is still open is because it’s the only guitar store in flagstaff and has no competition. If you really want a good deal, drive down to Phoenix and go to guitar center.

Im a regular client of amp for strings and other general items for my instruments however i was super impressed by the repair shop! I took in my electric bass to get a new nut installed, and without fuss or the feeling i usually get of disturbing the tech at such places they swooped up my bass and performed a quality professional fix including sizing the nut for the strings i use! To say i was blown away by the service would be an understatement, if you need your instrument repaired and comfort in knowing your musical investment is going to be taken care of in the best possible condition and handled with respect and care go here!!!

I bought my first Martin guitar from Arizona Music Pro about 15 years ago and this store has only gotten better and better. Neil and Rich are an awesome team behind the sales counter. Talk about a combination of enthusiasm, experience and great customer service. Rachel is an amazing teacher and teaches my daughter the violin. She teaches several instruments actually. She has a great rapport with my daughter and easily relates musical concepts to her. I couldn’t imagine a better music instructor or sales staff. I’m sure all the other employees there I have yet to meet are just as awesome as these guys. This store is stocked with experience, love of music and merchandise for every instrument you can think of. This store is locally owned, so support these guys and the great talent our town has to offer… not amazon!

The store is super helpful and has a great variety of instruments and gear. The repair department is very friendly and in it to help the customer. Theyre very efficient, very straight forward with talking you through every step of fixing your guitar (as well as other instruments)and maintaining it. Neil the guitar guy is very friendly, great technician, and will probably give you some kind of deal. Its a one stop shop for every musicians needs. 10/10

I bought a guitar for my daughter at a pawn shop and it was missing a few things so we came in here to get her set up. Neil and Joey brought the house DOWN with their incredible customer service!!!! Not only did they change out the strings and give us a new string pin, but they also cleaned/shined the guitar up. The former string pins didnt fit so Neil got a file and custom fit ALL the pins. The whole time, he functioned with a really great, upbeat energy. You can tell he loves his craft. We made a new friend while in the store who was looking to form a band and Joey was really helpful in getting her resources for posting, ideas for networking and he even jammed with her on some of the in-house guitars.The thing that struck me was the fact that we came in 15 minutes prior to the store closing and they didnt seem to mind. They stayed committed to the job until it was done.I am so happy my daughter has a place to come and get support, resources and excellent service. We will definitely be back for our guitar needs!

Let me start off by saying that when I walked in I felt a little clueless. I was there to trade my guitar, and didnt know how to go about that. But I was immediately addressed, and taken care off with a quickness, and with a very respectful and courteous atmosphere. Needless to say, I felt at home in this shop. Secondly, these people definitely know what they are doing, and will help you find the musical instrument that fits you (Or fix yours if thats what you need). I brought two instruments into this shop, one broken and one in great shape. They found the guitar that spoke to me, and fixed my girlfriends mandolin (which we had been struggling with for months). Neil is a great man with a great attitude, with a huge surplus of musical knowledge that he seems more than happy to share with you. Avery is a younger kid, but his wisdom and experience with music speaks for itself. Overall these guys get a ten out of five. Best shop Ive been to in my short life. Thanks guys!!

Dropped my beautiful Taylor Acoustic and the body busted open. Then I dropped it off at A.M.P. They treated her like a queen and had her fixed right up in a couple weeks. There are few cosmetic blemishes but she sounds great! Thank you Arizona Music Pro for fixing my Talyor. They even offered a discount for fees because they didnt want the guitar to stay too long at the shop. I highly recommend A.M.P.!

I am an 86 year old man. I came into your store and was amazed at what a nice store. It is nicer than any I’ve seen in the valley. Remarkable for Flagstaff and I was told it has been in business with the same local owner for 20 years! Neil knew I had never been there before and gave me a tour of the place starting with the bathroom. I couldn’t believe all the band instruments and guitars, the store just kept going. Neil showed me the repair areas and the school area with 8 lesson rooms and a stage for recitals. There were even sound equipment and lights built into the ceiling for the stage. I saw Avery and met Vince, each employee as nice and helpful as the next. Thank you gentlemen for the nice visit to your store.

So far Ive had experiences with sales, service AND music lessons.Ill start with the lessons. If you live anywhere near this place, go see Neil and get on his schedule or have him figure out the right fit for you (I drive up from Sedona and it is worth my time). Ive learned an incredible amount in just three months. Dont get me wrong, I practice... but knowing major and minor diatonic, pentatonic, melodic minor, whole step and some other funky scales in every key plus the 7 (5) modes and when to use them plus hundreds of chord voicings, triads, etc. its mind blowing. I am at this point what you might call a lifer.As for service... my setups have been spot on. Thats all I can say. I havent needed any repairs, but if I do Im coming here.I also bought a guitar at this place. No hassle no pressure sort of environment which was really nice. I also got a deal.5/5 stars all around for this place

Great friendly staff. The repair shop crew is incredibly helpful and goes out of their way to help you out for a reasonable price. The mechanic Neil is a great dude and has extensive knowledge on instruments. Hes never failed to answer a question and knows the right people to ask if it is out of his specialty.

The store in general is awesome and stocked with a variety of musical instruments and accessories. This is not a Big Box Store, its been locally owned and operated for 20 years, and has just continued to improve over the years! Dont go somewhere else just to support local... your already here! The employees will also help you try out an instrument before you buy... which is so much better than purchasing off the internet. Overall I cant think of anything these guys could be doing better! They even have their own parking, so you dont have to deal with the hassle of the downtown parking fees :-)

Best guitar shop in town! My son had a couple broken tuning screws. Neil, the repair manager, had some matching parts in stock and was able to fix while I waited. Super friendly and knowledgeable.

This store is amazing! Not only do they have a mind-boggling selection of music-making equipment, the service was a cut above the rest.
