My children attended TAFA for a number of years. Initially we thought that we were all believers in Christ and there would be no partiality. As time passed, my wife and I felt the unfriendly vibe from some of the staff and patrons. Based on the continuous action the following year my wife and I realized that some of these individuals had some type of issue with people of a darker skin tone.I will share a story of an issue we had with one teacher specifically who would make hurtful comments and treat our child like she was less than human. Around the end of the tafa year I brought my child to practice for the end of the year performance and all the chair in the class were taken except the chair the teachers iPad was on.My child kneeled on the floor and began to put her instrument together on the floor. The teacher looked at my child and looked at the chair her iPad was on and continued her lesson with no care or concern. I was hurt and upset at what I saw, I opened the door and told my child to get up off the floor and removed the device from the chair and gave it to my child to sit on. At that moment I was disgusted and made the decision that my children will never come back. Please understand that the programs at tara are good and not all the people are like this, but some of the staff and patron have hateful beliefs that are contrary to the word of God.

We are finishing our third year at TAFA. The teachers are knowledgeable and experienced in their field and most importantly put God first in their classrooms and in their lives. What an amazing group of families supporting on another!

Travis Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA) has been an amazing blessing to my family and the growing home education community as well. Our experience with the bands and art sides of the program has been phenomenal. My students can attest to the fact that they have been empowered, challenged, and grown as artists. We love TAFA!

We are finishing up our first year at TAFA. It has been a wonderful experience. As homeschoolers, I never thought my kids would have the opportunity to participate in band, but TAFA makes it possible at a reasonable cost. The teachers and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. My oldest son had an excellent year in beginners band and is excited for concert band next year. My second son will be in the beginners band next year as well.

We love TAFA! My children are all in band, and theyve also taken art, ballet, and drama. The teachers are highly skilled in their field and passionate about God and the kids they teach. Most could be making much more money teaching somewhere else, but they are at TAFA because they love it and are called to be there. We have also been blessed by the other students and parents weve met through the TAFA program.

We are about to start our seventh year at TAFA. I cannot sing enough praises about TAFA. It has given my boys so many wonderful opportunities that as a homeschool family we may not have gotten to experience. Both of my boys are in the band. They both love music now. They have even learned other instruments on their own! The band director is awesome! She holds them to a higher standard and they rise up!! She loves our kids and wants them to be the best they can be to honor and glorify God. We have also taken some art classes, drama classes and academic classes. The teachers are wonderful. Most send out a yearly or semester syllabus so we have dates on assignments due way in advance. After taking some of these courses my son had no problem transitioning to TCC for dual credit courses. We LOVE TAFA!!!!!
