Minnieland would have got a zero if that were an option. My kids have been going to Minnieland for almost 2 years. Since than my child has been forgotten about during both breakfast and lunchtime. My child takes the bus from school back to Minnieland in the afternoon where they were responsible for giving my child lunch. The day (the director )Whitney Murray got fired for having a family altercation in front of the school-age classroom (my child included) they forgot to feed my child lunch. When my child told the teacher she was hungry and didnt get lunch the teachers response was snack is in an hour. My child went ten hours that day without having a proper meal. When I spoke to the area director about the issue she apologized and said she forgot to tell the teachers to feed the bus riders. This is not an excuse!! When I asked if she also forgot to give her staff a lunch break she had no response. This is just one of the many things that has happened at this Minnieland. Now I have no choice at this point in minnielands ability to make sure my child gets lunch after coming back from school I have to take time from work to call and have someone physically check to make sure someone doesnt forget to give my child lunch. I want to speak to upper management above Amanda Kay so somebody needs to reach out to me ASAP!

I cant say enough good things about the center, the work well with the children. They are professional and always have a warm smile, you can tell they care about the children. During the pandemic they have been firm on following all CDC and VA suggestions and I trust my children are in great care. Thank you for all you do!

I can not say enough great things about Minnieland Academy at England Run. My 5 year old had a hard time with child care/virtual kindergarten environment at a different facility. Whitney Murphy and her staff at Minnieland have been wonderful helping him adjust to the school/child care atmosphere. I get daily feedback and the big kicker is communication. I would highly recommend them!

England Run is an amazing center. The teachers are extremely nice. The Director, Resa and Assistant Director, Whitney are wonderful and are always available to answer any questions I have. They are so very caring. The cook Noreen is always pleasant. My daughter has been at this location for quite some time and I have never felt more safe and comfortable knowing she is in good hands. Thank you so much to the staff who has cared for my children as if they were their own

My daughter fell while in the teachers care here. (Children fall, especially toddlers, I understand) No one saw it, witnessed it, or documented it. When I picked her up in the evening and she had a giant blue knot on her forehead, all of the teachers looked at me clueless, saying they had no idea what happened. THEN tried to tell me the bruise was there in the morning when I brought her in. I told them I had photos of her from the morning, before I brought her in, then suddenly they say “oops, we were looking at a health observation form from a different morning.” Took talking to corporate and pulling tapes to find out what happened and while even then they were ADAMANT on not showing me the tapes, best they could come up with was that she fell, and not one of the three teachers in the room, one of whom (according to the camera) was right next to her, saw it happen. When I questioned the corporate employee on why I was still not allowed to see what happened on the camera for myself, she told me “we are a company based on integrity, and honestly, if they had done something abusive or neglectful, wouldn’t it have been easier for them to have lied about what happened, instead of being honest and saying they didn’t know?” That’s the level of professionalism I received. Being told that they must be honest or else they would’ve lied better. That was the specific incident that made me take my daughter elsewhere. Beyond that, my daughter was CONSTANTLY sick this winter, and i thought it was from just being in a daycare, but has not been sick once since leaving Minnieland and attending a new daycare. She’s had multiple colds, the flu, RSV, roseola, etc while attending this school. It didn’t seem the most sanitary at all.The director, upon my daughter’s first week there, asked me how old she was, and decided to give me her concerns on how my daughter was not walking yet. (She was not even a year old) and then added how my daughter was not even crawling “the way that she should”. My daughter is now 17 months and walks fine, it was hurtful to hear an unwarranted medical opinion from a daycare manager. Also, finally, I’d like to note that I think it’s ridiculous that in an attempt to shine through all the bad reviews, that the assistant director, Whitney, will make a good review on this site about how wonderful the director and assistant director (herself) are. Reviews should be left by unbiased parties unrelated to the company, seems really dishonest.

I love all the teachers and staff members so much. My daughter has been going for almost a year and we haven’t had any problems. They inform us on how she is doing throughout the day and they are very clean.

As a former employee at England Run and current mother to a child who attends Minnieland, I cannot begin to express my love for the staff, program, and happiness that consumes us each and every day.I had a very particular idea of the kind of environment I wanted my child to be a part of when I was searching for an early learning center. I was drawn back to the England Run Minnieland because honestly, there was not another center that met me expectations like this one. The moment my daughter was enrolled she was welcomed with so much love and positive energy. She amazes our family by the new things she learns each and every day with so much enthusiasm and excitement. This is what parents look for in an early learning center.Minnieland @ England Run is shaping my daughter into a well-rounded, confident, smart, and happy individual. The curriculum and encouragement from her teachers are preparing her for the future in a way that makes her want to learn. The positive energy and constant communication from the directors and her teachers makes me feel beyond comfortable and confident my daughter is in the best care. I couldnt ask for a better group of people or program for her. She truly is learning in a loving environment.

The 2 months my son was there, i was HIGHLY disappointment in this establishment. My son was sick 3 times while in the care of you all. I kept trying to figure out why, only to discover the reason behind it. I watched your teachers change diapers and use the tablet right after, to document it. No big deal right? Well that tablet she touched, she used the same hands she just changed a dirty diaper with!! The same hands she uses to pick up kids and the same hands she makes food with. Thats honestly DISGUSTING!! You know what else is gross? People kiss kids that arent their! DONT FIX to put your lips on a kid that inst yours. What if I kissed your child? You have no idea where my lips where last, DO YOU? Makes you think, doesnt it..To top it all off, I come to pick up my son 2 days before his last day and i stand outside the classroom door for a few to observer. While observing I watched the teacher interact with the kids, my son is has a personality was standing up making some noise. When he should of been sitting down listening. Instead of handling the situation the proper way. Christina decide to raise her voice and say Shut your mouth and sit your butt down. Since when was this a way to talk to a child? How would have you have felt being talk to like that as an ADULT? SO UPSET

I could write for days about how happy I have been with Minnieland at England Run. From our very first visit on they have exceeded my expectations. I work mostly from home but needed a place for my 11 month old son to stay one day a week for the occasions where I needed to go into the office. I looked at nine different daycare centers, including a few other Minnieland locations, from Fredericksburg up to Arlington where my office is. While they all seemed competent I had an immediate comfort level at the England Run center that I hadn’t felt anywhere else. I toured with the Assistant Director, Tracy, who greeted me at the door and immediately made me feel right at home. She showed me the entire center, answering my questions along the way. She introduced me to the ladies who would be my son’s teachers, and immediately I was impressed. They were all so nice, and two of them had each been there six years or more, which says a lot. It was obvious that they truly enjoyed their jobs, enjoyed the kids. Afterward both Tracy and the Director, Jennifer, spent almost a half hour talking to me and answering more questions. My son had previously been enrolled at another center that a friend recommended and I left because I was really unhappy with them. Tracy and Jennifer were able to answer every one of my concerns. Two days after our tour I got a note from them saying how much they enjoyed meeting me and thanking me for coming in, and my son got a note from one of his future teachers, Mary, that she enjoyed meeting him and hoped he could come back soon to play.I enrolled Sam a few days later and every day that I take him reaffirms that I made the right choice. They are always friendly. The rooms are clean and well organized. The teachers are fantastic, and even though our son only goes once a week they remember details about our family and life outside of daycare. They really go out of their way to make sure that our son still gets to participate in all of the curriculum items like art, reading, and music. It’s clear that even at that young age the teachers are focused on teaching, and not just babysitting. In fact, even at only one day a week I feel like our son is greatly benefited by attending. They really help our son to transition comfortably when I drop him off, and it’s obvious that each teacher really cares about the kids. I’m not sure how they manage it but I’ve never seen any child just left to cry, even for a few minutes, which used to happen often at our previous daycare. I have never had a single concern with this center; I know each time I drop my son off that he is in excellent hands at the most caring, competent and well-run center anywhere in this area.

I have witnessed with my own eyes a caregiver in the infant room kiss an infant on the lips. This is inapproriate!!! I could only imagine if the parent of that little girl knew this was happening. No way should a caregiver be kissing a child on the mouth. Herpes/cold sores can be spread by mouth, but aside from that it is unacceptable. The flu season is terrible this year and precautions should be taken to keep the kids healthy. I would suggest finding somewhere else to send your child for daycare.

Minnieland has always been very helpful with me and my son. I can remember when I first moved to Virginia I was late coming home from a meeting and there was an accident on the freeway. Of course being new to the area I had no idea how to get around it. Ms. Roxanne called me and stayed on the phone with me while she directed me through the back roads to get there. I of course was freaking out I have never been late to pick up my son and she was so calm and patient with me I will never forget it. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable sending my son here. He loves all the teachers and tells me that daily. Thanks Minnieland for all your help.

No! My child acted like she was starving when I picked her up. They pressured me to puttng her in a 3yr and up room stating she was ready for underwear and she definitely was not! Had an accident everyday sometimes even 2x. They also was allowing her to wipe herself and shes 2! Which of course caused a UTI. Then they took my $100 for summer registration which she wont attend because I took her out! The front desk lady Rebecca (who keeps calling me) told me I can use a vacation week then I got an email saying they would apply the $100 towards the tuition that I owe because I only gave a week notice and not 2! I wasnt able to pay the tuition (for which she didn’t attend) because im moving and have to pay her current daycare, but they keep calling and now the balance is $232 for a week tuition and a late fee. What a joke! Sell it to collections and id rather pay them! Stop harassing me over services I never received! I lost more money when I had to miss work for a UTI my child had due to ur workers and procedures! I would not recommend them!

I am so fed up with Minnieland in England Run. My daughter (2) and son (1) have been attending there for about 2 months. My son is constantly sick im constantly getting called saying he is throwing up or has a fever and every time i take him to the dr he is fine. well today. i get a phone call stating my son has hives all over his face chest and stomach. i asked them to send me pictures. i get the pictures and immideatly call back asking when he started to break out. she tells me hours ago. first of all with hand foot mouth going around the very first time you see a hive on a child you should be calling to let their parent know. not hours later when their whole poor little face and body is covered in it. there is no excuse for them not contacting me immediately about his illness. im contacting a lawyer.my daughter cries so bad when i drop her off thatit brings tears to my eyes like as if she is scared to be there and when i pick them up she is running to the point where she is falling down trying to get back into my arms. they both seem as if they barley eaten a 1&2 year old shouldnt eat two plates of dinner if they have eaten proper meals during the day.
