I go to this store because its convenient as it is near my home and I dont have to fight the tourist crowd near the beach but this store has struggled with keeping employees and managers and keeping products in stock. There were no paper towels, no deodorizing sprays, 2 or 3 packages of toilet paper and 4 bottles of dawn dishwashing liquid. Please somebody help this store!!!!

I just don’t understand why this family dollar has more people working here and yet the milkman has been sitting on the side waiting to get checked in .They’ll say because of the 18 wheeler they got but that’s not the case at all . the milk is sitting in room temperature which cannot be good for the milk seeing as the hotter the milk the more likely the milk will go bad …. Definitely not buying milk here and the people here

Stuff all in the aisles, no recovery, the cashier had no idea how to tell me my subtotal, I will never go to this store again.

Its a hot mess. Nothing put away crates and boxes stacked around. Shelves are impossible to locate anything. Its clear the employees here just dont care.Update. Well i will give points for having the boxes and other items on the shelves but the choice of music being blasted through the store would not be on my play list. Id rather have had quiet compared to the tortured sounds of the singing. They were fast at processing the line of people so points there but the friendliness of my cashier was less than positive. He seemed bothered that people were in his store.

There is nothing fantastic about this location. The cashiers are not mean or nice, they are just numb and there.

It has alot of stuff Food-Clothes etc but why is there always 1 worker 😂

Great variety of items and friendly staff. However the exterior environment of the building is atrocious and an eyesore. Corporate needs to spend some time to clean the trash and trim the trees and work daily trash pickup into an employees schedule.

People check their prices when they are going to pay they are cheating them they put a price on the shelves and when they are in the box they charge another and if you claim it you get the two managers who are useless for nothing more than arguing with an attitude as if you were asking them for free, they think that they do in favor of selling us something, do not let them report them to the consumer law and that they do an audit suddenly with the theft they do with the prices

They had what I needed and at a reasonable price .

This place produces so much litter. The storefront is always filthy to the point of clogging drains, causing puddles and mosquitoes. As for their goods, they have low quality, with high markups. I have read that a Family Dollar is a sign one lives in a food desert with immediate property values declining.

Friendly staff, fully stocked on items I purchased and checkout was fast!

Pretty much always well stock except on the coins mainly pennies so its best to use 💳 when shopping.

Used the live across from here .. went their daily .. some great cashiers and the manager is a stand up guy

This place made me as an out of Towner welcome. The staff was extremely helpful and inviingi. I recommend this location to anyone that wants a home town feeel.

I just left the store and the newest cashier either: a) cant calculate that %75 off a $3.00 is .75 cent b) didnt read the sign in front of summer clearance items at her own store c) doesnt know that it is illegal to not sell an item for the CLEARLY advertised price identicated by the sign right in front of it or d) just didnt give a shiggidy e) all of the above. I vote for answer choice E.It is just a drop in the bucket, but I will not visit this location again.

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. Store is always stocked. But they need to keep the aisles a little more accessable during stocking tomes

I was verbally attacked by some rude unclean guy directly in front of the cashier, and instead of her helping me in any way whatsoever she began to do as he did. I will NEVER Ggo to ANY family dollar EVER AGAIN. Unprofessional unsafe and ghetto I could not believe it I live nearby however that experience lost my business forever and I have informed absolutely every single person I have been able to get to listen to me it was horribly absurd and disgusting professionalism and thats putting it politely honestly

I went to buy a cell phone it was around 9:00 and the lady said you can’t you have to come back in the morning. On another occasion I walk there about a mile I show up around 930 and they’ve already locked the door it says till 10:00. I am very disappointed with this store

The store was absolutely a disaster! They had 4 employees working. Three females were standing around and talking. A number of aisles had boxes everywhere. Merchandise just thrown on the floor. Most of the aisles you couldnt even walk down. Wont ever go back!!!

A good place to buy last minute items but they have no AM/FM radios at this Family Dollar Store

Poor customer service the store was full of clutter and unorganized and the staff didnt know their policies and the employees left box cutter on a lower shelf, unattended.

Prices are decent but store is dirty and cluttered.

I walked into store #08794 at 2102 45th Street, Galveston, TX 77550 today around noon, and I walked into the store intending to buy some cheap trash bags. I realized I didnt bring any money with me, so I was leaving to go back across the street and get money to make the purchase. On the way out of the store, the manager stopped me and asked if he could help me. I told him I was going to buy bags but had to go get some money, and then I asked if they were hiring. He immediately told me no, and a man who I assumed was the district manager also added that no the store is not hiring. I return back to the laundry and told my wife what had occurred. Minutes later, she then went into the store to buy the bags. She asked the manager the same exact question, and he immediately told her yes they were hiring, explained how to apply, asked her name, and was extremely friendly to her in regards to her inquiry. I returned to the store and asked both managers the reason I was told no they are not hiring and my wife was told otherwise. The store manager lied to me saying he told her they were only accepting applications, yet that isnt what he did at all. After saying yes they are hiring, he told her to fill out an application. She inquired if it was a paper application or if it needed to be done online. He told her to apply at the kiosk at the front of the store. When she told him she had to take care of some things and would return later, he made sure to ask her name. Neither man had the decency to apologize to me, even though I was very distraught and on the verge of tears over my mistreatment. We are considering going to the media over this situation or contacting an attorney. What those two men did to me today was wrong, and I assumed they thought I was a thief. The starkest differences between my wife and I: I was dressed well, wearing a collared shirt and dress shoes, clean cut, and shaved as I am looking for work. My wife was very dressed down. She was wearing flips flops, messy hair in a clip, wearing a mens t-shirt and has multiple tattoos showing. She is caucasian, and I am African American.

Its an okay place to go to if you need something quickly you dont have to drive so far to the bigger stores just a bit pricier than if you were to go to the big chain stores

This place is always messy! I have been in there three times for something quick and it looks like the same way as the first time!

If I could I would give this a negative rating. I use to frequent that store on a regular basis until the other day when I was standing in line I was forced to listen to an unnecessary conversation between the manager (who was sitting on the floor behind the counter) and a friend of his who was checking out, degrade (using very foul, abusive, and vulgur language) an employee ( who apparently wasnt there). The manager Anthony needs to keep his political views and ideas to himself! When me and other families are in there shopping, our comfort and pleasant shopping experience is the main priority. Please fire this guy. He is corrupting the other workers with his hateful political views and ideas. As a business owner on this island I would never allow someone so disrespectful and hateful to be in a position of leadership over other people.

I went in on 11/04/17 with my 5 & 7 yr old daughters. The short fat white guy (asst mgr) and the young black girl at the register decided to play a joke on my 7yr old when she asked where is the restroom (I was by the makeup & able to watch & listen) the black girl told her its broken in which the asst mgr gave her away & laughed and said its what, & she made a face at him to which he followed suit and told my 7yr old oh yeah its broken. From the look on their faces when I opened my mouth they werent expecting her parent pop up. My husband came in & I told him what happened. Long story short they gave 3 different stories (the toilet is not working, the restroom is dirty bc of another customer & no one has time to clean it, & they were instructed by mgmt to not allow anyone in) A 3rd employee let my daughter in the restroom (It was clean & working). AND they have a public rr AND an employee rr! I took a pic of a paper that on the rr door for complaints. The asst mgr claimed to not know the mgrs # or anyones number or their name. And gave us a bogus phone # of a non FD employee. What damage was a 7yr old girl going to do except for pee on herself & on the floor. And no Im not from Galveston and yes I was paying customer.

Would be nice if they actually stayed open until 10pm like the store hours states. Got there at 950 and doors are already locked 😡 I nust wanted a pack of cigs. I wasnt trying to go shopping and spend an hour there smh

I live near the store so I go pretty often the staff is friendly but the isle are always crowded everytime I come in.They need a new stocker cause the one they have sucks although I never see one.Hire some help and stop being cheap please.

There were potholes in front, and it felt very unsafe after dark. Due to the insecurity, even batteries were kept in a locked case. I left without purchasing anything, because I was worried about the security of my vehicle.

I used to like coming to this store. There was an employee that worked there that kept the store very clean but had gotten fired for a stupid reason for trying to stop a thief and had no warning or anything just fired. I went in that store one time after he was fired the store is so unorganized you can barely see the store cause they are letting all the lights burn out. Hate to say this but you would be better off going to Walmart.
