Hello; I would like to share a little bit about my experience at Arizona Automotive Institute. I was recently a student at aai I graduated in 2021.You really get out what you put into it. Attending aai Was fun, rewarding And a lot of encouragement. I showed up for school almost every single day and I got out of it what I wanted. The instructors were very Knowledgeable. I did all the homework exercises and all my welds in the lab.Worked a full-time job, had family time and I went to school at night was at times a little difficult but very exhilarating. I achieved a big task.thanks

I graduated from aai in 1977, I worked the automotive trade for a year and while I didnt stay in the trade, the diploma enabled me to get a job at the local PUD .My teachers were great and I am thankful for the experience I had in az and aai .

Do not listen to the people who put (5 stars) because this school doesn’t teach you anything and the teachers there are so unprofessional just a waste of time and money. Recommend you not to waste your time and effort into this joke man.

This is my second complaint about a very unprofessional teacher there. This particular one, likes to belittle students in front of others. Also gossips alot about things unrelated to class. This incident happened on Wed. Jan 20th at 10:00 pm. This is un called for and very unprofessional. This teacher should be removed! AAI should be able to figure who this is by the date and time I listed.

The school classes are great. however the financial aid people are terrible. they waited until Nov to let my son know he owed them money by January in order to get his diploma. Since he can not pay that amount so quickly they are holding his diploma hostage and he cant get a job without that diploma. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Fantastic school with very knowledgeable instructors who have years of experience in the automotive industry. Youll also have hands on experience with a variety of vehicles during five hour lab days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As an added bonus you can also work on your own vehicle if it correlates with what youre doing in lab that semester.

I pay $20,000 for the afternoon class and was told I can switch class times any day of week to line up with my work schedule. I showed up the first day and they said the afternoon class was cancelled but five weeks later the afternoon class would start again. Five weeks later there is still no afternoon class and we cant switch class unless we tell them in advance. The toilet in the bathroom isnt even attached to the floor, I bet all of UTIs toilets are attached to the ground. If I wouldve know they wouldnt keep there word with what they told me and what was written down on paper I wouldve gone to uti. I got my uniform 3 weeks late, tools came on time. Instructor was has been late and missed days often. Often times you feel confused as to what your supposed to be doing since a lot of the teachers would rather stand out side in a circle and smoke then go in a show you how to weld.

When you go to sign up they will make you all kinds of promises they cant keep just so you sign up and are contracted into paying them $20,000The booth vents dont work, a few of the stick welding machines can barely hold a stick. Faulty or damaged equipment should be given to us when each student is $20,000 5 students is $100,000 theres of 25 students in the morning classes and they cant even afford working, non damaged tools etc. Now that im going to school there the instructors are great but the school itself just want your money! Go to UTI or apply for an apprenticeship

The instructors were knowledgeable in their courses and ALL Strove to give each of us the best of their knowledge and love of the car. Some in not so preferable ways. Not even to me still. But, Alas;We are OLD SCHOOL.Had out careers and retired in multitudes of fashions and fates.Thank you for giving this females pioneer the building blocks that still make me proud of what Ive learned and done in my lifetime.Sincerely,Tina Marie HillClass of 6/82-6/83.

Good luck with trying to make a payment to the school when nobody in financial aid doesnt even answer the dam phone in days even after leaving message after message! I can truly say that they play a big role on having your payments go to collections if it gets to that. Alexis is freaking awesome though!!!

Instructors worked hard and were very insightful and great mentors, front office people and all those involved with enrollment were great an knowledgeable and made it easy to enroll, at the end of the program youre not given dedicated time to practice and pass your weld test to become certified so you most likely will have to come back on your own time and practice because apparently spending $20,000 doesnt merit having actual time set aside to prepare to get certified, this school needs to make sure its students have proper thickness material and time to pass the welding certification tests.

So i took the welding program. Huge waste of time and money. They have book work but the just go over the answers on the test and go to lab. I learned zero from this program. They do have all of the materials to practice with, for 20,000$. Just spend 2 grand on a nice machine and gas and all of that and practice in your garage. Also in the welding industry they do have a shortage of welders. But this is a shortage of master welders. Companies refuse to hire new people fresh out of school due to the fact that this pos school doesnt teach you anything but how to run a bead. Also the instructors are all good honest guys who are willing to teach you but considering the master welder thing it doesnt matter. And when you need to find a job they give any job they can for 12-15$ an hour but tell you not to take pay lower then that. All around its a big waste of time and money.

As a former instructor there i can say that they truly care about the students . Unfortunately theyre bound by regulation to teach a lot of things you may not necessarily need in the field but a more educated and more informed professional its never a bad thing unfortunately they fired me due to an unknown illness I have that makes me pass out and I missed the class

Well, let me start off by saying this place is a gigantic waste of money. Then, let me continue on to say that after you waste your money here they will get you ten years down the road by saying that they have no record of paymentI attended in 2008, my father paid my initial fees (around 800 dollars) and the rest of the costs were covered by loans.I attended the school for about half a semester, TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. They charged me four thousand dollars in total for those 45ish days. The teacher knew less about the subject than most of his students, we were constantly correcting him (the other teacher, mr stricklett, was pretty awesome though, hope hes well away from these douchebags).Anyhow, I cut bait and continued working at the shop i was at, then started my own, then I got into industrial maintenance.I was all fine and dandy losing my four grand, I moved on with my life.I got a call a few months ago out of the blue, ten years later saying that I owe them the initial 800 dollars with interest, making it 1900 dollars!!!My father died 8 years ago and i have no way of proving he paid, so, here I am writing this reviewThese people suck, dont trust them,go to a community college, better curriculum for a fraction of the price.Yours truly

Okay here it is. I will give an honest review of this place. I completed the Occupational Associates Degree program and learned a lot. Prior to signing up I knew nothing about cars. I couldnt tell you where the oil filter on a car was much less where to fill it up. The class began without 30 students. At the end of the program I was very comfortable with getting an entry level job. The class size drop dramatically. Some people dropped out and others or lazy. After I graduated I did get a good job working at a dealership. So in all honesty the school is what you make it. If you go with a mindset to learn you will learn. Beware because the school is like a mini jail full of unscrupulous shady people. As long as you have your focus you will be pleased. Whatever you put into the school is what youll get out. The tuition is cheaper than UTI but not as accredited. Although I did enjoy my experience if I could do it again I would have browsed other schools for the cheapest solution. So dont be lazy, and dont take no elses opinion get in there and see for yourself about the school.

Currently attending the CW program, half way into the 10 months, they decided to change rules and grading on things unrelated to the trade in the job, school, if you enjoy being treated like a 6 year old this is the school for you. i only rated one star because i had to. i use to enjoy going to school, but now it feels like ive enrolled into tent city, on another note the staff and directors have zero concern for your safty and well being. it is very little hands on training for sucsess

I graduated oct of 2014 from the diesel program. you get what you put into your education show up on time, ask questions, and participate. if you dont your not going to learn. I am currently a diagnostic technician at a Mack / Volvo dealership making good pay because i created this habit at AAI. i would not waste your money on another school wyo-tech, uti, ect. No matter what school you go to your going to start off at the bottom and its up to you weather youll pay 20 or 40 thousand dollars for the same knowledge. the teachers know there stuff and will focus on things you will most likely be doing right out of school. I only give 4 out of 5 stars because they did not find me a job like they said they would, but thanks to Mr Francos class i had a awesome resume and i drove up to flagstaff and found a job within 2 days.

I dont know how folks can bad-mouth, A A I, saying that they cant find a job or that they are in the hole $ XXX Grand. These people obviously havent tried very hard or just do not know how to apply themselves or how to apply the knowledge that they took in at A A I. There is something wrong here, but I will tell you its not the school!I am an A A I alumni from 1976, I came straight out of high school with only a very basic knowledge of the automobile. My high school auto shop teacher made it all so confusing. After attending A A I I had a very complete, thorough, confidant understanding of all the aspects of automotive functions! After graduating, I went back to my home town and went to work at a local gas-station and repair shop. I was able to apply my new knowledge of the trade and was soon earning a decent wage. Two years later I moved to California and took a job at a Honda car dealership. They started me as an apprentice and the next year I had enough confidence to go take the A S E certification tests. I TOOK all 8 at the same time, 4 one week and 4 the next week. One month later got my A S E MASTERS certification. I got almost a ten dollar raise and was made a Journeyman Technician at the dealership. I have had a very lucrative career as an automotive technician ! I make upwards of 60K a year doing something that I dearly love to do.If it werent for A A I I would not have had the most amazing life that I have!A A I IS an amazing school. So to all of you thinking of going, pay attention in class, ask questions if your lost or confused. They really do want you to GET IT.So, to all of the whiners whom have posted their maligning complaints, WELL, you didnt pay ATTENTION IN CLASS, so you get to PAY for taking up the time of some of the GREATEST Instructors that the industries have to offer. Also you have taken up valuable time for your former classmates whom may have missed out on a very valuable portion of THEIR education. In conclusion, when in my late thirties, I had the distinct pleasure of passing along many aspects of the automotive trades to, two young technicians, just starting out with our company. Both of these young men had gone though the automotive program at the rival school of A A I, thats was U T I! I dont mind saying that I was less then impressed with their knowledge. They were confused on so many of the very basics, that I just couldnt help myself, but to set them on the straight and narrow. Now, both of them have gone on to achieve their Master, A S E Certifications.Im proud of A A I and what they have to offer >ANYONE< whom is willing to learn a trade of craft, should just GO FOR IT !! It will be worth it.
