I have taken martial arts a bit before joining this group . It was a tae kwan do class , a lot of students and kata without any hands on . And 12 year black belts , Really ...This group is like a family we train together and help each other learn . It is definitely hands on so you know when class is done that you have something to work with . I am 57 and have been training here for about 14 years . So much to learn .The instructors have been to Japan several times to earn there rank and learn more .We train with traditional weapons as well as rope and hand to hand where you get to actual knock your attacker down using natural movement as well as joint locks .I never thought about sword work but it ties right into our regular training very well and these guys are master swords men . I encourage all who want a realistic approach to defense to come train .
