I absolutely LOVE this school‼️ But some of the student aren’t really professional but you can really see the passion, and professionalism in MOST of the students. You can tell the teacher and Director of the school really care for the stylist and clients. The prices are amazing and services is great.

The staff at Empire Beauty are phenomenal. They provide an amazing support system for upcoming cosmetologist. Our student body president Yoshi thee Great (Myoshi Rolle) has also made this experience worth while. She makes sure we stay motivated to come to school by hosting competitions, all while getting her education as well. I’m glad I chose this school.

Empire Beauty School is a great cosmetology school to go to in Greensboro! It’s a wonderful opportunity for anybody wanting to do cosmetology the staff and teachers are great and friendly, it’s like one big happy family !

I had a delightful visit. I have a pretty severe allergy to several types of hair dye, and they were careful, considerate, and very conscientious of my concerns. My stylist was kind, and I will absolutely be returning to her again. I was genuinely very impressed.

I have been coming to Empire for about a year. Since then the prices went up. The Front desk workers need to study and understand what you are telling the customer. As an example that happen to me. They asked me if I wanted a trim,. I said yes, but was not charge.The next time I needed my hair trimmed the front desk said it was $10.00. I was like why am I being charged this amount, The front Desk person said because I had a hair cut. I only had a few inches trimmed. I did not cut my hair shorter ! I was asked do I want my hair trimmed? . So I got upset and told them. Every time I come I pay different prices for the same services. And I wasn’t going to pay the extra $10.00. I asked for the manager She refused to call them. and said don’t worry I will take it off. So last month , I was asked by my stylist if I wanted my hair trimmed. She took a mirror and showed what she was going to trim.But I asked her to call the Manager fist. So I asked the manager what is the policy and price for trimming.She gave me the information and said it was only $1.00 added to the service I had done on my hair. After I was finished. The same girl try to charge me $10.00. Let’s just said she had to leave the front desk. Because I told her I believe she is trying to steal money. I was a customer services manager For 20 years and I hired and fired cashiers all the time and know the tricks they will play to get money. So that same manager had to come and tell then it was only $1.00 and not $10.00. I save all my receipts from day one and can prove that I have being paying different prices for the same services. They all need to be on the same program and to know the correct prices. But I never had a problem with any stylist.

Students are great, you just need to find a passionate stylist to get you right!I gave them 1 stars because the admin are just money hungry and dont truly care about the students as long as you can pay the balance. This attitude may be why the students are so unmotivated or unprofessional as the other reviews put it.

Just happened to walk-in. I have been wanting to start locs again but didn’t want to pay $65-70. They charged me $40 and took me the same day! I love the location. Professional salon environment with courteous service at an affordable price. Thanks!

Everyone is super friendly!

The young lady who helped me was VERY sweet on the other hand for them to be senior students the school is not doing them any favors. The students should be able to perform way better service. My make up looked clownish and the hair style was something I could have did at home and im not a stylist. Not to mention it took close to 3 hrs for hair and makeup I hope they are not taking these ladies money and sending them out to the work force ill prepared.

Terrible, lady at the front desk was rude. Your the first person people see when they walk in. My hair was “trimmed” so uneven and my hair still looked terrible. DON’T GO HERE!! There are better beauty schools that don’t rush or tell people they don’t have “time” for your hair. Leon’s near the greensboro coliseum is amazing.

Always enjoy great service. My daughter and I love to go here for hair service. Great value. Some stylists are more experienced than others, but everyone is always nice.

Its a school, Ive had good experiences n flops on what i wanted done ie perms, highlights But as for straight up hair cuts Ive always been happy. The teacher was always there to teach n help the girl with the style I asked for. I would never get or allow a unsure student to do my brows, there are many stylist out in salons who cant do brow shaping/waxing.I think snobby attitude stricken woman who want the high quality salon pampering, need to go to the salon and pay the salon price then, this is a school.

If you have children they are not welcome here. My friend was turned away, because she had her baby in a car seat with her. She was told there was no room for the car seat in the building. She only went to get her hair washed which wouldn’t have taken no more than 30 mins. When is it okay to turn away a mom because she has to bring her child with her? Moms deserve to get pampered too. I wouldn’t recommend this place for school or services. Just spend the extra few dollars and go to a regular salon. Or find a baby sitter.

My daughter was supppsed to have an appointment with a Gladys at 1:30, but when she got there with my sister, they told her that they don’t braid hair after 1 and that she already had a customer so could not take her today. So why didn’t she beautician tell me this the night before when I text her but asked ME the time? I will never try to get any services from this empire beauty again nor will I recommend anyone try them. This was my first time and it was a bust.

Went with 2 of my friends. I asked for something very simple, eyebrows shape. One of the attendees asked a student how good are you with brows to which she replied not goodSo the attendee called for a different girl. This girl seem nice, but the quality of work she did was not. Too much wax, she ended up with twizers. When she was done the right brow was red and bleeding, the left was all misshapped. My eyelids hurt for two days. The same for my friend.Also the way they present themselves.. I thought they would be better being that it is a beauty school.I dont think Ill be back to that place. Not even for something so simple as getting brows waxed.

Oh my the students dont show up on time, you end up waiting an hour or longer even though you have made an appointment days in advance. No professionalism at all.

Attitude and presentation at this location, is horrible! Inefficient in ways as well..... Front desk is a joke! Customer Service is more like a disservice! the girls act like they dont want to be there nonetheless, service hair. No sense of urgency or extend any courtesies.... Majority of the students arrive late, so if you have an early appointment, you either will be waiting, or the student may not even attend that day. The educators or management should step in and give serious direction because this location needs it. It is a school, so this would be a perfect place to learn.

Today I wanted my hair wash and blow dry which only would take 30 mins today I was turned away because I had my daughter with me. I was told it’s no room for her car seat at the station. I’ve been to this location numerous of times but today I was discriminated. And she also ask do I have someone to watch my child. As a mother and living in a city with no family it’s not fair to turn someone away for brining their child with them. I could’ve gave her the same behavior I received but instead I handle the situation mature and walk out but I WILL NEVER RETURN to the salon again ! Luckily I found a REAL salon that wash my hair and accepted me to bring my child

Hello. I was a recent client of this school, I stopped going here because one of the instructors made me feel so insecure about myself. I called and asked can someone retwist my dreds with out them being shampooed for the second time. (I pre washed my hair before I went). The man on the phone informed me, they can service me and come before 2. I arrived a little before lunch. They student called me back, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She draped me and told me she had to get her instructor. I was then greeted by her instructor! I will never forget their lady’s name. Becky Moffit!!! She proceeds to do my consultation. Then tells me my hair is dirty and they could not service me!! I was appalled. I never felt so disrespected in my life! They then offered me a meeting with the admin. But they way I felt, I dashed out of there to save my self more embarrassment!! I never in my life will refer anyone to this school! The students are awesome but those staff members need to go!!!

My daughter and I went to Empire to have services done by the students. My daughter had a haircut and acrylic nails and I had a haircut and a mani/pedi. We got there about 9:30am on a Friday and got pretty much right in without an appointment. In the future I would definitely make an appointment (no Saturday appts.) as the salon was pretty busy. We both got great cuts, had fantastic shampoos, and our nails look gorgeous! They were very clean, professional, and talented. We have already booked another appointment in two weeks for my daughter to get a fill and for me to get a facial! Also, their prices are very, very reasonable and they have lots of specials and promotions going on.

I had an updo done and not only did it take 30 minutes to be seen when I made an appointment.. But it took over 2 hours just for the updo. The updo was HORRIBLE. I wake up with better hair in the morning! They gave me a cone head and a terrible twist thing to the side. Nothing like I wanted! I understand they are students and learning but the instructor was telling her how great it was! There was honestly nothing great about what she did to my hair!

Great prices. The students try hard to please but they tend to use too much product and I usually have to go home and tweak my style by re ironing my hair.
