Most teachers are excellent. You will make friends from all backgrounds and can participate in wonderful extracurriculars. Students from Western are candidates for major scholarships and go to all of the amazing schools in NC and beyond. There are many AP classes, including AP Seminar and AP Research, which are only offered at Western in all of Guilford County. In these classes students write in depth explorations of focused topics and defend them in front of panels, experiences which prepare us for college and beyond. Not to mention the amazing CTE program at Western, including the logistics lab and nursing fundamentals classes! Seriously, come to Western! I’m so glad I did!

I go to this school, and its not as bad as people make it out to be at all. The academics are actually quite rigorous, disrespect is never allowed, teachers are always there to help you out and tutor at least once a week, there are many opportunities for clubs and such and if you cant find one you like you can make your own! Its honestly a great school, and the students there are all very welcoming as well as the teachers and the principal.

They are being too strict on us. Our school was never this bad for them to enforce and change old rules! I dont even feel like a student any more I feel like a criminal!

Western is a good school, but it is a high school. Of course there will be drugs, fights, and bad teachers, but high school is what you make of it, and if you come to Western with the intention to learn and work hard, then you will see the school that I see. Behind the doors, it may look less than perfect, but the academics allow you to succeed, and the people, no matter how different from you they seem are always welcoming and kind.

THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE, IM A STUDENT THAT GOES HERE, ITS TERRIBLE, TEACHERS ARE NO HELP, BASICALLY THE WHOLE FACULTY OF THE ENTIRE SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE AND SCARED OF DOING ANYTHING. FIGHTS ARE A REGULAR THING AT WESTERN, ALSO DRUGS ARE TOO. AND GUESS THE PRINCIPAL KNOWS ABOUT IT AND WONT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. >=C

I HATE THIS SCHOOL , EVERYONE IS A CRACK BABY . ITS DIRTY . POOR . AND JUST STUPID. AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE JANITORS BE DOING BUT THERES TRASH EVERYWHERE (EVEN THE PEOPLE ARE TRASH) DO NOT AND I REPEAT COME HERE. :)

Very bad school, some teachers dont teach at all and the band and choir department have no money. The football team sucks, and its very dirty.

Western is a very bad school and a lot of students with drugs ..... plus a lot of fake gang members in this school if you ever have to pick you might rather go to another school cause this school is bad bathrooms stink and girls having dirty pads and blood all over the floor and boys bathrooms stink with a strong pee smell , fights are a everyday thing to at western most time they do little to stop it .....The school lunch for kids is so bad so I would rather eat my own lunch and microwaves are very dirty with food left in them !!!!! Yuck yuck yuck
