My husband attended an online program, everything went fine until he finished the program. He got a job before even finishing the program (which didnt help him get the job in the first place). They want to know information about how much he makes and the name and contact information for this job. They have been spaming up his phone and refusing to take no for an answer. It has been extremely unprofessional. They even started calling me and leaving voicemail on my personal phone. Which they only have my phone number because they ask for an emergency contact. You should not be using emergency contact information for any businesss related purposes.

When I signed up I had zero experience in computers. Just wanted to let those of you know that, in case you are wondering if you need experience to join. The answer is no. They will start teaching you from the very basics and move you step by step in a more advanced direction. You will learn a little bit of everything from hardware and software to cyber security and networking and Linux. I have wanted to learn about computers all of my life. Im glad I finally made that step! It is hard work it will not come easy, but nothing worth doing is ever going to just be handed to you! The instructors are extremely helpful! You will learn a lot! Yes, it is worth it!

This is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to obtain IT certifications but fear self-guided only study wont cut it. The instructors are very professional and friendly, and work closely with the students to ensure that their students understand the material. They also offer career services to their students for life; they educate you on the ins and outs of the hiring process and give you tools to maximize your chances of getting hired. They also provide you with a laptop that is included in tuition and capable of optimizing your studies. To sum this all up; this institution really cares about the welfare and success of their students.

My experience over the past 4.5yrs at MyComputerCareer as an Admissions Advisor and former student of the ITSA program has been an overwhelmingly positive one. I have had the opportunity to see the high standards that the instructors, flex instructors and career services department has been held to on a daily basis in regards to helping our students graduate and find jobs in the IT field. I was able to see and observe that first hand as an employee of the school. As I saw the positive career changes my students were experiencing I realized that I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to be a student and participate in the program as well. Upon enrollment, I was told that I would be held to the same standards that every other student would be held too (class attendance and program completion). Those standards were high but the support and encouragment that I received from the support staff and instructors was overwhelming. That support proved to be crucial as I hit my breaking point. I was done and ready to withdraw from the program but Marty, Rehan, Frank, Gerald and Gonzalo had other plans. They reminded me of why I started the program and reminded me that I needed to complete the program. They wouldnt let me quit. They helped me through my rough patches and gave me the support, encouragment, and tutoring to not only complete the program but also earn my certifications along the way. I have recommended MyCC to family and friends and I would definelty recommend it to anyone looking for a career change in a growing field.

I absolutely agree with what another reviewer has said that you get what you put into the program at MyCC. You have to put in the time to study, actively listen during lectures, and communicate with the career services team in order for work to find you. If you want to sit idly and do the bare minimum this school/program is not for you. If you want to make a change in your life/career and youre willing to put in the work to do so, then MyComputer Career will definitely work with you to achieve your IT professional goals. Theres no greater feeling of accomplishment when you get to ring the bell when you pass your certifications and everyone stops what theyre doing and congratulates you on your achievement. What were you doing before coming to school at MyCC?Oh wow, that is a long story as Im no spring chicken. I spent over 20 years in the Navy as a meteorologist. After the Navy I did 3 years as an Aviation Meteorologist/Flight Planner. I really got into computers the last 2+ years where I was a software tester. After my contract ended I was looking for a stable career. How did you hear about MyCC?Of course I heard radio commercials about MyCC but ultimately I decided to change career fields on a whim. I was at a job fair and MyCC had a booth. After getting a demonstration I was hooked. Its like a lightbulb went off.Why were you initially interested in IT?Like I said, I stumbled into computers as a software tester with very little computer experience but that was the gateway into the world of computers/Linux.Why did you choose to go to MyComputerCareer?I am tired of contract jobs that are short-term without benefits. I want a career and MyCC gives me the best opportunity to make that happen. How has going to school positively impacted your family?COVID-19 has certainly impacted everyone but MyCCs Live Online is a Godsend. My family is very proud of me because they know how hard it is to change careers (again) later in life (I am 45).How has going to school positively impacted you?The blueprint that MyCC has is pretty genius. I love the flexibility the program provides and how each class builds and reinforces everything you have learned up into this point. Earning certifications is so gratifying and I owe it all to MyCC.What is next for you?!I want to earn all 8 certifications before it is all said and done but, being about halfway through the program, I am looking at getting my resume together with the assistance of MyCCs career services department and find my dream job. I am so excited for what the future holds. Thank you MyCC!!

You get what you put into it. Take it seriously, put in the time, and reap the rewards. If you get behind you can be easily left behind. There are plenty of catch up mechanisms in place from weekend boot camps to after hours cram sessions. Success or failure is all up to you, stick with it and you will succeed, play around and you will fail. The instructors are awesome, some more then others, but you have to earn the certs, and you will have to commit the time to learn the material.I earned 7/10 certs here, I was working at minimum wage at about 14-15k a year for about 10 years doing hotel front desk work. Im now been working at my new career for about 6 months now making upwards of 40k a year and got this new position 2 months before graduation(8-9 months in). Ill make back the tuition and more in my first year. It is a serious investment, and requires a very serious commitment. Dont take it lightly. It does work.

I can assure you that just that service alone can cost hundreds of dollars.I must warn you though, dont expect to attend and just sit around expecting it to sink in and somehow pass... youve got to do the work, pay attention and most of all, Youve Got to Want it.The instructors definitely strive to make sure you get the information but as mentioned, it has to be a desire. In the long run, Is it worth the money? Also other instructors whose class I wasn’t in helped me during flex time with studying to include Gonzalo, Gerald, and Joanna (sorry if I misspelled any names). Career services Vanessa and Tammy helped me acquire my first IT job but unfortunately due to Covid-19 I was laid off. I am very grateful to the school because after I was laid off the school gave me work helping to set up the new Sugarland campus. It’s been an awesome experience because I’ve gotten real life hands on experience doing actual IT work. The only downside I can say came as a result of Covid-19 and forcing me to finish the last few classes online versus in class. That’s because I learn better in either a classroom or OTJ situation but everyone’s hands were tied and so we had to overcome it. Other than that I have nothing but good things to say about MYCC.

The best part of MyCC are the resources. They teach you in classes, give you study materials, and have boot camps on weekends. Plus you can ask teachers or other students who have gotten certs for help. The only thing I would change, is that sometimes having to focus on homework takes away from study time for the test. Whew! Buckle up for this one folks... This review is based on my experience during the admissions process, not a specific campus, class, or professor. I didnt make it that far.I filled out the survey on their website and immediately received a call to get to know me. ok, fine. I asked how much their program costs, and was read to from the same script like 3 times, not even joking, the lady repeated word for word the same sentence 3 times. (Red Flag #1. No one cares if theyre trained in Financial Aid or not, theyre the first representation of the school students are met with. Unacceptable. Its 22k btw) I was then given THREE different times, including 11 PM, that I was to attend their virtual tour, if you will. (Red flag #2- youre an IT school for sakes and no one is on the same page already.) After getting the actual correct time I watched their presentation. That was fine, except that they like to show the median incomes from the BLS, which is cool, but just know that not every job lands in that median. You could land a job for 35k/year and at that point, theyve fulfilled their commitment. And as for any rebuttal, they make NO salary commitments, meaning, they dont promise anything.Their job placement is only 80% last I checked and people DO fall into that 20%- including people like you!Second part was Financial Aid. If you dont qualify for the entire 22k through federal loans, they have you apply for a loan through Paramount. Throughout my conversations with my admissions adviser, a woman named Courtney, told me throughout that with the paramount loan my payments would only be $89 while Im in school, and only slightly higher after that, AND that it was only a 5 year loan. If your saying that math doesnt add up- youd be right. Well turns out its a 10 year loan at 10% (errr 9.99% as I was rudely corrected by my adviser).(Red Flag #3- Get your #@$* together- apparently NO ONES trained in financial aid) After I asked why I was lied to about this loan, I was quick to be cut off and corrected that she said the payments STARTED at $89. To that, I say yall record these conversations and phone calls, prove it. But you cant. And you wont. After this huge headache, I told my adviser that Im going to just save myself about 20 thou and go the self study route. But was that it? NO! After hanging up on my adviser because I had told her I was no longer interested in pursuing their program I started getting texts from them, one at 7:30 AM (not joking- again, unacceptable.) I replied and told her that I didnt appreciate receiving solicitations at 7:30 and was told by far the professional message sent to you this morning was not a solicitation... WELL WHAT DO YOU CALL IT THEN?Jesus stay away from this school.Update: please read Jenny’s response, she does a good job of proving every point I make about why you should avoid this school. Your program cost 22k, which not even you can just come out and say. Even something like “our program costs 22k before any grants and scholarships.” you also couldn’t prove that my advisor said any different than I claim. How can a “IT” school be this out of touch is beyond me it’s embarrassing . Also, my name isn’t Leif, it’s Matt, so who even knows what you’re talking about. All the time you wasted wasn’t even on the right person. Re-do your work and you’ll see why my review is negative.

DittoI love this school! It feels so much like family than a student/teacher environment. Everyone from our director to our flex instructors to our front desk admins is so helpful and wants to see you succeed. Marty, Sheena, Jerold, AJ, Tammy, Tammie, and everyone else all go the extra distance to make sure that you not only succeed at this school, but to excel in life. I have never been to a school that was this involved or cared so much about students futures.

MyCC throws a ton of information at you in a short period of time, so you really have to invest yourself fully into the program. If you fall behind its really tough to catch back up.. The best thing about the North Houston campus is the instructor David Perry, Hes got a quirky nerdy personality and is passionate about what he does. He genuinely wants to teach people and covers a lot of useful information thats not necessarily found on the tests that will help you out on the job if you pay attention!

Attending My Computer Career has increased my knowledge exponentially. My instructor Marty Mulsow created a very straightforward lab that explained the subject matter very well. I feel that I took a lot away from this activity and look forward to participating in more of these!

I am currently in the first class. Not just saying that because I am proud to say i am going to school. No, i am literally sitting in the class right now as i am typing this. I have to say, i really did think this school was a sham at first. After reading some reviews (of course the negative ones first) i figured i would come to the orientation and see what it was about. From the day of my orientation to now I have to say i am very impressed. As someone who had no IT experience other than hacking a few phone games and rooting a few phones, i have learned a tremendous amount in these first few weeks. The first instructor, Dwaine for the the A+ 901 and 902 course is goofy. But he is a good guy, and makes learning this amount of information very easy and understandable.Overall i give this school an A. i cant give it an A+ because come on now, nothing in life is perfect. But this school so far is about as close to perfect as a school could hope to get. Good teachers, cool students, nice environment. What more could you ask for?

For over a year I have been planning to write an IT certification but never got to do it because of lack of motivation until I started attending my computer career . In three months I have passed 4 certifications I would not have been able to achieve this without the motivation and support I received from the staff at my computer career. 4 down 4 to go .
