I would like for Sean Brennon or his superior to contact me . I have left messages , sent emails and not Avril. Has been taken!! I think the training and treatment your employees demonstrate are very poor. There is no compassion, ethical training or repercussion for rude staff at the facility. The staff handling the children are great but upper management needs to be addressed on how to deal with their parents approximately. This has been a horrible experience for me and I wouldn’t wish any other parent has to go through the same thing.

It was prior to Covid. It was clean and smelled of chlorine from the pool. The people working there were nice as were the patrons.

This place has the worst staff including Terry Eley!! You cant run a child’s program and not have empathy and understanding. I will be reaching out to Steven Ives & Kelvin Washington regarding the issues with this facility. One of the CEO’s need to address their staff and policies & procedures plus give the staff proper training . This is a non profit organization that’s been around for years and certain staff damage the brand .

I have major concerns about there policy and procedures during this covid pandemic . How could you put others at risk and force to come in for Registration? There are people who have love ones that are high risk!!! The staff was very rude and unaccommodating . I will be reaching out to corporate ans sending Kevin Washington the CEO an email.

This is the closest YMCA to where I live, so its my regular gym by default. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles youll find at other, larger YMCA locations in the city. But thats balanced by the relatively small attendance in the workout area. You wont often have to wait to get on equipment or a bar. A core group of regulars gives the place a close-knit feel. Staff is friendly and relaxed.Lots of group classes are offered, if youre looking for those. Families with kids will find plenty of camp and league options. The weight area is very basic and somewhat limited. The staff could do a better job making sure people re-rack weights and leave areas clean when done. Other than that, I enjoy going here.

I like the idea of belonging to this club along with my family. Unfortunately we did not stay members long. The biggest thing for me was the child care. I have two little ones - the oldest felt bored in the childrens room and pouted every time I said we were going to the Y. The baby would have crying fits and I would need to come check him. Which was funny because he never throws fits like that at home or at day care. I seriously think they just strapped him into a swing and expected him to stay there for an hour. The daytime childrens staff did a great job with him though. Also, there are some very friendly staff but there are one or two folks that act like theyre doing you a favor by being there. It really struck me when no one even asked why we were cancelling. They just stared and whispered while I did it.Overall, the atmosphere was lacking. Love the idea but it just wasnt for us.P.S. The group fitness instructors are great!

The YMCA at this location is a terrible place to work out and a waste of time and money and when they took money out of my account 2 days later I went to go refund for the last payment and they said that it would take the 30 days of my 1st membership to get a refund for my last payment. Which is on believably dumb, Learn for me if you want to lose weight just by insanity if you want to swim go to LA Fitness theyre better.

My mother who originally had issues with her Yoga class came to absolutely LOVE this place. Her workout partners were friendly and supportive and the staff was great. What a great turnaround for a place that didnt get off to a great start.

They may be exceptional in their programs but their hiring process was extremely unorganized and less than professional. I ran around the city for traininig, urinalysis, paperwork and giving over my bank account info to being ghosted. I found out 3 months later I was terminated, nothing in writing and to this day I was only told because I could not transport and apply medication. I only applied for a $36/day part time afterschool counselor while I finish school...what high standards they have. I am an USAF vet, I have a degree and several certs, and also a security clearance but could not meet their requirements. Need better communication lines and to put important notices in writing...just like they asked of me.

Very kind staff. The place doesnt get too crowded if you come before 6:30pmAlthough there arent too many workout machines, the lack of people allows you to really treat the place like your own gym. It also comes with a pool, basketball court and soccer field.

If you are looking for a small work out place, Alief YMCA is the place. It has just enough equipment for your workout. The place is clean and the staff was very nice. I work out about 3 to 4 days a week. Quiet place.

This place is the worst of all, I don’t know why they call it family YMCA if they won’t even allow the school bus to drop off students at this location. Even though the parking lot is empty they will not allow students to be drop. I would not go to this place. And worst place for membership.

Unorganized!! I tried them out for basketball and I was not impressed. I signed my son up for their swim lessons and I feel like it was a waste of money or maybe my expectations were to high. Any ways , I guess my son instructor took off the last couple days so we were not able to get any feedback on his over all progression . Everyone one else instructor is giving feedback and handing out completion/progress certificates. What do we get??? Nothing!! When I ask the front desk and the other lifeguards about it, no one knows anything. I would think with the YMCA being such a big organization they will be proactive, prepared and organized.

What is the reason for a camp in such a small facility, them damn kids take up the basketball court all day for no reason and do nothing. And when the court is finally open they come back in like 10 minutes. Get a actual summer camp and not in a gym

This YMCA has been a blessing to me. Ive been homeless for quite some time. Im a person just as anyone with feelings , needs, wants. They always treat me with kindness , understanding. We all go thru hard times, and Im still walking thru it.. And alief YMCA has helped me. They probably dont realize it, but for me its a big deal. They treat me the same as anyone. To anyone that reads this, dont frown or look down on homeless. They are most likely good people struggling as we all do. Brotherly, sisterly love is greater than hate and fear. God bless this YMCA and you.

Referees for basketball games there are not that good at there job. They dont call fouls, yell at the coaches, and threaten the kids! One time the game was close and a kid got clobbered and no foul was call. The coach began asking for an explination and the ref said to shut up or go home before telling the kids to mind their own business when asking what was happening. If you want to sign your kids up for basketball go to the fort bend ymca.

The equipment is often broken . In the group exercise class for older adults you are crammed in the gym. The instructor does not have a microphone , so you can not hear her and she is not on a raised platform so you cannot see the moves. They do not return calls. Very few classes.
