We have loved our experience at Longfellow Elementary. All of our teachers have been caring and enthusiastic about teaching. The principal and administration are involved and supportive and truly put the students best interests first. The students here are impressive--come by for a visit and see for yourself. The Leader in Me Program has transformed the school and the magnet program is very impressive. A true gem in the neighborhood!

As a first grade teacher here, I welcome you and your kids! I love The Leader In Me that our school has adopted. The kids are growing quickly into the wonderful leaders they are destined to be. This is my son 2nd year to attend Longfellow and we absolutely love it. My son is a great student so maybe thats why we havent had any problems. Education wise, my son is learning more above his grade level in my opinion. Great school, students,teachers,after school activities.

My daughter has attended Longfellow for 2 years now and the teachers have been great. However, the front desk clerk has absolutely no people skills and it is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. The school is represented by the people who work there so the front desk clerk makes the school look bad. She is rude has a bad attitude and absolutely hates her job. I had a bad experience with her just for asking a simple question.

This school is so unprofessional I got into with the guy name Mr. Gonzalez the first day of school Gonzalez. called and made a complaint on him and I was scheduled to meet the principal Ms. Quinn and I still havent got chance to talk to her about it face-to-face I can never get her on the phone shes always busy, I left multiple message for her to contact me back and I havent got a call from her yet so parents be prepared when you take your children to this school and you need to speak to someone or try to make a complaint on the staff just know that theyre never going to contact you back and yes people there are racist😒

I don’t recommend this school due to the kids there. There are plenty of fights and bullying going on. The school doesn’t do anything about it. The only thing they’ll do is suspend the student for a day and they’ll come back doing the same thing again. I give this a one star. 🙄

This school was a VERY excellent school to attend.Though I am now in 8th grade,I still remember fun times here.I attended here for grades 2nd-5th.I made a lot of friends,and I really liked the magnet choices.I went with art.My art teacher Mr.Berry was the best.He was fun,loving,understanding,and was a very great artists.He is the reason that I got accepted into the High School of Performing Arts. Ive created lots of great artwork since my time with him.The teaching is great and very interactive and hands-on.I feel very honored to say that I went to this school.The most memorable teachers for me are: Ms.Campbell and Mr.Berry.Now I attend a school named, Harmony School of Ingenuity grades 8-12.My brother went to Longfellow as well,but is now in 6th grade at Pershing Middle School.Thank-You Longfellow for preparing me for the future!!

Horrific! Stay away. We went for a magnet tour and most likely encountered the worst front desk clerk ever. If they cant get it right at the first stop, theres no need to go any further.

Overall Longfellow Elementary is a mediocre school. The teaching of the 7 habits is an awesome idea, but unfortunately. My daughter attended from Kindergarten thru 2nd grade and her first two years were awesome. Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Thomas are excellent educators and exercise a great deal of professionalism. Unfortunately, the 2nd grade team with the exception of Mrs. Jefferson and Mrs.Hoegger is extremely catty and tend to participate in the childish drama of the 2nd grade kids and they utilize humiliation as a their form of creating structure within their classrooms. The teachers openly discuss children in the hallways and classrooms in front of other children, faculty, parents,etc. Which is truly unprofessional and appalling behavior for adults. The PTO is awesome at the school, but it is known that the faculty do not respect the principal and seem to feel as if she is not an effective leader. She tends to allow things that should not be, which makes it unfortunate for the faculty and staff. Front office team is awesome, including the counselors but I think that what was once a great school would be better under proper leadership. The low morale of the faculty and staff is noticeable to the parents and students. Weeding the bad apples, would make Longfellow elementary an excellent school, if your child is fortunate enough not to encounter any issues and to have a professional, caring, teacher than your experience at Longfellow would be great.
