I have been at this school for 2 months and a half and it has been the greatest experience since my first school closed both Masters are great at what they do. Am glad I joined this Taekwondo school.

A former student of Master Rick here: This man is a scam artist. He lied and borrowed more than $5,000 from me while I was a student and apparently gambled it all away in Vegas. And he had the nerve to try to borrow again using my credit card that was on file to go back to Vegas! Also the relationship between Rick and his wife/partner Mindy was odd and their drama was creating a very unprofessional environment for the students. I left the school because he never paid me back and he lost all his credibility as a master. Its been a couple of years since I left and I hope I get my money back soon enough. If you are taking your kids to the school currently, Id be careful of getting too personal with Rick.

Awesome Teacher and great classes!!! Love it.My husband and I joined Master Rick’s Talium about a month ago and we absolutely love it. In this short period I have seen positive changes in my overall health and I am really grateful. Now it has become a part of our routine. Master Rick’s classes are so much fun. He motivates every student to become better and stronger in every class. Sometimes, instructors from other Talium schools come to the Houston Talium to teach and demonstrate – the demonstrations are surely remarkable and inspirational.The adults class is at 7 PM every day. When we arrive at the class, sometimes if the previous class is still going on, you get to see kids (all ages) learning Taekwondo – being energetic and focused and having fun. Master Rick is really good with kids. His classes are not just about kicking and punching, but education of the mind as well. He also teaches the kids to be more disciplined and respectful to everybody. I am sure all the parents of those kids are really glad to have found a teacher like Master Rick.I would highly recommend anybody (no age bar) who wants to learn Taekwondo to join Master Rick’s Talium. It is never too late to become a student of Taekwondo.

I currently study Taekwondo under Master Rick. I have been attending class since Feb. and already notice a huge difference in my weight loss, stamina, flexibility, and agility. Master Rick helps you reach your full potential and gives you an extra push when needed. I enjoy the family friendly environment that is fostered within the school. I’ve been training with master rick for 4 1/2 years. in that time i’ve become a better version of myself. master rick not only teaches self defense, he teaches discipline, respect, and kindness. from no-belt all the way to first degree black belt, master rick and his team have made sure that every student feels confident in the material that they’re learning and that they’re able to preform it well. the school provides great classes and workouts for kids, teens, and adults. master rick is just overall a great teacher and I’m glad a got the chance to learn from him.

Master Rick Lee is an excellent instructor and master of Taekwondo. I enrolled my daughters in his school last year, and I couldnt be more happy with the training and education they have received so far. He is excellent with his students, especially with the younger ones. He has a great deal of patience and a natural ability to make them feel comfortable and excited to learn the art of Taekwondo. I highly recommend his school to all.

My daughter has been with Master Rick for 1 month, and shes now a big fan of both Taekwondo and Master Rick. She is a gifted and straight A student at school but very strong-minded kid, always has her excuse and her own way of doing anything and has brought a lot of headache to me on how to discipline her. At the first trial class she even refused to enter the classroom, but only looked from outside. Amazingly Master Rick has the experience to deal with this kind of kids, and the class was full of fun and challenge that she did try next class. From then on I can see her confidence and spirit of try best grow each class, by Master Ricks encouragement, compassion, enthusiastic instruction, care and humor. I feel so blessed to find a Master like him, and believe that the school will be a even greater success in short time.If you have a kid like mine, go for Master Rick, you will be amazed like me.

We moved from the UK to Houston and wanted to find a school that would match our daughters previous Taekwondo School. We visited two other schools before we found Master Ricks Talium and we are so happy that we persevered and found a school that far exceeded our high expectations.It is very difficult to describe the passion and commitment that Master Rick and Miss Mindy show to Talium students and is best experienced. From a parenting point of view Master Rick has a holistic approach to students and they are taught respect and commitment that transfers into their school work and home life. My daughter has shown a dramatic improvement in her Taekwondo and is always excited to go to class, if you asked her 5 stars are not enough!

Master Ricky teaches kids exactly what you’d want them to be taught in life. Respect, discipline and the benefits of hard work. His ‘life talks’ with the kids, the fact he immediately knows each and every one of them by name, his shoes off policy for parents and students, his friendly staff and the instructors create a family space of safety and control often hard to find in this day and age. Or better still go and watch for yourself and don’t let any positive or negative reviews make your mind up for you.

Ive been with master rick now for around 3 1/2 years now. He has gotten me into a world of martial arts that i never seen like before. Master rick had trained since no belt up to 1st degree black belt. Now i am one of the assistants, with being glad that he chose me to become one. Master rick is an awesome not only master but a great person to.

Personally I’ve tried many different martial arts. I can say without a doubt that Master Rick has been the best master I’ve ever had. He is tough but fair. I’ve seen myself improve on many things since I became a student at Talium. I also know that it wouldn’t have been possible without Master Rick’s help and guidance that has guided me to become better than I was. I look forward to seeing how much I improve for the future, and I couldn’t think of any better place to improve than at Talium and no one better to help me achieve it than Master Rick.

During my past four months of taekwondo with master Rick, I have changed a lot. He taught me confidence and focus, and I have improved very much in strength and flexibility. Master Rick is amazing. I have three kids taking classes at Talium. They are different in every way yet he knows how to reach out to each individually. They are stronger and more confident with every class. We are blessed to find such a wonder school and Master!

Our five year old son has been attending Master Ricks classes for just over a month now. I cannot say enough positive things about it! Master Rick has an amazing gift for working with children. Our son smiles the entire time he is there and I find myself doing the same. I am amazed at the progress my son has made in such a short time. My only regret is that we didnt start sooner!

I recently started the Cardio Kickboxing classes with Master Rick. I am amazed at how energetic he is until the very end. Along with his wife who does the class with us.I especially like that each class is very different allowing us to target different parts of the body. This keeps it from becoming boring and repetitive.I would HIGHLY recommend this class to anyone who is looking to get in shape or even tone up.

We have been a part of the school for just a little over a month. We started attending after seeing the behavior change in my sisters kids. I decided that my son who is 4 going on 10 need a little of discipline and started to taking him and my daughter age 8. WOW ! What a difference not only with a complete attitude change but also improved on listening skills and focusing at school with in a month. Its sad to say but if I need anything done from my kids or if they are not listening all I have to say is Do you want me to tell Master Rick? They jump with the quickness and do what Im asking them to do.I would defiantly recommend the school to anyone. It is a very good school and you would see a drastic change in the behavior in your child.

Hes great with the kids, but why is the he insisting that students continue to pay for classes while the school has been closed (for three months and counting) due to fire damage. To put it nicely, something doesnt seem right about Master Rick.

Not sure if those reviews are incentivized by the school; write a review and get one month free type thing or from parents that have never been to other schools , but something doesnt add up. From a parent of a decorated high built rank kid with medals and achievements locally, regionally, and nationally, I was shocked to see the low standard and poor environment at this school. If this is what yall think is good then you havent seen a decent martial art school.If youre looking for someone to teach your kids the tenets of TaeKwonDo, and not just kicks and punches, this isnt the school for you. The master here crushed those tenets in no time. RESPECT isnt in his dictionary, unless hes on the receiving end of that. He spent more than half his time with us attacking, criticizing, and trashing the prior school we came from even though he said he doesnt know it nor does he know the master there. Talk about INTEGRITY!! Just because its not him that earns him the right to speak poorly of them and make them to be a terrible school. Super arrogant and disrespectful.You can brag all you want about yourself and your accomplishments, but you cant criticize others with absolutely no knowledge of them.To try and appear superior, he asked my son to demonstrate some kicks and quickly went on to mock and criticize him. If you know anything about any sport you would never ask someone to demonstrate anything while wearing jeans and without warming up, specially with high kicks that will stretch his muscles and could easily pull one off. Gladly my son was taught by a great master before so he wasnt phased by the ignorant criticism nor he was intimidated. He kept his cool and continued to behave respectfully like he was taught. In fact I was so proud to see my 9 year old demonstrate the tenets of TaeKwonDo at a much higher level than his master; respects, self control, courtesy, integrity!!!!After every lecture about how dumb other schools are for doing certain things a certain way, he went on to explain his way which was almost identical, sometimes worse, than that of others. I also felt proud to see my son pointing out all the violations of TaeKwonDo tents this master committed within the 15 minutes he spent with us. Credit goes to his prior school and master for deeply rooting those standards in our kids. Next day we came for my son to participate in a regular class, needless to say, were never coming back. It turns out those people know nothing about warming up, just bring those dogs out and let them go at it!! Let alone the overly crowded floor and high instructor to student ratio. Pay for water... and many more things her we never seen nor thought exist in this day and time.The visit made me admire my sons prior school that much more and feel bad for the kids in this school... yall should know your options and do whats best for your kids.

I started the Kardio Kickboxing class last week. I think its the perfect class to whip me back into shape as well as tone my body. Master Rick is not only friendly and kind but hes a great instructor who pushes you to your limits and challenges you. I cant wait to see the results from this class, and I know Ill see them soon!

I have been training at Talium for over a year, and I absolutely love it there. I have truly learned the real value of Martial Arts. Master Rick Lee is easily one of the best Tae Kwan Do instructors Ive ever seen. My son has been going here for over a year and Ive seen him grow with the fantastic instruction and positive expectations. You will not regret sending your kids here. Master Ricks Talium is the best taekwondo place Ive ever gone to, and Im sure youll feel the same way. Master Rick Lee is an awesome guy with a good sense of humor and the right amount of rigidity. The dojang (and its inhabitants) feels like a second home and family to me. Ive met lots of good people here, and I can feel the Masters qualities rubbing off on me; you can literally see the charisma oozing out of me! (Just kidding, not quite there yet!)

There are no words to describe how good Master Rick is. My son absolutely adores him and he really enjoys practicing tae kwon do. My little boy has grown up and matured so much in the last 10 months and I know a lot of it has to do because of Master Rick.As soon as you walk in, you get the sense of a belonging to a family, its not just a school. Master Rick respects and instills confidence in each one of his students. He takes the time to connect and truly get to know each one of them. He makes all of his classes fun while still teaching important values like respect, honesty, compassion, dedication, commitment, courtesy and integrity - he teaches his students to be better people and to reach their full potential. As a parent you cant ask for a better teacher / mentor for your kid.

Its my third week at the school and I really like it here. I go to the adult/teenager class at 7 pm.Everyone in my class is very friendly, the Master is kind and has a very exciting attitude.The structure of the class is generally warm up,stretch, Do some drills and then do some Taekwondo Curriculum from one step sparring, kicks and forms.Though I really enjoy it here giving 5 stars would be like saying there is nothing to improve and that the school is at its very best which I hope is not the case because Im more than sure the school will only grow and become better.Some things I wish to see more of is an environment where everyone is trying their hardest and push each other to improve at all times. While the environment is friendly it might be a little too friendly.I notice that our drills are very repetitious which is not bad but alot of the drills are not differentiated between belt colors and skills of the individual. This is not bad but I would like to see a mix of everyone doing the same drill and some of the drills differentiated between belt colors and skills.The School itself is in excellent shape and I would recommend this school to anyone who is interested in Taekwondo and I cant wait to continue learning from him.

Our son looks forward to going to class. Master Rick is very good at keeping the kids engaged. Remember to wear matching socks, as wearing shoes inside is frowned upon.

Im going on my 4th week with Cardio Kickboxing and boy is it working! Ive lost 25 pounds and 3 inches off my waist. Not only is Master Rick a wonderful instructor, he is very thorough and ensures you are getting the best quality workout. If you really want to see results, then enroll asap! You are going to have a great time!

I took a group of kids here for summer camp and it was great. I was really impressed with how he was with the kids from the moment they walked in. The kids keep asking me when they can go back! They are considered at-risk kids and they really learned a lot in the one session; not just about taekwondo but about life skills as well.

When i first started last year, i had few doubts because of my age. i was saying to myself, there is no way i could do all these moves or forms. but a year later, i am so proud of my improvement that i feel so bad whenever i cant make it to training. Mater Rick is so passionate about what he does that he literally transfers this passion over to his students. i feel more confident because of i what i have learned in Master Ricks self-defense training, and happy because every training day is a day to learn new cool stuff. i would highly recommend Master Rick s Talium Taekwondo to anybody who would like to learn how to defend oneself, get phisically fit, protect family and love ones while having fun.

Im on my third week of Cadio Kickboxing with Master Rick and so far it has been amazing!!! I am already seeing results.From Cardio to toning, He makes you work every part of your body! I would really recommend this class to anyone who is willing to try something different with great results!!!

I am sad to say that I recently quit Master Rick Lees Talium Taekwondo of Houston after about 3 years due to my busy schedule, but this place will still be one of the best experiences I have had in my life and I miss all of the people at this place so much. Master Rick is such an inspirational and insightful person, knowing every student, by heart and their perspective. The teens and adults in my class were truly amazing people, and I loved being able to have them in my life. During class we all supported each other and pushed each other to the fullest of our limits, telling others and ourselves to do the best we can everyday. Before I had joined taekwondo, I was a very self preserved person, only caring about myself, my life, my academic standards, and everything about me. After joining Master Ricks taekwondo, my body strength and control increased greatly, my perspective of the world changed so much, and I had turned into a completely different person. I became very mentally and physically stronger since Master Rick pushed us so much during class and lectured his students countless times about working hard and just life in general, and being able to enjoy every moment. Im very thankful that I was able to learn so much, I cannot even put my experience here into words.

Master Rick has a way with kids that cant be beat. He knows when to push them, encourages with kindness, and makes them want to be their best. Its like a second family at his studio.

When I was a teenager I took Kung Fu. I never thought much of TaeKwonDo and had full intentions of signing my twin boys up for Kung Fu. Wed visited a couple of Kung Fu studios and I wasnt feeling inspired. I felt the boys needed more. And it wasnt the curriculum, it was the instructors and environment. Well, one of the boys school friends had his birthday party at Master Ricks Talium TaeKwonDo. Thats when we first met Master Rick. We were immediately taken with how well he engaged the kids. The kids were all having so much fun and one of our boys, who (at least at the time) wasnt quite as confident in himself, just lit up when he got to break a board. He could do that!! Wow! That was in January. Were now in June and they are Orange belts and look forward to each and every class...and we practice every chance we get, too. They have grown so much more than we had dared to hope for from this experience. We have also seen so much more of who Master Rick is in that time, too. Hes a very inspiring, passionate, compassionate and easy-going person. Hes a true role model for kids and adults alike and he pours everything that he is and all his passion into what he does...a true leader. The kids want to learn more and work hard. I have seen other kids join that have made remarkable transformations in a short period of time. Master Rick knows how to inspire them and push them in just the right ways. He has also inspired my wife and I. We joined at the beginning of May. Now, I have to remember that Im not a teenager anymore.. heh. I hurt in places I never knew I could hurt. But I couldnt be happier with my choice to join and learn, too. Its a journey I never thought I would want to take. And the only reason Im doing it is because I can think of nobody other than Master Rick to lead me on that journey. Thank you Master Rick for inspiring our boys and us. You are a great inspiration to every life you touch. And especially ours.

Master Rick has an amazing ability to focus on each childs unique learning styles and needs. My daughter Cami started tae kwon do under Master Rick at 3 1/2 yrs old. She absolutely adores Master Rick!!! Master Rick is a great mentor and role model to Cami and to all of his fellow students. Cami has gained discipline and confidence in addition to her tae kwon do knowledge. She is enrolled in the Black Belt program and should earn her black belt in the next few years. Master Rick is very dedicated and absolutely wonderful w/ kids and students of all ages. He has that carismatic magnetism which attracts current and propspective students. I am both a student of Master Ricks Tae Kwon Do and Cardio Kickboxing classes, and I must say I am very honored to be in his classes! Master Rick is an AMAZING instructor. He is a very silly yet serious person, whose intentions are to help everyone that seeks his help.His Tae Kwon Do classes are fun no matter what age you may be.
