My daughter LOVES coming here and I LOVE the work she is bringing home. The teachers are well trained and nurturing. The admins are accessible, friendly and helpful. I cannot be happier.Kids play area is HUGE with ample shade and fake grass for safety and ease. Saves me a ton of dirt, mud and grass stains. Lol.The grounds are clean and safe, with coded gates and doors. Parking is just enough for parents and staff.

Terrible experience for us. My kid (Kindergarten) got bullied daily by older classmates (they keep kids of different ages in same class due to method) and the teachers wouldnt do much about it.We inquired and brought up this issue to the principal, but still happened. My kid was miserable and he would complain to teachers, but the response was always to let them problem solve. Its was hard to problem solve for my kid since older kids would gang up on him. He would try to defend himself (unsuccessfully), but he would get in trouble for fighting back.We hesitated to discuss with parents of other kids or to remove our kid before end of term because of the principals and teachers feedback minimizing the situation. We lost that whole year.Very disappointing experience with the teachers and the principal.

We are beyond words to describe what this school has done for us as parents and our twin boys. Our boys started in Montessori at 4 months at another school and we joined this school around 2yo and they are now almost 7 and they are headed into 1st grade. You feel apart of a community and the administration is very open and listens, seeks feedback from parents in new programs, and we appreciate them so much more than I think they know ;) . We have seen how the boys are enriched in both academic and cultural aspects and feel a sense of responsibility towards their class and their community .Montessori concepts emphasize a long spectrum of that begins with mastery in tangential and tactile aspects of math and language which bridge children into pulling on that foundation to understand the abstract concepts of such. Weve felt so grateful to see this first hand. They start early with math and language concepts in a way where the child learns through touch with bead counting, tactile letter and word patterns, practical life lessons such as table washing, pouring, and respecting their community. The boys are almost into 2nd grade math in traditional school and are just going in to 1st grade. They love to read because the schools approach to reading creates interest where they want to learn more and strive to master letters and language.Theyve also helped us realize as parents, where we need to improve with their Love and Logic courses. This has opened our eyes in so many ways on how to re-approach things and how we parent the boys.We have been fortunate to start them at a young age and now they are moving into elementary, weve seen that the schools classical Montessori approach has made an imprint on them that will stay with them forever. Montessori(which is an Italian-based curriculum created by Maria Montessori and is very different from traditional methods and emphasizes experiential learning) is different and I recommend reading about it before evaluating the school so you understand it from the classroom design, curriculum, and how the child will be introduced to concepts.I would say before visiting the school, read about what Montessori curriculum is about, seek an understanding about the principles of how the spectrum works. As you can see -- I cant say enough about how happy we are with Sherwood-- we love this school !!!

This school is incredible at developing little humans!Until I found this school, I thought every program for kids under 5 was daycare or glorified daycare (where the kids dress like little adults and maybe learn how to count to 10).My first daughter started going to Sherwood at the age of 3 and I have been blown away by her growth. The environment they have created at Sherwood inspires curiosity, engagement, and learning. The curriculum allows every child to progress at a speed that is just right for them in every discipline, building on their strengths and supporting their weaknesses. If thats not enough, the day-to-day skills they practice in class carry over to the home, she is organized, independent, helpful, and attentive (for a 4 year old). She just finished her first year and there is no doubt in my mind that she is staying. She also has a little sister now that will be joining in 1-2 years.
