If you are planning on to study medical billing and coding, DO NOT do it there. Instructors are unqualified (they have no knowledge about good coding and billing), you will learn nothing there and at the end of the day, you will waste your precious time and money. I learnt the hard lesson and regret it deeply. I am writing this so what happened to me does not happen to you. Theres community college or some awesome online programs you could do without wasting your precious time and money. Id not give even a star if thats possible

The professors here are very unorganized, even they try their best to teach you the team here is not too qualified. The school isnt even accredited when you try to transfer to another school/universities, so the credits dont even transfer. Once they get you in the school its a setup. I was in the ST programs and there was always a shortage of supplies, mask,s gowns, gloves. I wouldnt recommend this school.

I had the best instructor ever. MS. LEVY, is a great teacher, she’s patient, loving and accommodates everyone’s learning style. She works in the field which makes it better for us to know what actually goes on in the hospital for the sterile processing field. Thanks to her, I know everything I need to know. ❤️

Awesome experience here at fortis! Started the program unsure of what I was getting myself into and once Ms.Guttierez and Ms.P became instructors here at this school they inspired me and taught me so much!! Now I’m happy to say that if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be finishing my sterile processing program!

I enrolled here at Fortis College in March of this year and Im two weeks from going to extern. Its been a fairly decent experience throughout my process of school and would highly recommend enrolling here at Fortis. Make sure you ask questions so that you know exactly what youre doing before enrolling because its good to know what youre walking into. Most of the instructors are very informative and will help you as long as you ask. Most of the staff is helpful as well.

This location is very professional and they are really good at helping you get on track with anything that you need help with. I just completed my sterile processing program with honors and the experience was fun!

I can only comment on the Surgical Technology Program. Since the new instructor and director started and revamped the program there has been a huge change in the program itself. I am happy to say that I am pleased with what I have earned and that I have also been successful at my clinical site. I know finding a job as a new graduate in any field is difficult, I have confidence in the skills I have learned in this program.

I enjoyed my experience at Fortis College. By far the best medical assistant program, the instructors here are very knowledgeable, willing to help. I recommend Fortis College for anyone willing to further their career.

This was probably my favorite experience at a school that ive had in a while. Ive tried other medical schools and left but with the help of a collection of teachers and administration such as Ms. Edwards, Mrs. Whitehead, Mrs. Sherman and Ms. Holden, this time was much different.Now I have a chance to better myself and provide for my children.

I have attended this college twice. Once for medical billing and coding and am now a current student for surgical technology. I start my externship on Monday which Im looking forward to getting out of the classroom and into my field of choice. My experience here has had some highs and a lot of lows. overall I would say Im happy to be finishing my experience here.

As a student here at Fortis I had an amazing learning experience thanks to a instructor named Mrs. Levy. I feel very confident in what I learned here and I know I am going to be able to apply my knowledge on my externship. Mrs. Levy did a very well job in accommodating all types of learning styles from lecturing to hands on learning. I would recommend this school to as many people as I can.

Your experience is what YOU make it at Fortis. If your attitude is positive and youre willing to put forth effort you can and WILL be successful. The instructors/staff are resourceful and will help you learn what you need to accomplish your goals. But if you dont take time to study whats being taught outside of class of course youll fail. I highly recommend the MBC program. The MA program is good if you stay to yourself and dont get caught up in the petty drama that the younger MAs(18-26) age range bring.Ms. EdwardsMs. RussellMs.WhiteheadMs.OchoaDr. RiverolDr. ReyesAre all awesome instructors, they keep it real and let you know what working in your career will actually be like! Dr.Ravi & Ms.Holden are also amazing in advocating for the students. Angel is also very awesome. I highly recommend joining the ambassadors club as well!You may feel like some of the classes are outdated and pointless at times and these instructors will tell you that going out on extern you may be asked to abandon how you learned to do things while at Fortis but that is OK. Go out on externship with a clear mindset and willing to learn and take notes and I guarantee if you dont get hired you will get a letter of recommendation from the site supervisor which will take you a long way in your chosen path.The cons of Fortis are the breakroom being a fall hazard so be careful.. also even though my custodian friend tries to keep the restrooms sparkling clean some of the female students have trifling restroom habits so beware of that. Annnd the a/c is sketchy one day its hot the next its freezing so like the weather in Houston be prepared for all the seasons, overall though i recommend Fortis to anyone looking for a career boost!

Really enjoyed my classes and instructors. When I thought I couldnt do or would get frusted, my teacher took out the time to stay after classes with me, and after school. That really helped me alot because I got to understand what I was doing. The homework may be it hard but it comes in handy. Even when you graduate all the notes and homework will help you in your fields. All can i say is thank you to everyone at Fortis College for everything!!!!

This is the worst school!!!!!!! Do not go to this school!!! The new director is terrible. She happen to people crazy and make everythinf hard for everybody. With her attitude, she shouldnt hold a head position. They are losing sites for several programs and students have no where to go for externs. Now im speaking from a surgical tech student point of view. I advise everybody to turn around and run. I had 1 teacher that didnt teach and one that yelled at people for no reason. FORTIS NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!. They are stealing peoples money. I promise all that money to pay is not worth the struggle with Fortis. And they probably deleting all the bad reviews. Smh. I wouldnt put it passed them. If i could give zero or negative 100 stars i would.

The new director over the surgical program and sterile process has a REALLY BAD ATTITUDE and should not be in the position that she’s in. She’s yells at people for NO reason and gets offended when you correct her on her teaching skills. Because they don’t have an instructor to teach she’s stepping in and doesn’t know what she’s doing. Watching YouTube videos or just reading out the book is not teaching the class!!! She will give an assignment over chapter 1 but the next day we will have a test over chapter 2 in which we didn’t go over!!! She also be little people and HARASSMENT is a BIG issue within her. Ms.Laura Caruth is the BIGGEST problem within this school and something needs to be done!!! She has made my experience within this school a TERRIBLE one and makes a lot of us feel UNWANTED and taken for granted. WARNING DO NOT ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! In the end you are your own teacher!!!

I attended Memorial Hermann Hospital for my externship and after completing my externship I received a job offered. Instructors need to be more professional and not discuss there private lives and they should stop gossiping about other instructors and what goes on in the school. They should focus more on the education of the student and should stop telling students to report instructors to TWC or the State.There needs to be more supplies for the students and sufficient supply of paper we should not have to bring paper to the class for our assignments.
